NYC's having its 382nd B-day this year!!! 18 more years and NYC will have its 400th B-day!!! Can't wait!!! I bet it's going to be huge.
ChuckScraperMiami#1 June 17th, 2006, 11:12 PM Manhattan Boy, I believe you are talking months, lol. Unless the date that New York City Manhattan Island was bought at $ 25.00 almost 383 years ago, then I know what you are talking about.
United States is turning 230 Years old on July 4th, and that's only in 17 more days
ManhattanBoy June 18th, 2006, 12:02 AM NYC was founded in 1624. It's the oldest big city in the country. If you don't believe me, look it up on google.com.

ManhattanBoy June 18th, 2006, 01:18 AM Nice elementary school website.
But I found this website that says 1624. I'll paste the list here:
Oldest Cities in the United States
St. Augustine, Florida, and Santa Fe, New Mexico
Ten Oldest U.S. Cities
1) St. Augustine, Florida, 1565
2) Santa Fe, New Mexico, 1609
3) Hampton, Virginia, 1610
4) Newport News, Virginia, 1611/21
5) Albany, New York, 1614/24
6) New York, New York, 1624
7) Quincy, Massachusetts, 1625

Next to Chicago? You're way off there. Boston is 6 years younger than NYC so they're close. Philly was founded in 1682, so that's a bit younger but not much. And Chicago was founded in the 1830's. That's a lot younger.

spellbound July 30th, 2006, 11:38 AM Well, let's NOT forget Philly!
This born and raised son of Miami LOVES it here but that does NOT mean that Miami will ever take second-place in my heart. I adore my hometown.
Philadelphia is great but I can ASSURE you that I will be sitting in a cold, smoky bar every Sunday afternoon this Fall rooting on the Dolphins.
Happy Birthday, Miami. I love you.
Bobdreamz July 30th, 2006, 01:06 PM Happy 110th Birthday my beloved city!
