While taking construction photos at Victoria Dock about a month ago, I spotted this old steam tug looking a bit on the rusty and decrepit side. A bit of research tells me she was built in 1938-9 in Scotland, served as a tug in Lyttelton NZ for 40 years, operated as a tourist vessel in Sydney and then went to Geelong in 1987 before moving to Melbourne.

There's something rather surreal about sights like this just outside of the Melbourne CBD and surrounded by all the shiny newness going up in Docklands...

so Dock V really IS gold, not sh*t brown after all!Dock 5 is grey, purple and blue. It's also in none of those photos :)
