At 56 stories, Arraya is slated to open in 2007 as one of the tallest buildings on the dynamic skyline of Kuwait City. The 50 million, 500,000-square-foot tower is composed of two parts: a square glass element that rises the full height of the building and a limestone-clad mass that is canted at an angle in plan and in relation to surrounding street grids. The limestone portion of the tower recalls the established vernacular of the existing multi-use Arraya complex, which includes a 32-story, 300-suite hotel, conference and banquet space, a parking garage and a three-level retail complex with over 10,000 square meters of shopping. The iconic top of the tower, which is topped by a telecommunications mast, is sloped and angled to create a unique and memorable image for the entire complex.

this must have the least floor count for a 300m building?
i just scaled model and if spire = 300m, then top of pointy roof or base of spire = 245m and main roof= 200m.

Emirates (Hotel) Tower @309 meters, has only 51 Floors, at least that what the lift pad shows for the VU's bar that is on top, where the angled part starts.

Arraya Office Tower, Sharq, Kuwait
Floors formed quickly and reliably with ACS, RCS and SKYDECK

Construction of the two separate reinforced concrete cores took place in advance with ACS self-climbing technology and VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork in regular weekly cycles. This meant shuttering, striking and climbing could be carried out without the use of a crane and in all weathers. For optimal working procedures, two versions of the modular ACS system operated next to ach other. The placing boom was also lifted ith the ACS from section to section.

The RCS climbing protection panel completely enclosed the slab edges of the trailing floors. Protected against strong winds, construction site personnel could work safely and productively in the top three storeys even at great heights. Mobile selfclimbing devices from the RCS modular system ensured crane-independent climbing with reduced and therefore cost-effective on-site material requirements.

In order to be able to maintain the planned weekly cycle, also when constructing the slab floors, the 850 mē area on each storey was formed using the SKYDECK system. The lightweight aluminium elements allowed simple, non-tiring and fast assembly. And with the drophead, early striking could take place. This meant that the main beams and panels were freed up to be used for the next cycle.

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/185/periarrayatblgcc3.gif

With the ACS self-climbing system, the 4.00 m high casting segments of the reinforced concrete core could be safely constructed without the use of a crane and regardless of the weather. In the secure conditions provided by the RCS climbing protection panel, work could be effi ciently carried out work even with high wind speeds. Through the SKYDECK drop head system, the main beams and panels required for constructing the next floor could be struck earlier then usual.

Thanks for the nice update... I don't know about the estimation of the height of the tower... but I think another update for the other sides will work great in estimating it...
I think it's around 240 m now, but I am not sure...
And yes, it's about time for finishing the top of the tower...

It looks so... they used to number the floors until they reached the line in the middle of the tower... By counting the floors using a 4-months old picture of the building, I think it reached the number of floors that you Guessed :)
This is according to the south side of the tower, of cource...

One thing I've noticed...
We are calling it 'ALRAYA Office Tower' yet the building itself bears the signage ARRAYA.

See the first pic in this post (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=43957634&postcount=193) where the top shows 'ARRAYA'.

The company that built this tower has another tower with the same name... The first Alraya Tower is a hotel tower (Courtyard Hotel). This new one, which is taller and newer than the hotel one, is specialised only for commercial offices... I think that the name "Alraya Office Tower" is meant to differentiate between the new tower and the older one... So if you call it "Alraya Office Tower" or "Alraya 2nd Tower" you're referring to the new taller one... But when you say only "Alraya Tower", someone may say: Which one do you mean?! :)
Any way, this is what I think! :|

Check this out: Alraya Hotel (to the right) and Alraya Office Tower (center) and you may notice that the hotel has the same company logo, but not the name!

Kuwait's new mega structure combines grace of form with functionality

Arraya Tower, one of Kuwait's tallest buildings at 300 m above ground level, takes its place beside the nearby Kuwait Towers as an iconic building of this leading Gulf state.

Becoming a new focal point in the city's new Financial District, the Arraya centre integrates a shopping mall, entertainments complex and the office facilities and is ideally situated in close proximity to the nation's seat of government, its major financial institutions, banks, stock exchange and chamber of commerce, the main ministries of government, plus a full range of international hotels and retail centres.

Designed by PACE and Fentress Architects for the Salhia Real Estate Company, the planning and detailing of the tower was done in close coordination with the Municipality's building and planning departments. Conforming to t e permitted floor area ratio, the 60-storey tower, with a gross built-up area of 62,000 sq m, was able to combine grace of form with functionality, with all floors providing efficient layouts and a flexibility of office size and design.

The height of the building optimized space a ground level, sufficient to ensure adequate on-site parking and circulation and efficient and safe access to and from the bounding distributor road network. Designing and constructing what would be Kuwait's tallest building brought many new challenges, both for the architects and the responsible government agencies. Safety was high on the list of priorities, and in cooperation with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Kuwait Fire Service, many innovative features were incorporated into the design, including the designation of levels 20 and 40 as evacuation floors in the event of fire.
