The move comes as part of the national flag carrier’s master plan to triple its fleet from 50 to 150 aircraft by 2020.

The planes will be used to increase flight frequency and open new routes to Northeast Asia.

Last June, Techcombank, together with HSBC and Credit Suisse, signed a US$120-million aircraft financing package with Vietnam Airlines for the purchase of six ATR 72-500 aircraft from France-based manufacturer Toulouse .

Vietnam Airlines has said it plans to become the second biggest Southeast Asian carrier after Singapore Airlines by 2015, when it is scheduled to have 104 aircraft in its fleet.

Vietnam Airlines is doubling its fleet as it prepares for partial privatisation

Vietnam Airlines is planning a major expansion of its long-haul fleet as it faces new competition in its home market from short-haul carriers.

The state-owned airline has been expanding its long-haul fleet with Boeing 777-200ERs and already had four Boeing 787s on order for delivery in 2009 and 2010. In early October it signed a memorandum of understanding with Boeing for 12 more 787s for delivery from 2015. The carrier says it hopes to have a fleet of 28 787s by 2020.

Vietnam Airlines at the same time signed an MoU with Airbus to acquire 10 A350-900s for delivery from 2014. In addition, together with a new state-owned leasing company, it has signed an MoU for 20 Airbus A321s for delivery from 2012.

The carrier also indicates it plans to order more A350s in future, giving it a fleet of 24 of the type by 2020. By 2020 it also expects to be operating 50 A320-family aircraft, compared to the current 20. Vietnam Airlines currently operates 45 aircraft and plans call for it to be operating 86 by 2015 and 110 by 2020.

Widebodies are to be operated primarily on new long-haul routes to Europe and the USA. It plans to launch US services late next year with 777-200ER flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Los Angeles.

The orders come ahead of plans for the carrier to be part-privatised through an initial public offering in the near future. They also come as it is facing much more competition at home from new carriers, as the government relaxes restrictions on airline operations.

Vietnam's air transport market has been growing rapidly but until now has been dominated by Vietnam Airlines and much smaller Pacific Airlines. Australia's Qantas Airways recently acquired 18% of Pacific and plans to increase this to 30%. It is helping the carrier transform its operations to follow the low-cost model.

Malaysian low-cost airline group AirAsia also recently signed an agreement with Vietnam's state-owned shipbuilding company Vinashin to set up a new low-cost carrier in the country. In addition, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam is assessing an application from a group of Vietnamese investors seeking to establish a new airline called Vietjet that aims to operate narrowbody aircraft.

The government has meanwhile embarked on a major airport upgrade programme to support the rapid growth in the market. To help pay for many of the new aircraft on order for the state-owned airlines it has established a national leasing company owned by Vietnam Airlines and three other state-owned firms.

Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will offer a 60-70 percent discount on all domestic and international flights scheduled from October 1- January 31.
The airline’s southern director, Nguyen Thi Minh Yen, said the promotion campaign, which begins on the same day as the International Travel Expo (ITE), would help to shore up tourism during tough economic times.

The ITE, the country’s largest and most important tourism fair, will be held from October 1-3 at the Phu Tho Exhibition Centre in HCM City’s District 11.

Tickets for Vietnam Airlines flights must be purchased from October 1-20. Requests for flight delays or cancellations will not be allowed.

At the tourism fair, 300 exhibitors will be showcasing the tourism potential of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to 150 participating travel agencies from 25 countries, including the US, Russia, Germany, China, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.

Somehow it is clear that the discount ends at the start of New Lunar Year Eve season.

Lufthansa Technik AG has been selected by Vietnam Airlines to provide maintenance and overhauls for turboprop engines of the airline's ATR72-fleet. The three-year-contract encompasses the PW124 engine subtype powering the airline's seven ATR72-200s as well as the PW127 subtype to be used on up to 16 ATR72-500s.

In addition to the engine services, an existing contract regarding the maintenance and overhaul of Auxiliary Power Units (APU) has been extended. According to the renewed contract Lufthansa Technik will be in charge of the maintenance and overhauls of Hamilton Sundstrand APS3200 APUs used in Vietnam Airlines' fleet of Airbus A321s for another year until mid 2010.

The engine services will be carried out by Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey, the Group's experts for maintenance, repair and overhauls of turboprop and jet engines for regional aircraft. The APU overhauls will be provided by Lufthansa Technik's engine and APU shops in Hamburg.

"For the overhaul of our engines and APUs we were looking for a partner with state-of-the-art facilities", said Dr. Nguyen Sy Hung, Chairman of Management Board of Vietnam Airlines. "The quality and turnaround times offered in both the Hamburg APU shops and at AERO Alzey convinced us to sign with Lufthansa Technik again, one of our most reliable partners."

The recently signed contract carries forward a long and successful business relationship between Vietnam Airlines and Lufthansa Technik Group. In the past both companies have already cooperated in numerous fields of maintenance, repair and overhaul, for example in engine services or aircraft component maintenance.

Jetstar Pacific increases chartered capital

The Vietnam-based budget carrier Jetstar Pacific’s executive board has approved a decision to increase its chartered capital to more than VND 1.3 trillion from VND 727 billion.
The increase will be implemented by issuing more shares to existing shareholders.

The State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) now holds the lion’s share, 69.93% of Jetstar Pacific, while the Australian airline Qantas has 27% as a strategic shareholder.

According to Jetstar Pacific, the budget airline has also adopted a plan to upgrade its fleets of aircraft in order to meet passengers’ demand and prepare for its plan to expand its international network of air routes to regional countries.

Under the plan, the airline will wrap up the upgrade of its fleet and perform final technical checks in Singapore by the end of next month.
With a fleet of six A320 and Boeing 737-400 aircrafts, Jestar Pacific conducts about 280 domestic flights a week.

Aviation market gains more growth momentum

Vo Huy Cuong, director of CAAV’s Air Transport Department, said nearly 13 million domestic and international passengers went through all airports in Vietnam in the first nine months of this year, up 5.5% on the year earlier period.

The January-September growth was higher than a mere 2% recorded in the first half of this year, and this is a clear sign of recovery for the country’s aviation market, though domestic airlines are still facing difficulties.

Cuong credited the higher growth to strong demand of the domestic segment. He gave an example that more than 615,000 locals traveled by air in September alone, up 23% year on year. Cuong however said September was usually the start of the low season for air travel in Vietnam and that the demand would not pick up until early November.

The number of international passengers traveling by air to and from Vietnam in September dropped by 1.2% over the year earlier period to some 642,000, Cuong said. However, he did not disclose the number for the January-September period.

According to the General Statistics Office, more than 2.26 million international passengers traveled by air to and from Vietnam in the first nine months of the year, a year-on-year decrease of 10.6%.
"The local segment is the main driver for the whole aviation market recovery,” Cuong told the Daily last week. He said this was why the whole market still grew albeit at a slower rate than last year.
About 23.4 million passengers went through all airports in Vietnam last year, up 15.7% over 2007. Last year saw the number of domestic passengers exceed 14 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.4%.
Cuong said many challenges remained ahead despite the global economy was on the track of recovery and more optimistic forecasts for the gross domestic product growth of Vietnam.

In related news, Cuong said Vietnam’s first licensed private carrier VietJet Air had not submitted its plan to commence commercial flights this year to CAAV although the deadline of two years upon being licensed would be due this December.
An executive of VietJet Air said that the airline would announce such a plan soon but was unable to confirm when to start the maiden flight this year when asked by the Daily.
The private carrier with chartered capital of VND600 billion (US$33.6 million) had to announce delays for the take-off due to the impact of soaring fuel costs last year and the lower-than-expected demand this year.

Meanwhile, Mekong Aviation Joint Stock Co. (Mekong Air) has been quiet since the private airline received a license from the Ministry of Transport to operate domestic services in late 2008.
Cuong said CAAV had not received any plan from the VND200-billion carrier Mekong Air though its application unveiled its intention to operate some 10 small-sized aircraft for the services between HCMC and Can Tho, Phu Quoc and Rach Gia from 2010.

Vietnam Airlines to launch new non-stop services

The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, will officially launch two new direct routes linking Hanoi with central and Central Highlands provincial capitals of Tuy Hoa and Pleiku late this month.

The Hanoi-Tuy Hoa route will operate on October 24 and serve three flights a week. The Hanoi-Pleiku service will open on October 27 and offer four flights a week.

79-seat Fokker 70 airplanes will be used on both new routes.

At present, the Pleiku airport in Gia Lai province handles seven flights a week from Pleiku to Hanoi with the transit point in the central city of Da Nang .

Passengers will enjoy one-way ticket price of 705,000 VND (around 40 USD) for the flight between Hanoi and Tuy Hoa during the promotion period from the beginning of the new routes till the end of this year.

Vietnam’s first dedicated cargo airline licensed

The Ministry of Transport has issued a license to Trai Thien Air Cargo to provide air cargo transport services in Vietnam next year.

Vo Huy Cuong, head of the Aviation Transport Department at the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, said Trai Thien is the first company allowed to provide only air cargo services (and not passenger services) in the country.

It is expected to start operations early next year, he said.

Trai Thien Air Cargo, with a registered capital of VND500 billion, will initially provide its services within the country using one Boeing 737-300F plane. The company said it would later expand its services to more Asian routes and add four new aircraft to its fleet.

Passenger airlines like Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Indochina Airlines also provide cargo services.

But Cuong said the national aviation administration encouraged carriers to use special planes for air cargo services. However, local demand for the services was still low, he added.

Within the framework of the 13th regular session of the Russia-Vietnam intergovernmental commission on commercial, technical and scientific cooperation Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and VietJet Air, a start-up Vietnamese airline, signed in the presence of Viktor Khristenko, Minister of Industry and Trade in the Russian Federation a protocol, confirming the readiness of the Vietnamese airline to look into the perspective to purchase Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional aircraft.

VietJet Aviation General Director Nguyen Duc Tam commented: "Today VietJet Aviation has signed a protocol with SCAC, which we consider one of the most promising regional jet producers. Having analyzed the market we think that Sukhoi Superjet 100 has the potential to become an effective part of our future fleet".

SCAC President, Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, noted "South East Asia is one of the most prospective regions. We foresee a substantial traffic growth there in the next two decades. SSJ100 will be a perfect tool which will ensure the local operators to sustain this growth".

In a document sent to the Minister of Transportation, the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration has confirmed that Indochina Airlines is in an unhealthy financial situation.
According to the document, reports of Indochina Airlines’ partners including Southern Airports Corporation, the Northern Airports Corporation and the Vietnam Air Navigation Service Corporation show the airline owes over 30 billion dong.
These are overdue debts and creditors won’t allow Indochina Airlines to delay payment further. At this moment, this airline has not sent its financial report to ensure its flight schedule for 2010 at the request of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration.
The Administration, therefore, asked the Ministry of Transportation to revoke the aviation transportation license granted to Indochina Airlines as of January 1, 2010. This license will be reconsidered after Indochina Airlines proves its financial ability.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) has started an inspection of Jetstar Pacific Airlines’ aircraft maintenance procedures following allegations of several failings.

The agency has said it will not arrive at any conclusion on the accusation by the low-cost carrier’s ex-chief engineer Bernard John McCune before the ten-day investigation, launched on November 5, is completed, said CAAV deputy director general Lai Xuan Thanh.

McCune has alleged that JPA failed to follow proper maintenance procedures, including monitoring wing engines, leading to the breakdown of two engines of a plane within one week because of overheating.

The engineer also claimed he once detected an engine of another A320 aircraft (VN-A195) in conditions unfit for use. He reported this to his superiors, but the plane was still allowed to take off and didn’t have the engine replaced until later, he added.

McCune said JPA had ended contract with him because he had raised concerns over the engine and other safety matters.

JPA Deputy Managing Director Daniela Masilli said the airline had always complied with flight safety requirements as well as local regulations, and said there was no evidence to back McCune’s claims.

The engineer was sacked due to shortcomings in his efficiency, according to JPA, which was earlier Pacific Airlines. The name was changed in May last year under a branding agreement with Jetstar Airways - a subsidiary of Australia-based Qantas Airlines.

VNBusinessNews.com - Trai Thien Air Cargo received a license from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Oct. 16 to operate freight services in the country and outside.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung gave the green light to the Ministry of Transport to allow Trai Thien to provide air cargo transport services.

The company was the country’s first private company licensed to provide air cargo transport services. It will use Boeing 737-300F aircraft of the non-passenger carrying kind.

Trai Thien Air Cargo says it will focus on the domestic market. It will also operate the services between Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi and Northeast Asia, between Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Southeast Asia.

The company is an arm of the Trai Thien Group, which is working to open an office in California to pave the way for its direct goods transport service between Vietnam and the US. Trai Thien Maritime Transport, another Trai Thien company, will provide the sea transport services...

Vietnam Airlines is to buy six new Airbus aircraft A380 superjumbos in a deal worth almost £1.1bn at list prices.

The agreement between the flag carrier and Airbus also includes an industrial partnership to build certain parts for Airbus and the establishment of a pilot and engineer training centre in the country.

In addition to the superjumbos, the deal includes two A350XWB-900 wide-body planes. The wings for the six aircraft will be built at Airbus’ Broughton plant, near Chester.

The deal is a boost for Airbus on eve of next week’s Dubai air show at which it will compete with US rival manufacturer Boeing for orders which this year have thinned out due to the downturn in global aviation.

Vietnam Airlines officials recently expressed concern about production delays to its order of 16 of Boeing's 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The carrier had intended to use the aircraft to serve its long haul services including direct flights to the United States.

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) on Nov. 13 signed an agreement with Astrium of France to study an optical Earth observation satellite system, its associated ground infrastructure and training of Vietnamese engineers in Earth observation data handling and analysis, Astrium announced.

The agreement stops short of a contract despite the Vietnamese government’s announcement in January that it had selected France as its partner in development Earth observation satellites. The partnership was described at the time as including a French contribution of development aid to finance work on a 150-kilogram satellite whose total program budget, including the satellite’s launch and training of Vietnamese personnel, was estimated at about $100 million.

The Nov. 13 agreement came during a visit to Hanoi by French Prime Minister Francois Fillon during which France and Vietnam signed an intergovernmental space-cooperation accord.

Astrium Chief Executive Francois Auque said in a Nov. 13 statement that the agreement with VAST “punctuates several years of cooperation between Astrium and VAST space-program managers on Vietnam’s first Earth observation satellite. Astrium’s goal is to develop a long-term strategic space partnership with Vietnam.”

Astrium has established similar Earth observation satellite program relationships with Thailand, South Korea, Algeria, Chile and Kazakhstan, not including the small-satellite partnerships developed with numerous nations by Astrium-owned Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. of Britain.

Two Vietnamese Air Force pilots were killed when their fighter jet crashed into a hill in northern Vietnam, a military source said Friday.

An official at Yen Bai military airfield, who declined to be named, said the Russian-built MIG-21 fighter crashed during a routine exercise Thursday in the mountainous province of Thanh Hoa.

The accident killed Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Vinh, head of Air Force Regiment C31, and another pilot. Both pilots' bodies were recovered from the wreckage.

The news website VnExpress quoted Tran Cong Thanh, chairman of the Yen Bai People's Committee, as saying the fighter had crashed into a warehouse near a residential area.

Hoang Quoc Cuong, deputy chairman of Yen Bai People's Committee, said the fighter had encountered trouble while flying over a residential area. Cuong said the pilots had guided it out of the residential area rather than ejecting.

Nguyen Van Hung, a resident of the area, said he saw the plane spin several times, discharging black smoke, and explode.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.

The Vietnamese Air Force has been flying the MIG-21 since the mid-1960s, and still has hundreds in operation. The common model is a single-seat fighter, but Vietnam also flies a two-seat training configuration.

Indian air force has lost so many Migs, and pilots in traning that the nation newspapers had to cry out, causing public demand for stopping using it. The reason is IAF want to make good use of many these old jets in their inventory, so they use them extensively for training. Coupled with poor maintainance, they constantly crash them. This year Malaysian air force retitred Mig-29s after only 10 years of service and decided to purchase new improved Su's which have been re-designed to have longer life-span.

I don't those guys in Hanoi want you to refer them as VNAF! :lol: They are VPAF I think. I don't know what the official name of the Red Air Force. VNAF is South Vietnam's Air Force, the 5th largest air force in the world during its period. The VNAF was equipped with C-130s, F-5s, A-37s, Canberras, Chinooks, Hueys and so on. All of their pilots had advanced Western training in the US like other allied air forces.

Your post contains wrong info. I never said that VN was not a poor country. The point is there is old gear, which is even used by advanced countries. Those countries can afford newer gear or they are still waiting for the military-industrial complex to pick up the production pace. In many cases even those countries do not see a reason to upgrade.

In many posts you've made clearly wrong statements. Remember your comment about titanium production level in the SU and the use of it for Soviet submarines? If you go for FACTS, better countercheck your FACTS.

About politics: it's disputed and I do not have a problem with your view. I have no problem to acknowledge that there are other view on VN' history. But unlike you, I give credit for both sides. (You probably remember why I can and I can imagine why you can't. But the concept of an extended family is in VN a FACT.)

A bad week for Jetstar and Indochina Air

Jetstar Pacific has been accused of ignoring safety regulations. Indochina Airlines, deep in debt, faces loss of its license. This past week, says Nguoi Lao Dong, passengers were flocking back to Vietnam Airlines.

At the dawn of a new ‘open skies’ era in Vietnam’s internal aviation market a scant three years ago, investors were queuing for licences. They saw aviation not only as a lucrative business, but also as an industry which could help put investors in a ‘higher class’ and make them giants.

However, investors must meet strict requirements on business plans and technical requirements. In the end, only three new licenses were granted, though ten applications were made. Word went around that some investors were ready to pay many billions of dong to purchase an approved airline that only existed ‘on paper’.

Indochina Air on the ropes

Indochina Airlines was born in such conditions and began providing commercial flights in November 2008. It was not the first wholly private airline licensed in Vietnam, but it was the first private airline that provided flights. It also provides the first lesson about the competition in Vietnam’s aviation market

After just one year of operation, Indochina Airlines is heavily in debt. The airline has just cancelled all its flights until November 25 because there were too few passengers. Even the managers of Indochina Airlines now are not sure about the fate of the airline.

Some ask why Indochina Airlines has taken losses when the internal aviation market has been growing well, notwithstanding the economic downturn. Experts say that the growth rate of the transportation sector is double the nation’s overall growth rate. Only five million of Vietnam’s 86 million people have so far flown, so airlines still have plenty of ‘room’ to develop business.

Jetstar has its own troubles

Jetstar Pacific’s passenger totals have increased by 30 percent so far this year, while the seat occupancy rate of upstart Indochina Airlines has been very high at 80 percent. However, the receipts don’t cover expenses because the airlines have been engaged in competitive fare reductions. And, in that race, Vietnam Airlines has far deeper pockets than both Jetstar Pacific and Indochina Airlines.

Jetstar Pacific has become a serious contender to the ‘national flag carrier,’ Vietnam Airlines, since it increased the frequency of its Hanoi-HCM City service to 11 roundtrip flights per day and wrested nearly 50 percent of the high season passengers.

Six of Vietnam’s 32 domestic air routes are now competitive.

However, Jetstar Pacific has its own troubles. After relentless lobbying by Vietnam Airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority has ordered it not to use “Jet” and the orange star, so that passengers do not mistake it for the Australian air carrier that is a minority shareholder. Last week, moreover, when JP dismissed two foreign engineers, instead of going quietly, they publically accused the airline of cutting corners on aircraft maintenance.

Even with the financial backing of Qantas, Jetstar Pacific just managed to break even in July 2009. Its CEO and several other managers have resigned.

Rocked by these developments, some analysts are saying that Vietnam Airlines has already bested its rivals and can look forward to a future without significant competition on internal routes.

VietJet waits for the right moment

And yet, another contender is in the wings. VietJet Air has filed to begin providing commercial flights in May 2010, a time that analysts expect will be the beginning of a new boom period.

VietJet Air is capitalized at 600 billion dong. A leader of VietJet Air said that the airline has had to consider its flight plan very carefully, learning lessons from the hastiness of Indochina Airline and Jetstar Pacific.

Though it was the first private airline licensed in Vietnam, VietJet Air has twice postponed beginning service. The airline has reportedly spent 70 billion dong for the preparation work since it got its flying license.

It would not be surprising, if those officials/polititians, who favour SOEs over the private sector, have their hands in/enforcing current crisis of VN's private airlines. Especially with the vast coverage of the "bad news" in the state-owned media.
Foreign private investors will try to get more background info on this development to re/calculate ventures in VN.
Even if the private airlines got themselves into trouble, it's not an encouragement for more private investors, who want to setup competition in sectors, which are now dominated by SOEs.

Ideology clash as Jetstar Pacific chief quits

JETSTAR Pacific, the Vietnamese arm of Australia's budget airline brand, has lost its chief executive, leaving Qantas to deal with emerging ideological differences with the nation's Communist Government.
The move is a major setback for the Australian carrier, which is under orders from the Vietnamese Transport Ministry to strip the Jetstar name and distinctive orange branding off the six-jet fleet by October because it is "too Australian".

Yesterday, Qantas would not reveal why Luong Hoai Nam, who was appointed by the Communist Party five years ago, suddenly quit the airline without notice, the Herald Sun reports.
A source said the move was for "cultural reasons".

The Herald Sun believes the problem confronting Qantas, which bought into the business two years ago to snare valuable traffic rights, is it is caught in a battle between competing Communist ideologies.

Party pragmatists, including Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, want to encourage global franchise agreements to promote economic development, while old-style hardliners seek to defeat Western-style capitalism.

Meanwhile, Qantas, which holds 27 per cent of the Vietnamese brand, is treading carefully in dealing with the country's leadership.

Jetstar's Australian chief Bruce Buchanan made a recent hurried trip to Hanoi where he made it clear to the Transport Ministry that the Jetstar brand and its integration with the wider Qantas and Jetstar groups was defined in binding legal agreements.

"Jetstar Australia and the Qantas Group has always understood the association of the Jetstar brand within Vietnam, which has been fundamental to the transformation of the former Pacific Airlines, was approved and deemed legal by the Vietnamese Government," he said.

Mr Buchanan said cross-border branding was standard international practice, and one that already had precedence in Vietnam and in the Asia-Pacific aviation industry.

Qantas has injected $50 million into Jetstar Pacific and, until the onset of the latest troubles, planned to lift its stake to 30 per cent next October.

After more than two years of corporate cost-cutting overseen by Qantas and Jetstar advisers, Jetstar Pacific turned a profit for the first time in July.

Passenger numbers have since grown by 43 per cent while other airlines struggle to generate traffic.

Present issues are not the first that Qantas and Jetstar have encountered.

Last year Mr Dung had to intervene when supplies of jet kerosene were suddenly cut off when tankers refuelling Jetstar Pacific's fleet were withdrawn without notice by Government-controlled Vietnam Airlines.

Jetstar Pacific flies to seven Vietnam cities but the Qantas deal allows it to share valuable air traffic rights to Europe so Ho Chi Minh City could be used as a refuelling hub for future services from Australia.

Vietnam Airlines suspends attendants for smuggling gold

Vietnam Airlines has suspended three flight attendants after they were seized by South Korean customs authorities while trying to smuggle undeclared gold jewellery out of the country, a company spokesman said Friday.
Vietnam Airlines spokesman Le Hoang Dung told the German Press Agency dpa the company had not yet received the customs authorities' report, but had suspended the flight attendants while waiting for clarification.
The state-run newspaper Thanh Nien reported authorities at Incheon-Seoul international airport detained three flight attendants Thursday after finding gold jewelry weighing 24 ounces (746 grams) worth some 30,000 dollars in Vietnam in their luggage.
The attendants were allowed to return to Vietnam Friday.
The price of gold in Vietnam has risen much higher than the world price recently because of foreign currency trading restrictions and a ban on importing gold, which was lifted on Wednesday.
Dung said Vietnam Airlines would punish the flight attendants harshly if they were found guilty. He said the airline had issued a direct order to employees Wednesday not to engage in smuggling after gold prices rose sharply.
The US dollar and gold prices began rising quickly in Vietnam on Monday.
The price of gold peaked at 1,639 dollars per Vietnam tael (37.5 grams) on Wednesday, but fell to 1,515 dollars per tael Thursday after the State Bank lifted a ban on gold imports in a bid to end a huge run-up in prices. The ban had been effective since May 2008 to limit the country's trade deficit.

A Vietnam Airlines Fokker 70, flight VN-279 from Hanoi to Dong Hoi (Vietnam), completed the flight without obvious incident. Before passengers could disembark, a passenger started claiming, that money in his hand luggage had been stolen.

The passenger said, that he had put his bag containing 200 million Vietnam Dongs (about 11200 US$) into the overhead locker before flight. When he collected his hand bag after landing, the money inside the bag were gone.

The money could not be immediately located. While the airplane continued on its next flight VN-379 to Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon), the money were found underneath a seat which the passenger had not been assigned to.

Authorities returned the money to the passenger and are investigating the theft reporting, that the prime suspect currently is a male flight attendant.

Fuel firm promises supplies to struggling airline

The state-owned fuel supplier, also known as Vinapco, said it would sell fuel to Indochina when the carrier resumes its service later this month only on a pay in advance basis as the private airline has not managed to clear unpaid bills totaling VND18 billion (US$1 million) yet.

Vinapco Director Tran Huu Phuc said Indochina had suspended its services independently and that Vinapco had not cut off supplies to the ariline.

The monopoly fuel supplier, an affiliate of national carrier Vietnam Airlines, had warned Indochina Airlines in June that it would cut off supplies if the debts were not cleared.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam did not allow Vinapco to do so, fearing the effect on travelers in the country.

CAAV Deputy Director Lai Xuan Thanh was quoted by Thoi Bao Kinh Te Saigon (Saigon Economic Times) Thursday as saying that even though his administration already proposed that the Ministry of Transport consider revoking Indochina’s license, service suppliers were not allowed to cut off provisions to airlines.

Thanh also said Indochina would be given the opportunity to maintain its services as long as it could meet all the financial requirements.

Indochina said in a statement last week it would suspend its lone Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City service until November 26 as it didn’t have enough customers to afford fuel costs.

According to this news and comments from other Russian forums/sources, Vietnam will gradually buy more Sukhoi Su-30/Su-35 to replace the MiG-21 - altrough not one-on-one until 2015.
Still no info are available, which aircraft is going to replace the strike force, which currently consists of Su-22s.
Also the advanced jet trainers -currently the Czech L-39s- need replacement soon.

More VND400 billion invested in Indochina Airlines:

Indochina Airlines has persuaded successfully its shareholders to invest more VND400 billion in legal capital, according to Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV).
Indochina Airlines affirmed that it will gradually pay all debts to its partners before 2010. The airlines will resume its flights again as of mid-December on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City and HCM City-Da Nang routes.
With two 165-seat aircraft, Indochina Airlines will carry out 8 flights a day between Hanoi and HCM City at maximum.

Skyteam bundles its forces in Asia

Despite the presence of Korean Air and China Southern, alliance Skyteam continues to lack visibility in Asia, a comment which does not seem to please Pierre Gourgeon, president and CEO of Air France-KLM, the driving force behind the alliance.

“This is not true! We have a very strong presence in Korea, Japan, and China, especially with our partners Korean Air and China Southern Airlines,” he said during a recent press conference in Paris. However, he is prompt to recognize that Skyteam remains weak in markets such as south Asia (India) and southeast Asia.

Year 2010 should bring welcome changes. Gourgeon confirms that Vietnam Airlines will enter the alliance by next year helping Skyteam to cover extensively southeast Asia from both Vietnam hubs in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Vietnam Airlines is now engaged into a modernization process prior to becoming an official member in June 2010. Since 2007, the airline has ordered 36 Airbus A-321, two Airbus A-350 900XWB, 16 Boeing B787 Dreamliners, and 11 ATR 72. Mid-November, the airline announced its intention to acquire four Airbus A380 with the contract being possibly finalized during the first quarter of 2010. Vietnam Airlines has currently a fleet of 52 planes flying 19 domestic and 25 international routes with a total passengers’ number of over nine million. It expects to triple its fleet and passengers number by 2020.

The airlines' network has been reorganized to shorten transit time and improve transfers at HCM City airport, and it has recently increased the number of its weekly flights to Paris CDG, Air France-KLM's main hub in Europe. Vietnam Airlines now flies eight times per week, up by two frequencies. Europe represents a turnover of €165 million in 2008 with three flights to Russia, Germany, and France. “We are currently working all together to bring Vietnam Airlines IT system to Skyteam’s standards”, said Gourgeon.

A new partner to be officially confirmed soon is Indonesia’s national carrier Garuda. “We are very pleased to support the candidacy of Garuda, a long-standing partner of us in Asia,” explained Peter Hartman, president and CEO of KLM. “In our last meeting, we decided to support Garuda’s process into Skyteam in conjunction with Korean Air and Delta Air Lines. I believe, however, that the process would take a year until Garuda’s official entry,” he explained. Year 2011 is also seen as the possible entry date by Garuda management as recently confirmed in exclusivity to eTurboNews by Emirsyah Satar, president and CEO of Garuda. “The soonest, the better. We now work on upgrading our reservation’s system and look to expand our fleet from 66 to 116 aircraft by 2014”, said Satar.

Air France is also looking closely at Japan Airlines. Hearing about the airline’s financial difficulties, Air France-KLM has joined Delta Air Lines and Skyteam to bid for a US$1.02 billion financial pakage to save the airline. The proposal by Delta and SkyTeam includes, among others, a US$500 million equity injection from SkyTeam and a US$300 million revenue guarantee from Delta. The Japanese carrier has just received the government’s approval for a loan of about yen 100 billion from the Development Bank of Japan bridge loans to keep itself operational after being granted authorization by the government. Gourgeon remains cautious about the outcome. “I can’t say more about it. It all depends [on] discussions’ results between the Japanese government and JAL management. We still do not know if the Japanese government will allow the entry of a foreign carrier into JAL ownership,” he said.

In India, Air France seems to have temporarily abandoned the idea to link up with an Indian carrier. “The air travel market is currently very difficult with few good opportunities to find a partner,” said Gourgeon cautiously.

A new terminal was put into use at the Lien Khuong airport in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Dec. 26.

The terminal with a 3,254m long and 45m wide runway will enable the Lien Khuong airport to serve international flights to northeast and other Southeast Asian nations in 2010.

The 12,400 sq.m terminal, which was built at a cost of 300 billion VND, is now capable of receiving 1.5-2 million passengers per year.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai highlighted the Southern Airports Corporation (SAC)’s efforts to design and build the terminal.

He asked the SAC to effectively manage and make full use of the airport to serve trade exchange and socio-cultural and economic development of Lam Dong province in particular and the Central Highlands in general./.

I flew into Cam Ranh last week and saw a spanking new Terminal, I was really impressed! Good to see Vietnam investing into it's future! But the downside is that the walls are decorated with tacky looking signs which didn't make the terminal look very modern, with the check-in too close to the walls with empty space in the middle, really a waste of space.

It also had 2 aero-bridges but we weren't allowed to use them for some reason.

jetstar executives questioned in Vietnam over $34 million

TWO senior Jetstar Pacific executives are reportedly being questioned in Vietnam and are not allowed to leave the country.

The chief operating officer, Daniela Marsilli, and the chief financial officer, Tristan Freeman, are being questioned over the loss of almost $34 million linked to petrol reserves costs, the ABC reports.

Jetstar Pacific's former chief executive, Luong Hoia Nam, was arrested yesterday.

A spokeswoman for Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said authorities had prevented two Australian employees of the company from leaving Vietnam.

Jetstar i cant comment on their service since i never flew with them, but you get what you pay for if you flying with cheap service carriers....

Sad to see the 777-200ERS gone from Melbourne, hopefully we might see one painted in SKYTEAM colors before the switch. Anyone knows where these 777's will be deployed to? some A330's are being freed from ICN and picking up the 777's but anywhere else, maybe a new service SGN > AMS? VN joining SKYTEAM which makes this route a possibility!

5-weekly (MEL)? They should increase it to 7 weekly because VN-flights from Melbourne are always crowded. I've flown VN from MEL for 3 times and always got stuck in a long line of passenger waiting to check-in and the flight also got delayed!

^^ Depends when you fly with VN on the MEL flights, during the TET new year & the end of year Holiday Break, yes the flights are always full, so does the other flights in the network as ex-paxs come home to visit families, But if you fly in between hloiday breaks then they wouldn't be full, only about average. Maybe VN joining SKYTEAM might help business orientated passengers then the flights would turn to daily as MEL is a high yeilding market for airlines, eg. SQ.

Thông qua VietJet Air, tập đoàn AirAsia sẽ mở rộng tầm hoạt động của mình tại Việt Nam, là thị trường hàng không tiềm năng mà AirAsia luôn muốn khai thác nhiều hơn như lời khẳng định của Tổng giám đốc của tập đoàn, ông Tony Fernandes, với Thời báo Kinh tế Sài Gòn Online năm 2009.

Vị trí đặt quảng cáo

Hiện tập đoàn AirAsia và các hãng hàng không thành viên đang khai thác các đường bay trực nối Malaysia, Thái Lan và Indonesia với Việt Nam. AirAsia cũng đang khai thác các chuyến bay tới Cambodia, Lào, Myanmar, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Trung Quốc, Ấn Độ, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka và Úc.

VietJet Air được Bộ Giao thông Vận tải cấp phép vào tháng 12-2007 với số vốn là 600 tỉ đồng và là hãng hàng không tư nhân đầu tiên được cấp phép tại Việt Nam. Năm 2009, Tổng giám đốc của hãng là ông Nguyễn Đức Tâm đã khẳng định với Thời báo Kinh tế Sài Gòn Online rằng mọi thủ tục và các khâu chuẩn bị đang được hoàn tất để hãng cất cánh vào tháng 5-2010.

Với việc đầu tư của AirAsia, VietJet Air sẽ hoạt động theo mô hình hàng không giá rẻ và sẽ cạnh tranh trực tiếp với chính hãng hàng không giá rẻ trong nước là Jetstar Pacific. Tập đoàn AirAsia đã từng không thành công với kế hoạch cùng tập đoàn Vinashin thành lập một liên doanh hàng không giá rẻ tại Việt Nam mặc dù cả hai bên đã ký ý định thư để thực hiện kế hoạch này vào tháng 8-2007.

Tuy nhiên, AirAsia vẫn không từ bỏ ý định thành lập liên doanh hàng không giá rẻ tại Việt Nam và tập đoàn đã thành công với VietJet Air khi hãng hàng không trong nước này đang rất cần cả vốn, nhân lực và kinh nghiệm để thực hiện chuyến bay thương mại đầu tiên vào tháng 5-2010 nếu không muốn bị rút giấy phép bay.

Đầu năm nay, Cục Hàng không đã rút thương quyền bay của Hãng hàng không tư nhân Đông Dương sau một thời gian hãng ngừng bay và không đáp ứng các điều kiện về tài chính cho các hoạt động bay.

Aviation market picks up speed

Vietnam’s aviation market has shown signs of pick-up in the first months of the year as both domestic and foreign firms launched new air routes and increased flight frequency.

Experts attributed the airlines’ business expansion to the world’s economy and positive changes in the domestic market.

Right after Viva Macau Airlines launched a direct route from Macau to Hanoi with three flights a week in early February, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines opened services to Japan’s Osaka, Myanmar’s Yangon and Shanghai city, China.

The low-price Jetstar Asia announced that it will double the number of flights connecting Singapore and Vietnam to 14 per week in July.

Airlines that provide cargo transport services also are also determined not to miss the chance.

Cathay Pacific decided to increase cargo transport flights between Hong Kong and Hanoi from two to three a week in March, while Hong Kong Airlines plans to launch a Hong Kong-Ho Chi Minh City service in May.

The same time, Malaysian Neptune Air will open a route to Hanoi with two flights a week.

The launch of new air routes and increase of flight frequency will turn up the heat in Vietnam ’s aviation market, especially in air fare and shipping fee.

The country’s aviation market is forecast to see a growth rate of 20-25 percent this year compared to 8.4 percent last year.

Vietnam Airlines to open routes to Shanghai

The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines (VNA), has announced its plans to open two routes from Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi to Shanghai, China on March 28 and 29, respectively.

There will be seven flights a week by A321 aircraft. VNA will offer competitive prices (US$80-150 for a return ticket) in order to attract travellers from and to Vietnam.

VNA has also become the official sponsor for this year’s .Hue festival with a financial assistance budget of VND400 million. Art troupes from five continents will take part in activities of the 2010 Hue Festival scheduled for June 5-13.

Vietnam Airlines opposes VietJet Air’s share sale

Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has recently sent a petition to prime minister opposing the investment cooperation (under any ways) between cheap air carrier-Air Asia (Malaysia) and VietJet Air Aviation Joint Stock Co (VJA) to establish VietJet AirAsia-a cheap aviation carrier.

The above petition was sent after VJA sold 30 percent stake to AirAsia.

In the document sent to prime minister, VNA said that allowing cheap air carriers massively joining Vietnam market and seeking way to buy domestic “trade marks” cheaply will be likely to cause serious impacts on the existence and development of Vietnam’s newly established aviation firms.

Talking with Tuoi Tre (youth) newspaper, Nguyen Duc Tam, VJA’s general director said that till date, AirAsia has finalised all procedures to buy shares into VJA. Tam affirmed that “VJA having foreign shareholder is completely suitable with Vietnam’s law. With the holding of 30 percent stake, AirAsia plays only role as a shareholder in the local firm. The company’s all strategic decisions will be decided by the director board under the majority principle”.

PARIS (AFP) – Air France signed a code share agreement with Vietnam Airlines that will allow clients to fly directly from Paris to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, the French company said on Friday.

The flights, three times a week, will be operated by Vietnam Airlines in a Boeing 777-200 using Air France's "AF" flight code starting July 3, the airline said in a statement.

The deal will allow Air France to offer six flights to Hanoi per week and seven to Ho Chi Minh City, which includes routes stopping over in Bangkok.

Under the agreement, Air France will operate later this year non-stop flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Paris, also three times a week.

VietJet AirAsia to hit skies in August


HA NOI — Viet Nam-based low-cost airline VietJet AirAsia would make its first commercial flight in August, said AirAsia general director Tony Fernandes yesterday.

Fernandes was at a signing ceremony for the strategic partnership agreement between Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia and local VietJet Aviation (http://vietjetair.com/), held in Ha Noi.

The ceremony was witnessed by Malaysian Prime Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak and Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, as well as representatives of the two countries' ministries.

AirAsia has bought a 30-per-cent stake in Viet Jet Aviation to establish the new carrier.

Fernandes said the two governments had supported the operation of VietJet Air Asia. He said the carrier would help increase tourism to both countries and enhance the nations' relationship and promote the integration process in ASEAN.

The agreement would strengthen co-operation between Viet Nam and Malaysia towards common targets of the region's economic development, he said.

VietJet Air general director Nguyen Duc Tam said advantage would be taken of Air Asia's technology and experience to ensure quality and safety.

Fernandes also said there would be no competition between Vietnam Airlines and VietJet AirAsia as their market segments were different.

The carrier would operate both domestic and international flights, he said.

VietJet Air main shareholders were Sovico Group, T$C Group and the housing development joint stock commercial bank.

The first privately owned Vietnamese airline, it was launched in 2007 with an initial investment capital of VND600 billion (US$37.5 million).

AirAsia is the biggest budget carrier in Asia with a wide network of flight routes in ASEAN. With its associated budget carrier, Asia X, AirAsia flies to destinations in mainland China, Taiwan, Australia and the UK. Nhằm Hưởng ứng chương trình "Hành trình nối đồng bằng sông Cửu Long và di sản văn hóa miền Trung" từ 06/04/2010 đến 31/12/2010, Vietnam Airlines vừa công bố sẽ giảm giá một số đường bay quốc nội và quốc tế từ nay đến cuối năm 2010.


Theo đó, giá vé đối với những hành khách mua vé bay quốc nội có giá như sau: Đối với chặng bay từ Cần Thơ đến Nha Trang/Đà Lạt và ngược lại có giá từ 750.000 đồng; từ Cần Thơ đến Huế/Đà Nẵng hoặc ngược lại giá từ 800.000 đồng và từ Cần Thơ đến Vinh hoặc ngược lại giá từ 1.160.000 đồng/vé.
Đối với đường bay quốc tế, Vietnam Airlines cũng giảm giá một số đường bay sau: hành trình xuất phát từ TP.HCM đến Singapore giá vé chỉ còn 60 USD (tương đương 1.100.000đ), áp dụng cho chuyến bay VN 743 khởi hành lúc 16h35, xuất phát từ ngày 9/4/2010 đến 10/6/2010, không áp dụng cho các hành trình chiều đi trong ngày cao điểm từ 23/4/2010 đến 3/5/2010.


Vé máy bay từ TP.HCM đi Nhật cũng giảm còn từ 380 USD (tương đương 7.000.000đ), áp dụng cho các vé có thời hạn xuất vé và hành trình khởi hành từ trong khoảng thời gian từ ngày 10/04/2010 đến 30/06/2010, không áp dụng trong giai đoạn từ cao điểm từ ngày quốc tế lao động 1/5/2010 đến 5/5/2010.
Ngoài ra, hãng hàng không này cũng giảm giá cho các chặng bay từ Việt Nam đến Mỹ với mức giá từ 750 USD (tương đương 13.800.000đ), áp dụng cho các vé xuất trong khoảng thời gian từ 5/4/2010 đến 31/5/2010, không áp dụng từ 1/6/2010 đến 31/8/2010 và 11/12/2010 đến 24/12/2010.

Cathay Pacific khai thác hai đường bay thẳng đến Milan và Matxcova

(VEN) - Hãng hàng không Cathay Pacific vừa công bố đưa vào khai thác đường bay thẳng từ Hồng Kông đi Milan (Ý), và dự kiến khai thác đường bay thẳng tiếp theo từ Hồng Kông đi Matxcova (Nga) vào ngày 13/7/2010 tới.


Cả hai đường bay mới này sẽ sử dụng máy bay Boeing 777 – 300ER và hoạt động với tần suất ba và bốn chuyến mỗi tuần. Hành khách bay của hãng tại Việt Nam có thể đến Milan và Matxcova từ dịch vụ bay của Cathay Pacific tại TP. HCM và Dragonair tại Hà Nội.

Máy bay suýt hạ cánh xuống đầu ô tô tại Nội Bài
(Dân trí) - Máy bay của hãng vận chuyển quốc tế Fedex chuẩn bị hạ cánh xuống sân bay Nội Bài thì bất ngờ phát hiện chiếc ô tô đang nằm giữa đường băng, phi công lập tức cho máy bay vọt lên. Nhiều cán bộ liên quan đến vụ việc đã bị tạm đình chỉ công tác.

Sự việc xảy ra vào cuối tháng 3 vừa qua khi một máy bay của hãng vận chuyển quốc tế Fedex chuẩn bị hạ cánh xuống sân bay Nội Bài.

Sau khi nhận được thông báo an toàn từ phía kiểm soát không lưu, phi công điều khiển chiếc máy bay hạ thấp độ cao thì bất ngờ phát hiện một chiếc ô tô đang nằm trên đường băng.

Ngay lập tức, máy bay phải bay vọt lên. Chiếc ô tô sau đó được xác định đang làm nhiệm vụ tẩy rửa đường băng.

Quan chức Cục Hàng không xác nhận một số cán bộ, nhân viên tài đài kiểm soát không lưu và vận hành chiếc ô tô đã bị đình chỉ công tác để cơ quan hữu quan tiến hành điều tra vụ việc.

MÁY BAY XUÝT ĐÂM NHAU TRÊN BẦU TRỜI HN
Ngày 13-4, cơ trưởng Hãng hàng không Jetstar Pacific báo cáo máy bay của hãng này suýt đâm máy bay của Vietnam Airlines, Cục Hàng Không Việt Nam cho biết.
Theo viên cơ trưởng, chuyến bay từ TPHCM đi Hà Nội mang số hiệu BL810 ngày 28-3 vừa qua chuẩn bị hạ cánh bỗng dưng phát hiện máy bay A320 của Vietnam Airlines ở độ cao hướng ngược lại. Khoảng cách không lưu giữa 2 máy bay được cơ trưởng phản ánh là 1.400 feet, tầm nhìn xa 2 dặm (khoảng 4 km). Ngay lập tức, máy bay JP đã phải bay vòng, tránh được một tai nạn thảm khốc.

Ngay sau đó, ông Nguyễn Văn Chén - Giám đốc Công ty Bảo đảm hoạt động bay miền Bắc (ĐBHĐBMB) cho biết, ngoài việc tạm đình chỉ, tước giấy phép những nhân viên liên quan, Trung tâm Kiểm soát Tiếp cận mặt đất cũng bị khiển trách.

Ông Chén cũng cho biết thêm: Kíp trực vừa rồi toàn những người giàu kinh nghiệm gần hai mươi năm trong nghề nhưng vẫn để xảy ra sự cố.


Sau vụ việc này, Cty ĐBHĐBMB đã bố trí lại lực lượng như bổ sung người có năng lực, rút kinh nghiệm nghiêm khắc.

Cty ĐBHĐBMB có 170 kiểm soát viên không lưu. Ở sân bay Nội Bài mỗi ngày phải kiểm soát, hướng dẫn khoảng 150 chuyến.

Cùng với sự cố “máy bay suýt đè lên ô tô” vừa qua, đây là một cảnh báo đối với các hãng hàng không, sân bay về đảm bảo độ an toàn cho máy bay khi hạ cánh.

Lao Động Điện tử Cập nhật: (LĐĐT) - Sau khi hủy tám chuyến bay đi Châu Âu vì bụi núi lửa từ Iceland, tối 17.4, Hãng hàng không Quốc gia Việt Nam (Vietnam Airlines) hủy thêm hai chuyến bay từ Hà Nội đi Mátxcơva, Nga. Hai chuyến bay bị hủy là chuyến VN525 Hà Nội-Mátxcơva (khởi hành dự kiến lúc 10 giờ 25 sáng) và chuyến bay VN524 Mátxcơva-Hà Nội (khởi hành dự kiến lúc 20 giờ) do khói bụi dự kiến sẽ ảnh hưởng xấu tới khu vực sân bay Domodedovo (Mátxcơva).

Ông Lê Hoàng Dũng, người phát ngôn của Vietnam Airlines cho biết, ngày 16.4, chuyến bay VN533 Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh-Paris (khởi hành tối 15.4 lúc 22 giờ 50) đã được chuyển đổi hành trình đến Mátxcơva (Nga) và toàn bộ hành khách trên chuyến bay hiện đang tạm dừng tại sân bay Domodedovo. Vietnam Airlines sẽ bố trí đưa hành khách của chuyến bay trên tiếp tục sang Paris trong thời gian sớm nhất có thể.

Vietnam receives first ATR72-500 airplane

The Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company (VALC) has received the first ATR72-500 under a contract to buy these 5 airplanes between the company and France’s Avion de Transport Regional (ATR).

VALC will transfer this airplane to the Vietnam Airlines Corporation (VAC) following a previously signed leasing contract between the two companies.

Other four ATR72-500 airplanes are scheduled to be given in June, September, October and December.

VALC was established by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) under a Prime Minister decision. Its shareholders are state groups and corporations.

Sân bay Long Thành khởi động
Sân bay có 4 đường cất, hạ cánh đạt tiêu chuẩn quốc tế: dài 4.000 m, rộng 60 m
Phó Thủ tướng Hoàng Trung Hải vừa chỉ đạo Bộ GTVT khẩn trương thành lập hội đồng thẩm định quy hoạch cảng hàng không quốc tế Long Thành (tỉnh Đồng Nai), đồng thời chuẩn bị đề cương tham chiếu để lựa chọn tư vấn lập báo cáo nghiên cứu khả thi, trình Thủ tướng xem xét trong tháng 10-2010 để chuẩn bị khởi động dự án sân bay quốc tế Long Thành.

Gấp 4 lần sân bay Tân Sơn Nhất

Theo phương án của Tổng Công ty Cảng hàng không miền Nam (SAC) trình UBND tỉnh Đồng Nai, cảng hàng không quốc tế Long Thành là sân bay cấp 4F, được xây dựng trên diện tích 5.000 ha, có năng lực vận chuyển tối đa 100 triệu khách và 5 triệu tấn hàng hóa/năm, tiếp nhận máy bay loại lớn A380-800 và tương đương. Tổng mức đầu tư ước hơn 10 tỉ USD.

Do đó, Phó Thủ tướng Hoàng Trung Hải đề nghị các bên liên quan cần bổ sung cập nhật về quy hoạch các loại hình giao thông khác như đường bộ, đường sắt, đường thủy để đáp ứng việc kết nối với cảng hàng không trung chuyển. Như vậy, sân bay quốc tế Long Thành có quy mô lớn gấp 4 lần sân bay Tân Sơn Nhất và là một trung tâm kinh tế lớn.

Trong đó, khu vực lõi trung tâm có các hành lang tổ hợp dịch vụ hàng không, là cửa ngõ thúc đẩy phát triển kinh tế vùng, cũng là đầu mối giao thông liên kết tất cả các hoạt động liên quan đến sân bay.

Khi hình thành và đi vào hoạt động, cảng hàng không quốc tế Long Thành là điển hình của một hình thái đô thị mới với nhiều chức năng hoạt động.

Theo tư vấn thiết kế của Công ty Hansen Partnership (Uc), cảng hàng không quốc tế Long Thành được xây dựng gồm 8 khu chức năng: văn phòng, bãi đỗ xe (cửa ngõ Tây Nam sân bay), kho tàng, trung tâm trung chuyển và kho hàng bảo quản đông lạnh (hướng Tây Bắc sân bay), khu chế biến và luân chuyển hàng hóa trong thời gian ngắn (hướng Tây Nam), khách sạn, dịch vụ vui chơi giải trí, khu phi thuế quan, sân golf...

Giải tỏa 5.000 hộ dân

Để đẩy nhanh tiến độ dự án, UBND tỉnh Đồng Nai vừa đề nghị các cơ quan chức năng của tỉnh tạo điều kiện thuận lợi để Tổng Công ty Cảng hàng không miền Nam khảo sát địa chất, thu thập số liệu vùng về hạ tầng, dân cư để đến tháng 10-2010 phải hoàn tất báo cáo trình Bộ GTVT và Chính phủ phê duyệt, lập dự án. Để thực hiện dự án này, có khoảng 5.000 hộ bị giải tỏa, trong đó có trên 3.000 hộ bị giải tỏa trắng.

Trước đó, từ tháng 5-2009, UBND tỉnh Đồng Nai đã đề nghị các ngành chức năng chuẩn bị các bước bàn giao 282 ha đất cao su, đồng thời sắp xếp tài chính để cung ứng vốn cho tỉnh thực hiện khu tái định cư dành cho những hộ dân bị giải tỏa.

Trước những yêu cầu cấp bách đặt ra cho công tác đền bù, giải phóng mặt bằng trong thời gian tới, lãnh đạo tỉnh Đồng Nai đã giao cho UBND huyện Long Thành sớm lập dự án và hoàn tất các thủ tục pháp lý để triển khai xây dựng khu tái định cư.

Sốt đất

Sân bay quốc tế Long Thành được quy hoạch nằm trên địa bàn các xã Long Phước, Long An, Bình Sơn, Suối Trầu, Bàu Cạn, Cẩm Đường (huyện Long Thành), cách trung tâm TPHCM 40 km, cách Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu 70 km và nằm cạnh Quốc lộ 51.

Hiện vị trí quy hoạch đã được tỉnh Đồng Nai cắm 4 cọc mốc chính và 150 cọc mốc phụ để xác định ranh giới quy hoạch ngoài thực địa, đồng thời nghiêm cấm việc xây dựng, tách thửa và chuyển nhượng trên đất nông nghiệp.

Tuy nhiên, ngày 9-6, một cán bộ xã Long An cho biết khi có thông tin quy hoạch sân bay, người dân đã bán tháo đất đai. Hiện tình trạng đất sang tay, bán nền với diện tích lớn vẫn được giao dịch ngầm để đón quy hoạch nên tình trạng rất phức tạp.

Ngoài ra, xung quanh dự án sân bay cũng có nhiều công ty, doanh nghiệp tư nhân, doanh nghiệp vận tải mua đất để xây dựng kho bãi cho thuê.

Sau thời gian trên, nếu thị trường tăng trưởng tốt, VNA sẽ xem xét nâng tần suất hoặc đưa loại máy bay lớn vào khai thác nhằm đáp ứng nhu cầu thị trường. Về giá vé, VNA sẽ áp dụng nhiều mức giá từ 500.000 đồng đến 1.181.000/chiều (chưa gồm VAT, lệ phí sân bay). Trong giai đoạn đầu, các vé có thời gian khởi hành từ ngày 30/6 – 15/7/2010 sẽ được VNA áp dụng mức giá khuyến mại là 400.000 đồng/chiều.

VNA cũng đang phối hợp với các Cty lữ hành tại Đà Nẵng và Lâm Đồng để xây dựng các chương trình trọn gói ưu đãi với việc giảm giá vé máy bay và giá dịch vụ mặt đất, đồng thời kết hợp đường bay Nha Trang - Đà Nẵng để tạo nên sự đa dạng về sản phẩm nhằm đáp ứng nhu cầu của khách hàng.

Tăng thêm chuyến bay TPHCM- Kuala Lumpur
Như vậy, cùng với các đường bay hiện tại, Vietnam Airlines sẽ khai thác tổng số 11 chuyến/tuần từ Hà Nội/TPHCM đi Kuala Lumpur.

Đáp ứng nhu cầu đi lại ngày càng tăng của hành khách và thực hiện chiến lược mở rộng khai thác đến khu vực Đông Nam Á, từ 18/6, Vietnam Airlines tăng thêm tần suất thứ hai trên đường bay TPHCM – Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) với 4 chuyến/tuần vào các ngày thứ: 3, 5, 6 và Chủ nhật.

Nhân dịp này, Vietnam Airlines công bố Chương trình khuyến mại trên các chuyến bay có số hiệu VN759 khai thác chặng TPHCM đến Kuala Lumpur với mức giá hấp dẫn 60 USD/người (chưa tính thuế và các khoản lệ phí khác). Chương trình được áp dụng cho vé xuất tại Việt Nam từ 10/6/2010 và hành trình khởi hành từ ngày 18/6/2010 đến 11/7/2010./.

Siem Reap-to-Da Lat air route wins support

DIRECT flights should be established to facilitate tourists travelling between Siem Reap and Da Lat, in the southern part of Vietnam’s Central Highlands, Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism Thong Khon has said.

Urging Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation to investigate the issue, he said flights between the tourism hubs could lure an additional half a million tourists per year.

He estimated that 300,000 could arrive in Siem Reap from Da Lat, with 200,000 travelling the other way each year.

Thong Khon made the comments after meeting with a delegation of high-ranking officials from Vietnam.

“We will help facilitate the flights, and open representative offices in the respective provinces to ensure the process of exchanging tourists can be successfully carried out,” added the Tourism Minister.

The chairman of the people’s committee of Lam Dong province, the home of Da Lat, said Vietnam wished to have direct flights between Da Lat and the Kingdom in the near future.

“Under an exchange agreement the two countries will have a chance to increase visitors, which would generate a lot of income for [the] national economy,” Huynh Duchoa said Monday after meeting Thong Khon.

Located approximately 300 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong province was visited by approximately 2.6 million tourists last year, of which 15 percent were foreign.

It is known as one of Vietnam’s most productive agircultural provinces and currently has no direct air link with Cambodia.

Cambodia’s Siem Reap province is located 362 kilometres from Phnom Penh, and is visited by approximately 2 million tourists per year, of which half are from abroad, statistics show.

Of the 2.16 million foreign tourists who visited Cambodia in 2009, an estimated 316,202 visitors were Vietnamese.

During the Mekong Tourism Forum in Siem Reap last May, Ministry of Tourism officials highlighted Vietnam as a potential source of more flights to the Kingdom following Thailand’s recent political unrest.

“Before, Bangkok was the main gateway for tourists from Europe and from America.

“But because it has big problems, maybe tourists will use other gateways such as Vietnam or Kuala Lumpur or Singapore,” Ministry of Tourism Secretary of State Kousom Saroeuth said previously.

Hôm 14/6, hình ảnh một chiếc máy bay của hãng hàng không Mekong Air đã xuất hiện trên trang web jetphotos.net, do một thành viên của trang này đưa lên. Dự kiến đến tháng 10/2010, chuyến bay đầu tiên của hãng sẽ cất cánh.

Thông tin từ trang web cho thấy, đây là chiếc máy bay đầu tiên trong số 4 chiếc Bombardier CRJ-900ER, do Hãng hàng không tư nhân Mekong Air của Việt Nam, sở hữu.


Bức ảnh được xác định là chụp tại sân bay quốc tế Shannon (mã hiệu ICAO là EINN), phía đông Ireland. Chiếc máy bay với màu sơn trắng là chủ đạo, cùng với logo, tên của hãng là Air Mekong. Số hiệu tàu bay là EI-DUY. Tuy nhiên, do chưa xin phép cơ quan chức năng đưa vào sử dụng nên chiếc máy bay chưa có mã hiệu chuyến bay Việt Nam.

Ông Võ Huy Cường, Trưởng ban Vận tải Hàng không (Cục Hàng không Việt Nam) cho biết, hãng Mekong Air đang trong quá trình xin cấp chứng chỉ bay (AOC). Dự kiến, hãng sẽ cất cánh vào tháng 10 này. 2 năm kể từ khi được cấp phép (5/10/2008), nếu hãng này không bay sẽ bị thu hồi.

Đây là hãng hàng không tư nhân thứ ba ở Việt Nam được cấp phép, sau Indochina Airlines và VietJet Air.

Một nguồn tin chưa kiểm chứng cũng cho hay, hãng Skywest Airlines của Mỹ tham gia hùn vốn vào Mekong Air. Điều kiện về tài chính để một hãng bay có thể cất cánh tại Việt Nam là 200 tỷ đồng nếu bay nội địa và 500 tỷ đồng nếu bay quốc tế.

Theo hồ sơ xin cấp phép bay, đội bay của hãng hãng dự kiến có 10 chiếc, bay trên các đường bay nội địa. Các chủng loại máy bay như Bombadier, Embraer hoặc ATR72 có số ghế dưới 100 chỗ sẽ được nhắm đến.

Riêng chiếc Bombardier CRJ-900ER là máy bay chở khách hạng nhỏ, với số lượng hành khách khoảng 90 người, tốc độ bay khoảng 850 km/h.

Hãng hàng không tư nhân khác là Công ty CP Hàng không VietJet (VietJet Air) nhiều khả năng sẽ bay vào quý IV năm nay, thay vì tháng 8/2010 như dự kiến. Hãng này cũng đang trong giai đoạn hoàn tất việc xin cấp chứng chỉ bay.

Cục Hàng không Việt Nam yêu cầu, VietJet Air phải xây dựng logo, biểu tượng mới chứ không được sử dụng tên thương mại dự kiến VietJet AirAsia do dễ gây nhầm lẫn với hãng Air Asia - tập đoàn của Malaysia đã đầu tư 30% cổ phần vào VietJet.

Đến nay, hãng thông báo đã huy động được 600 tỷ đồng vốn điều lệ, bao gồm 8 triệu USD tiền đặt cọc thuê mua 3 máy bay Airbus A320.

Việt Nam có 5 hãng hàng không đang hoạt động và đã được cấp giấy phép gồm Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, VASCO, Vietjet Air và Indochina Airlines.

Vietnam to launch more direct flight to Yangon

YANGON, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnam Airline will launch a new air route to directly link Ho Chi Minh city with Myanmar's Yangon to enhance trade between the two countries, the local Myanmar Newsweek reported Thursday.

International passengers from the Vietnamese city will not transit through Hanoi for trip to Yangon, thus saving time if the direct link is established, the weekly quoted airline circle as saying.

Starting October, the Vietnamese airline will fly four times a week, using 150-seat A-320 airbus, the report said.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Airline has increased its services between Hanoi and Yangon to five flights a week since June in a bid to boost tourism of the two countries, while planning flights to two more tourist sites of Bagan and Mandalay as part of the move.

When both flights are in service, there will be nine flights a week between Yangon and the two Vietnamese cities.

The Vietnam airline started flying Hanoi-Yangon on March 2 this year using Fokker-70 aircraft.

Vietnam Airlines represents Myanmar's 6th foreign airline that has direct link with Yangon after those of Thailand, Singapore, India, Malaysia and China.

The 13 foreign airlines flying Yangon comprise Air China, China Southern Airline, Thai Airways International, Indian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Silk Air, Malaysian Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Mandarin, Jetstar Asia, Phuket Airline, Thai Air Asia and Vietnam Airlines.

Air Mekong is seeking approval from the authorities to start flights on October 10 this year linking Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with popular tourist destinations in Vietnam, including Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc and Con Dao.

Truong Thanh Vu, a senior manager at Air Mekong, said the four airplanes will allow the carrier to operate 28-30 flights every day. He said 40 American pilots have been recruited and 50 flight attendants are being trained.

Vu said a partner wants to buy a 30 percent stake in Air Mekong, but the plan is still pending government permission and thus further details cannot be disclosed now.

The Wall Street Journal reported on August 4 that SkyWest plans to invest US$7 million for a 30 percent stake in Air Mekong.

VietJet Air, the first private airline to be licensed in Vietnam, sold a 30 percent stake to Malaysia’s low cost carrier AirAsia. It was expected to launch its first flight this month, but it has delayed it until the end of this year.

Indochina Airlines, the first private airline to operate in Vietnam, suspended its services earlier this year due to debt problems.

Third Private Carrier Flies Vietnam's Skies
KIEN GIANG (Vietnam), Oct 11 (Bernama) -- Air Mekong, Vietnam's third private airline, received its Air Operator's Certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) in southern Kien Giang province on Oct 8, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

On the same day, the carrier also launched its first two routes, Hanoi - Phu Quoc and HCM City - Phu Quoc.

"The Vietnamese aviation market is dramatically developing. The aviation demand, especially for domestic flights, will increase considerably in the next few years," said CAAV deputy director Dinh Viet Thang.

"The introduction of Air Mekong is essential to meeting market demand, diversifying aviation services and increasing competitiveness," Thang said.

"The CAAV's certificate will open up a new page for our development", said Air Mekong chairman Doan Quoc Viet.

Air Mekong would start commercial operations since Oct 9 with eight flights from Ha Noi and HCM City to Phu Quoc, Con Dao, Buon Me Thuot, Pleiku, Viet said, adding that they would expand operations to 10 flights from November including destinations of Da Lat in the Central Highlands and Da Nang city.

The airline has launched a promotional offer until November 9 with 1,000 tickets at prices ranging from 400,000 VND to 1.2 million VND (US$20.50 - US$61.50) for flights on all its domestic routes. Tickets are on sale at travel agents and via Air Mekong's website and customer care centres.

Air Mekong was establish in 2009 by Ha Long Investment and Development Company and is based at Phu Quoc Airport. The existing two private carriers operating in Vietnam are Indochina Airlines and VietJet AirAsia.

The CAAV said there were also a number of other organisations and individuals planning to launch airlines. To qualify, private operators must have a charter capital of at least 500 billion VND (US$26.3 million) to fly internationally and 200 billion VND (US$10.5 million) to launch domestic flights. Jetstar Pacific nhận máy bay A320 mới tinh của Airbus

Một chiếc máy bay Airbus A320 mới sản xuất của tập đoàn sản xuất máy bay hàng đầu thế giới Airbus vừa được bàn giao cho hãng hàng không giá rẻ Việt Nam.
Chiếc máy bay này đã được đăng ký quốc tịch Việt Nam với số hiệu đăng ký VN-A198 và sẽ thực hiện những chuyến bay thương mại đầu tiên trong lịch sử của mình trên đường bay nội địa Việt Nam từ ngày 20/10.

Đây là sự kiện quan trọng đánh dấu sự khởi đầu của việc Jetstar Pacific chuyển đổi đội của máy bay từ kết hợp Boeing - Airbus sang đội máy bay đồng nhất gồm toàn bộ máy bay A320 mới. Hoạt động này cũng nằm trong kế hoạch phát triển đổi bay của Jetsar Pacific lên đến 15 chiếc Airbus A320 từ nay đến năm 2014 nhằm nâng cao chất lượng phục vụ hành khách, hiệu quả khai thác và khả năng cạnh tranh.

Máy bay Airbus A320 mới này thuộc dòng máy bay phản lực tầm trung, được thiết kế gồm 180 ghế hạng phổ thông, tầm bay liên tục khi đầy tải là 4.800 km, được đánh giá có khoang hành khách rộng và ít tiêu hao nhiên liệu nhất so với các loại máy bay cùng loại có thiết kế một lối đi giữa.

Đồng thời sẽ hỗ trợ rất nhiều cho kế hoạch tăng chuyến để phục vụ hành khách vào dịp cao điểm Tết nguyên đán sắp tới.

Đội bay của Jetstar Pacific hiện tại bao gồm 7 chiếc với 5 chiếc Boeing 737-400s và 02 chiếc Airbus A320, khai thác các điểm đi và đến 6 thành phố lớn nhất của Việt nam (Tp.Hồ Chí Minh, Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng, Huế, Vinh, Hải Phòng), với tần suất hơn 40 chuyến mỗi ngày.

I enjoyed my flights with Vietnam airlines (Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi and back). Was surprised they used such large aircraft! But it's obviously a busy rout. Shame they don't fly to Heathrow. Had to go via Kuala Lumpur with Malaysian (also a great airline).

Dự kiến mở đường bay Vinh - Đài Loan

TP - Một vị lãnh đạo Hãng hàng không Quốc gia Việt Nam (VNA) cho biết, có thể tới đây sẽ mở đường bay từ TP Vinh đi Đài Loan.



Theo đó, Phó Tổng giám đốc VNA Trịnh Hồng Quang, cho biết: Đường bay địa phương giữa Hà Nội - Vinh được mở từ tháng 5-2010 có hiệu suất sử dụng ghế lên đến hơn 80%. Đây là một bất ngờ vì đường bay này chỉ hơn 300 km. Trong tương lai sân bay Vinh sẽ là một sân bay nhiều tiềm năng.

Bên cạnh đó, vừa qua, các doanh nghiệp Đài Loan đã đề nghị với VNA mở thêm đường bay từ Vinh đi Đài Loan để tạo cầu nối phát triển kinh tế. Hiện có nhiều doanh nghiệp Đài Loan đang đầu tư tại Vũng Áng, Hà Tĩnh (cách TP Vinh khoảng 100 km).

Jetstar Pacific bán vé rẻ chặng Tp.HCM đi Huế, Vinh, Hải Phòng

Hãng hàng không giá rẻ Jetstar Pacific sẽ tiếp tục bán vé giá rẻ chỉ từ 255.000 đồng/chặng vào ngày thứ Sáu, 21/1.

Cụ thể, đợt bán vé rẻ lần này được mở trên các chuyến bay giữa Tp.HCM và Vinh, Huế, Hải Phòng, có ngày khởi hành trong giai đoạn từ 5-25/4/2011.

Mức giá từ 255.000 đồng/chặng được áp dụng cho tuyến bay giữa Tp.HCM và Huế. Hành trình Tp.HCM và Vinh, Hải Phòng có giá từ 555.000 đồng/chặng.

Chương trình sẽ được thực hiện bắt đầu từ 14-17h. Vé giá rẻ sẽ do hệ thống máy tính tự động phân phối tại trang web bán vé của Jetstar Pacific www.jetstar.com.

Mình đã đi mekong air vài lần. nói chung là máy bay rất mới. Chỗ ngồi hơi nhỏ so với các máy bay của Vietnam Âirlines với đội bay đa số là Boeing và Airbus. Thái độ phục vụ của tiếp viên khá tốt nhưng chưa chuyên nghiệp bằng Vietnam Airlines

Vietnam Airline vừa quyết định tăng tuyến và kế hoạch bán vé dịp Tết; trong đó, tuyến Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh – Hà Nội sẽ tăng 307 tuyến, tương ứng 63 nghìn ghế.

Theo đó, trong dịp điểm Tết Nguyên Đán từ 18 - 1 đến 20 – 2 - 2011 (tức từ 15 tháng Chạp đến 18 tháng Giêng), Tổng công ty Hàng không Việt Nam sẽ tăng thêm 100 nghìn chỗ, trong đó tập trung chủ yếu ở đường bay trục.

Cụ thể, trên đường bay Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh – Hà Nội sẽ tăng 307 chuyến bay, cung ứng thêm khoảng 63.000 ghế, tăng 41% so với thường lệ và 8% so với cùng kỳ cao điểm Tết Canh Dần.

Đường bay Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh – Đà Nẵng tăng 129 chuyến bay, cung ứng thêm 26.820 ghế, tăng 35% so với thường lệ và 24% so với cùng kỳ.

Do hiện tượng quá tải tại các cảng hàng không trong giờ cao điểm, Vietnam Airlines sẽ triển khai các chuyến bay đêm trong giai đoạn cao điểm Tết. Đặc biệt, trong khoảng thời gian từ 24 đến 29 tháng Chạp và mồng 3 đến 13 tháng Giêng, Vietnam Airlines sẽ thực hiện kế hoạch khai thác 24/24 giờ trên đường bay trục để đáp ứng nhu cầu của nhân dân.

Để hạn chế tình trạng “đầu cơ” vé, Vietnam Airlines mở bán lượng chỗ tăng thêm thành nhiều đợt trên cơ sở bám sát tình hình cung – cầu thị trường. Theo kế hoạch, hãng sẽ mở bán khoảng 50% số chỗ tăng thêm trong đợt một (ngày 10 – 12 - 2010), 20% trong đợt hai (khoảng ngày 20 -12 - 2010), 20% trong đợt ba (ngày 3 – 1 - 2011) và toàn bộ số ghế còn lại trong đợt bốn (ngày 17 – 1 - 2011).

- Hành khách nên đặt chỗ và mua vé tại các phòng vé và đại lý chính thức của hãng (Danh sách các đại lý chính thức được đăng tải trên website của Vietnam Airlines: www.vietnamairlines.com).

- Trong dịp cao điểm Tết, Vietnam Airlines và các đại lý chính thức không thu thêm bất kỳ khoản phí nào ngoài giá vé đã công bố và các khoản thuế, lệ phí theo quy định của Nhà nước (thuế VAT, thuế sân bay).

- Khi mua vé, khách hàng nên kiểm tra kỹ các thông tin về hạng đặt chỗ và mức giá vé được in trên tờ hành trình, so sánh với mức giá niêm yết; đồng thời yêu cầu nơi bán vé xuất hóa đơn theo qui định của Nhà nước.

- Để tránh tình trạng quá tải tại các sân bay, đặc biệt là sân bay Nội Bài, Tân Sơn Nhất, Cam Ranh và Đà Nẵng…, hành khách nên sắp xếp kế hoạch đi lại sớm và phù hợp trong đó cân nhắc tới các ngày cao điểm trong dịp Tết và lưu ý có mặt tại sân bay sớm ba tiếng trước giờ khởi hành để đảm bảo việc làm thủ tục lên máy bay thuận lợi.

Indochina Airlines sẽ cất cánh trở lại cùng đồng phục mới

Pilot.vn- Để chuẩn bị cho lần cất cánh vào hạ tuần tháng này, hãng hàng không tư nhân Indochina Airlines đã quyết định thay đổi đồng phục dành cho đội ngũ tiếp viên hãng.
Sau thời gian tạm ngừng bay để tái cấu trúc lại bộ máy hoạt động và chuẩn bị cho lần cất cánh lại, Tổng giám đốc Hà Hùng Dũng cũng như ban lãnh đạo hãng quyết định thay đổi đồng phục của các tiếp viên với mong muốn, sẽ mang đến sự cảm nhận về chất lượng dịch vụ cũng như hình ảnh một Indochina Airlines mới hơn trong lòng hành khách.

Bộ đồng phục mới này do nhà thiết kế Công Trí thiết kế. Các tiếp viên của hãng sẽ mặc chiếc váy ngắn màu ghi đậm đi cùng áo sơ mi trắng, tay dài và áo ghi lê cùng màu với váy. Trên cổ tay áo có in logo cùng dòng chữ Indochina Airlines màu vàng tươi. Phụ kiện đi cùng mẫu đồng phục mới này là chiếc nơ rất xinh xắn có màu vàng tươi trên cổ cùng đồ buột tóc có in hình logo cùng dòng chữ Indochina Airlines.

Được biết, bộ đồng phục mà các tiếp viên Indochina Airlines mặc trong thời gian vừa qua mang đậm phong cách truyền thống được thiết kế bởi nhà thiết kế nổi tiếng Minh Hạnh.

Là hãng hàng không tư nhân Việt Nam đầu tiên đi vào hoạt động, Indochina Airlines có chuyến bay thương mại đầu tiên của mình vào ngày 25/11/2008. Theo kế hoạch, ban đầu hãng sẽ khai thác chặng bay giữa TP.HCM – Hà Nội và chặng TP.HCM – Đà Nẵng bằng hai máy bay Boeing 737-800. Sau đó nếu điều kiện thuận lợi hãng sẽ khai thác các tuyến bay đến Huế, Nha Trang, Đà Lạt, Phú Quốc... và đặt mục tiêu vận chuyển 1 triệu lượt hành khách/năm cùng quy mô đội bay lên đến 10 máy bay… Tuy nhiên, sau thời gian vận hành khoảng một năm, bất chấp tỉ suất ghế ngồi trên các chuyến bay của hãng tăng trưởng rất nhanh và tốt (trên 80%), nhưng do sức ép từ giá nhiên liệu cộng chi phí vận hành quá cao khiến doanh thu không bù đủ vào các khoản chi khổng lồ, đó cũng chính là nguyên nhân khiến Indochina Airlines rơi vào tình cảnh khó khăn về tài chính tạm ngừng bay vào cuối tháng 11 vừa qua để cấu trúc lại hãng.

Tổng giám đốc Hà Hùng Dũng nói thêm với PILOT.vn rằng: “Chúng tôi đang nỗ lực đàm phán với các đối tác cũng như các cơ quan hữu quan. Theo kế hoạch, chuyến bay trở lại sẽ cất cánh vào ngày 25/12 tới. Nếu mọi thứ suôn sẻ, chúng tôi sẽ đưa vào vận hành thêm một máy bay Boeing 737-800 nhằm khai thác trở lại tuyến TP.HCM- Đà Nẵng với tần suất 2 chuyến/ngày”.

Không hiểu tiêu chí đánh giá 1 hãng hàng ko là 5 sao hay 3 sao là ntn. Nhưng khi đi Malaysia Airlines đc đánh giá là 5 sao cũng chả hơn VA là mấy. Chắc còn do nhiều yếu tố khác như Sân bay,phòng chờ và các dịch vụ khác chăng.

Nếu bạn đi coach class thỉ 3 hay 5 sao không thành vấn đề. Hãng nào phục vụ giới nghèo gần giống nhau vì giá vé cũng rất cạnh tranh. Cái xếp hạng dùng sao chỉ cho khách đi business hay first class thôi.

Đây là Boeing 767-300ER đi thuê, cái livery sơn màu vàng này là của Royal Brunei Airlines. Chắc lúc đó còn nghèo cho nên lười sơn lại, sơn lại toàn chiếc như thế này mất khoảng 3 ~ 500k USD :lol:

Công ty Mỹ đề nghị đầu tư 7 sân bay tại miền Trung theo hình thức PPP

Công ty quản lý sân bay Mỹ vừa đề xuất ý tưởng đầu tư vào các sân bay tại khu vực miền Trung theo hình thức hợp tác công - tư (PPP). Đề xuất này do đại diện Tập đoàn Cedona Group, công ty tư vấn của ADC-HAS, gửi đến Bộ Kế hoạch và Đầu tư.

Các sân bay nằm trong đề xuất gồm Chu Lai, Phú Bài, Đà Nẵng, Tuy Hòa, Quy Nhơn, Pleiku và Cam Ranh. Theo Cedona Group, các sân bay này rất có tiềm năng và việc đầu tư vào đây cũng phù hợp với kế hoạch phát triển của Việt Nam.

Mở tuyến bay Cần Thơ - Đà Nẵng

TT - Ngày 14-4, ông Nguyễn Thanh Sơn - chủ tịch UBND TP Cần Thơ - cho biết Tổng công ty Hàng không Việt Nam (VNA) đã đồng ý mở tuyến bay Cần Thơ - Đà Nẵng nhưng chưa xác định thời gian. Riêng hai tuyến bay khác mà UBND TP Cần Thơ đề nghị mở là Cần Thơ - Liên Khương (Lâm Đồng) và Cần Thơ - Côn Đảo (Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu), VNA cho biết sẽ tiếp tục nghiên cứu.

Hiện Cần Thơ mới có hai tuyến bay nội địa là Cần Thơ - Hà Nội (hai chuyến/ngày) và Cần Thơ - Phú Quốc (một chuyến/ngày).

Quá đẹp, bây giờ mới thấy bên trong của nhà ga sân bay, nhìn đẹp quá. Sa6n bay cần thơ hình như cũng có ống lồng hay còn gọi là airwalk phải không? thấy hình đầu tiên có mấy cái ống màu xanh xanh phía sau nối ra ngoài đó, rồi thì không phải đi bộ ra máy bay đặc biệt khi trời mưa. Cảm ơn nhiều lắm. Hình đẹp.
À mà lại chuẩn bị mở đường bay Đà Nẵng Cần Thơ nữa, hay quá chừng. Tui thích Hội An lắm.

Air Mekong mở đường bay Vinh - Buôn Ma Thuột - TP.HCM

SGTT.VN - Sáng 26.9, tại thành phố Vinh, Công ty cổ phần hàng không Mekong (Air Mekong) phối hợp với UBND tỉnh Nghệ An tổ chức khai trương đường bay Vinh-Buôn Ma Thuột-TP.HCM.

Kể từ ngày 1.10, hàng tuần sẽ có 3 chuyến bay của Air Mekong nối từ Nghệ An với khu vực Tây Nguyên và TP.HCM Ảnh: airmekong.info

Phát biểu tại lễ công bố đường bay, ông Hồ Đức Phớc, phó bí thư tỉnh ủy, chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Nghệ An và đại diện cục Hàng không Việt Nam đánh giá cao việc Air Mekong là hãng hàng không đầu tiên, đi đầu trong việc kết nối các tỉnh Tây Nguyên với các tỉnh Bắc Trung bộ.

Đây cũng là khởi đầu quan trọng thúc đẩy giao lưu kinh tế, văn hóa, xã hội giữa các tỉnh Tây nguyên và TP.HCM với các tỉnh Bắc Trung bộ; rút ngắn thời gian đi quãng đường gần 1.000 km nối từ Nghệ An đến Buôn Ma Thuột xuống còn 1 giờ 20 phút bay thay vì phải bay vòng qua Hà Nội hoặc TP.HCM mới đến được Tây Nguyên như trước đây.

Đại diện hãng hàng không Air Mekong cho biết, đây là điểm đến thứ 9 của hãng và đường bay Vinh-Buôn Ma Thuột-TP.HCM sẽ áp dụng chung tiêu chuẩn dịch vụ deluxe và phổ thông, khách được phục vụ suất ăn trên mọi chuyến bay.

Kể từ ngày 1.10, hàng tuần sẽ có 3 chuyến bay (các ngày thứ 3, 5, 7) nối từ Nghệ An với khu vực Tây Nguyên và TP.HCM với giờ bay xuất phát từ sân bay Vinh lúc 12 giờ trưa và từ sân bay Buôn Ma Thuột lúc 10 giờ 15 phút.

Cũng trong phiên họp sáng nay, BTV Tỉnh ủy đã nghe và cho ý kiến về qui hoạch sân bay, nhà ga. Dự cuộc họp có đồng chí Phạm Qúy Tiêu - Thứ trưởng Bộ Giao thông Vận tải, đại diện lãnh đạo Cục Hàng không Việt Nam và một số ban, ngành liên quan.

Thực hiện ý kiến chỉ đạo của Bộ Giao thông Vận tải, đến thời điểm hiện nay, Tổng công ty Cảng hàng không Miền Bắc - chủ đầu tư dự án đã hoàn thành việc lựa chọn phương án kiến trúc công trình, đồng thời báo cáo Cục hàng không Việt Nam và Bộ Giao thông - Vận tải để điều chỉnh một số nội dung về qui hoạch nhà ga hành khách Cảng hàng không Vinh. Theo điều chỉnh, nhà ga sẽ có khả năng phục vụ 1000 hành khách/giờ cao điểm (tương đương với 2,5 triệu lượt khách/năm) với tổng diện tích xây dựng khoảng 20.000m2, tổng mức đầu tư dự kiến khoảng 700 tỷ đồng.

Tại cuộc họp, các thành viên BTV Tỉnh ủy đã tham gia đóng góp ý kiến, lựa chọn các phương án kiến trúc và nội dung điều chỉnh qui hoạch đặc biệt là khu hàng không dân dụng, sân đỗ ô tô và sân đỗ máy bay… nhằm đáp ứng lưu lượng khách qua cảng ngày càng tăng và đáp ứng đầy đủ khả năng khai thác với tần suất lớn, mở ra nhiều cơ hội cả về thị trường nội địa và quốc tế, góp phần phát triển KT- XH tỉnh Nghệ An.

Kết luận tại buổi làm việc, đồng chí Bí thư Tỉnh ủy đề nghị chủ đầu tư xem xét công suất thiết kế 2,5 triệu lượt khách/năm liệu có tương xứng với quy mô và tốc độ phát triển KTXH của tỉnh hiện nay để có sự điều chỉnh cho phù hợp. Trong qui mô hoạt động, cần tính đến các điều kiện phục vụ cho các chuyến bay quốc tế khi có yêu cầu. Về phương án kiến trúc, đồng chí Bí thư Tỉnh ủy nhấn mạnh dù lựa chọn phương án nào cũng phải đảm bảo nhà ga là điểm nhấn kiến trúc của thành phố Vinh và tỉnh Nghệ An và đảm bảo các yếu tố bền, chắc, đẹp, kinh tế, thuận lợi, hiệu quả trong vận hành."
