why are some of the buildings grey ghosts?
Fern~Fern* June 22nd, 2006, 08:42 PM Wow, project 6 & 7 are dramatically going to change the skyline in Long Beach. It's going to give Glendale and Burbank a run for their money....

Isn't becuase they are the buildings now being developed, and need to stick out from the other ones. Project 6 and 7 are the best thing to come to LBC, I heard in SSP about a sales center maybe or has been opended up for these tow boys.

Duppernyc June 25th, 2006, 07:51 PM does anyone know if the edgewater on ocean project is going to begin any time soon?
solongfullerton June 25th, 2006, 08:06 PM ^^^ last time i went by there, the property had been fenced off and signs were placed on the fence showing a rendering of the completed building. that was a couple of weeks though, so as for building im not quite sure.
klamedia June 25th, 2006, 08:22 PM Was just in the LBC a couple of days ago around the 5th st station and was very impressed with the downtown. Very pedestrian. Lots and lots of people walking around. Andit seemed as if it spilled out onto Pine and all of that further to the south. Their were even a lot of taxis! The LBC seems to be going in the right direction. Even more important, it seemed to be a mix of different economic groups as well. I went to the Wal Mart and it was very very very packed for a Thursday evening. All of the parking structures were set far away from the entrance of the store giving alot of room for sidewalks and landscapes. In fact, I would have totally missed the parking structures had I not looked, sort of like Santa Monica. It seems like the city planners really are encouraging a vibrant pedestrian atmosphere, and it's working. Now why can't these other places get their shit together?
O
On another note, I know that I'm late, but I just had a chance to get down to the 3rd street Promenade finally. Very impressed with the City Of Santa Monica. Once again, encouraging alot of pedestrian activity(not fake urban like The Grove)with very nice bus stops I must say around the promenade. Lots of people taking transit as well.
FROM LOS ANGELES June 25th, 2006, 10:41 PM Going back to the Broadway and Maine project, actualy web site. I hope all of checked out the fly through -it's a most see-.
SkyHigh529 June 25th, 2006, 11:16 PM Well its nice to see all that is planned for my new home town. You can even see my apartment complex in that rendering, accross the street from #18. For the locals, I live in the "Sizzler" building.
bobyahead June 26th, 2006, 08:55 AM oh yea! i love long beach! its in the middle of everything, the most diverse city in the world.
