It's also dangerous for their skin and makes it fast ageing (not mentioning the risk of skin cancer). Still it's a little strange to me seeing "dark" guys sunbathing like they wanted be really black.
Here in Poland many ppl want to get some tan just as proof of spending their holiday in some exotic country, but the effect is not permanent of course and totally disappears in a month or two (still looking like a Mediterranean is seen as being hot hot hot, even though the risk posed to their health is high; but most Poles are really white, so maybe my concerns are exaggerated a bit).
