Rate the Architecture of the Cebu Normal University in Cebu, Philippines
- Built by the Americans in 1914 as the Cebu Normal School, it became a headquarters of the Japanese Imperial Army's Secret Police known as the Kempeitai during World War II.
- Several of the school's quarters (in the original building which is now an administration building of the university) became prison cells. The plaza in front of the original structure was also dubbed as a killing field for the prisoners of war (POWs). Several of them were tortured and eventually decapitated. The original building also has a basement where the prisoners of war were detained and tortured.
- Design of the structure is a combination of Filipino and Neo-Classical features.
To the left is the original colonnaded structure which was built during the American period. The building in the foreground is a new structure and houses the university library and convention center.
