Its Ugly..but high marks for sheer height.

It's like the old WTC Twin Towers... it's deign isn't the best. But something about it just attracts you to it. 8.5/10

tv towers shoud disapear form the planet. i dont like any of the kind. i dont vote for. i dont understand why not build a nice skyscraper and place the transmitters on the roof

dirty, and ugly you should rebiult it. The good example of fine tv tower could be this one in Munchen

Somehow people who start these threads do not bother to find attractive pics of the subject... And why put the pic of the fire? it was an accident, too bad it happened, but it is over, it has been fixed. What does it have to do with the regular typical view of the tower that we are supposed to be concerned with here? Let's try to do better.

And btw, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... So 10/10 to this beautifully proportioned graceful tower.

IMO when scrapers will be built in the northen part of Moscow (and this will hapeen in the next few years), it will look even better, so I really should have given it 9.5 to allow for that.

Does anyone have any info on how its bieng held up? I have heard rumors about it bieng tightend to the ground with a truss going up the tower. It really interestes me about how its supported.

Considering the time this tower was built, it's quite an engineering achievement.

Is it still in use? It looks a bit worn down.

i really love this tower...dunno why but i love the design :)

From my personal collection... a classic 1967 stamp showing Ostankino tower flying the red flag.
Regardless of anyone's opinions, Ostankino tower still remains one of the greatest engineering fits in human history.
