I'll post some of the projects on there tomorrow, but I want to review the Miami threads to see what's going on. Brickell Citicentre is a good candidate, as are the museums and Port of Miami Tunnel. Those Brazilians are beating everyone to the punch though, with their entire cities and multiple port projects.

Don't forget the Genting project even though it has been scaled back. It is still going to be pretty big. Some people will not click on links posted by people they don't know because of the potential virus threat, so wherever you can, copy the pictures from the links directly into your posts so that people see them immediately without clicking on any links. I think the more we can keep Miami in the spotlight in a positive way, the better it is for continued develoment.

I got the impression they made Epic taller because they had foregone their interest in building Epic 2 because of the market collapse. Epic was originally supposed to be only 500 feet tall, but it is almost as tall as Icon Brickell, and I can't find the height listed anywhere.

Cushman & Wakefield of Florida, acting as exclusive agent on behalf of Canpartners Realty Holding Company IV Miami River LLC, an entity related to Canyon Capital Realty Advisors LLC, announces the sale of 1.23 acres on the Miami riverfront.
The parcels represent a prime, mixed-use/multifamily, high-rise development opportunity along the Miami River and located just west of Interstate 95, between the Flagler Street and SW 1st Street bridges on the western section of Downtown Miami in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Multifamily marketing and brokerage specialists Rosendo Caveiro and Brad Capas, senior directors with Cushman & Wakefield’s Florida Multifamily Advisory Group, represented the seller in the transaction.
A development entity led by Melo Contractors Corporation acquired the parcels for $4,500,000 which equates to $84 per square foot or $3,659,000 per acre. Under the Miami 21 zoning designation of T-6 (Urban Core Zone), the site has a Floor Lot Ratio (FLR) of 548,859 square feet and can accommodate 184 residential units.
“This is one of the most exciting multifamily development opportunities in the Miami CBD, especially since it will be developed along the Miami River,” said Caveiro. “With more than 300 linear feet of frontage along the riverfront and excellent exposure above the Interstate 95 ramp, the new development will have 360 degrees of unobstructed views. The views from a high-rise building will be off the charts.”
The site is within walking distance to major employment centers, such as Miami-Dade County’s Government Center, Main Public Library and Metrorail Station, the City of Miami’s Police Department, and a host of other city, county and Federal government offices. Major banks, law firms and private businesses are also within close proximity.
Melo Contractors Corporation has been a very successful developer of luxury rentals and condominiums. Their projects have been built in or within very close proximity to the Miami CBD, therefore, Caveiro anticipates that Melo will develop a project consistent with the high quality and modern design of their past successes.
“Melo builds top-tier rental and condo high-rises that match the site’s prestigious Miami CBD address and high profile location,” said Capas. “We are confident that their Miami River project will prove to be a very successful and visible community.”

I don't think its far, its more that the walk seems very unpleasant. Walking 5 blocks with many other pedestrians while you pass multiple retail shops is a lot different than walking 5 blocks with only a couple people is sight, under the freeway.

For example my friends and I frequently spend time at Kork at Flagler and Miami ave. This would be an easy 10 min walk from this site. However I wouldn't be comfortable having my lady walk this route at night by herself. East of Miami ave, sure, but west, not yet.

But I'm excited about the possibility of this project acting as the catalyst to change that. Maybe once/if this gets built, a couple more lots nearby will get developed and start to make a real change. There is a lot of potential, it's just a long way out. But I guess this could be a start.

The jackass cannibal guy really killed the walk to the north in the CBD. She gets freaked out whenever we walk under a bridge and there is a wardrobe laying on the ground. She concludes that there must be a hungry naked guy near by.

When I first joined the forum there was a guy who was doing that--repeatedly--with some photo threads that were already insanely long. It was driving people nuts even if just a harmless miscue.

Last year pictures. My brothers bought a 2 Bed-2Bath 1.144sq ft unit in Icon Brickell at $360K. They bought a good deal, i think its the cheapest 2 Bed/2 Bath in the towers that have been sold. They also bought another unit at 500 Brickell. Both are renting themselves.

Gabriel, as far as I know, I'm the only member of the Miami forum who actually works in the medical field, and if I had have a stethoscope, looking it up on the computer is how I would go about it. I don't work in a doctor's office where they actually use them.

I'm pretty sure I've seen stethoscopes sold in Walgreens. Failing that, the University of Miami or FIU bookstores might carry them, too.
