View Full Version : Louisville: Seminary Woods (construction photos)
eweezerinc June 6th, 2006, 08:57 AM Sorry about the quality. Took them with my cell after a voice lesson.
I'll be able to update every week or two because I take vocal lessons at the Jewish temple across the street. ;)
Hopefully next time I'll remeber my camera...

scraperboy June 6th, 2006, 09:47 AM For those wondering, this is located near the Louisville suburb of Northfield near the intersection of US 42 and I-264. I believe it will be 14 floors. Next door is an existing 10 story midrise and there is a small 4 floor office park across the street, but there are not a whole lot of midrises in this area.
Ian604 June 6th, 2006, 07:59 PM Thanks scraperboy i was about to ask exactly what you answered... if that made any sense
eweezerinc June 15th, 2006, 05:55 AM Here is a rendering, and a link to the site.

eweezerinc July 11th, 2006, 12:58 AM Sorry, forgot the camera again, so I used my cell phone. I did however remember to turn the resolution up so the blurriness is less than those first pictures that are so aweful. ;)

Ian604 September 5th, 2006, 12:03 AM nice photos weezer. Any chance this part of town could see more developments like these midrises? Is there more developable land in the area?
cwilson758 September 5th, 2006, 12:16 AM hasn't this thing been U/C for a long time...? If this is the one I think it is anyway...what was the delay?
eweezerinc September 5th, 2006, 12:30 AM Actually, I know of a few other midrises on Brownsborro that are getting ready to be constructed, but I don't know exactly where on Brownsborro. I do however think that this tower is going to fill quickly and there may be a few more in the area to follow due to its success. Its a great area, has open available land, and people are really taking to the highrise lifestyle.
I also must mention that very near by is The Midlands, which is still drudging through its planning stages. Its will be a large project on old farm land that combines condos, appartments, offices and retail into a dense new urbanism community. If you've seen Norton Commons, it will be similar to that, except about 1/4 the size, and much denser.

I think it started around January I think, and for a long time the crane was just sitting there. I'm not sure what the delay was, but it seems like its still making slow progress. Its only at about 6 floors. From june 26 to september 3, it only added 2 complete floors. >.<
Ian604 September 5th, 2006, 12:52 AM I really like the plan for The Midlands.
eweezerinc December 28th, 2006, 11:35 PM So my vocal lessons were moved to 6:30 on Sundays, and its been too dark for any updates, but I finally got a 12:30 makeup and had some extra time.
Things are moving along, bit it still has not topped out.

eweezerinc May 31st, 2007, 07:55 AM The main tower is almost finished, but there is a second low-rise building that they will begin soon. Here are my latest photos:

Did you not see the rendering at all?
To comment in general, I wholly support the location. Seeing that the entire area is undergoing a transformation into a more dense collection of structures, which is supported by the major riverfront developments and what is along the major arteries, let's hope Louisville has many more years of rapid growth!
