Very nice, hudkina, Detroit rocks! I always wanted to try that Mario's Restaurant, heard good things about it.

The abandoned forfeiture, wealth stuffy, grass on the sidewalks and roads, iron fencings that delimit the houses of the poor ones like worse the Las Vegas, but altogether the Motown (where for a long time Ford and competition has moved the factories elsewhere, in ill-famed and the a lot extolled “poor” Bible Belt) does not end to fascinate and would want much living to me them, in the not mawkish authentication and native land of Eminem. Great pics. I love Detroit's housing stock, and downtown is looking great as usual.

Yes, I love the old Victorian and Edwardian brick houses the best... very nice!
Some very attractive old "skyscrapers" downtown, too.

Ironically none of those shots from 8 Mile are even from Detroit...

Probably the least favourite city that I've visited - it's got it's nice bits though; especially the houses. Loved the houses.

At one point Detroit had the highest home-ownership rate in the U.S. The drive for the American Dream is what built the city, but sadly the American Dream also helped destroy much of the city.

and also the second murdered rate of U.S.A after Washington D.C.

It looks like a much bigger version of Buffalo. I love the old architecture of Detroit. It really is an under-rated city. Great pics. Good job

Beautiful architecture! A shame that so many of the buildings are rundown.

Far from my least favorite US city. I find Detroit fascinating and many US cities would be blessed to have even what is left of Detroit's architectural stock.

I hope the city comes back to the glory days
I was there 4 years ago, it's amazing how many infraestructures are abandoned, some of them, very beautiful and with arquitectural value.:ohno:
But it's also good to now that there are some interesting areas ...
