View Full Version : Isn't _____ the best city around!!!
edsg25 June 30th, 2006, 08:20 AM Isn't ____ the best city around!!! Doesn't it kick ass over every other US city? Every global city? If cities could be ranked, wouldn't ____ come in #1 in every category. Why would anyone want to visit any other city but ____, let alone live there? Aren't all other cities in the shaddow of ____, _____ being the most influencial city in America by any measure. Why do the moderators allow people who don't live in ______ to post here. These people are too stupid to post. Or to live. Isn't _____ the ultimate city, the city to end all cities?!?!?!
Please fill in the blanks with the city of your choice. And then, afterwards....
keep it to yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talbot June 30th, 2006, 08:31 AM Ahh man I was going to fill in the blanks with Tupelo, MS!
NaptownBoy June 30th, 2006, 10:17 PM Edsg, you are quite subtle. Chicago could fill those blanks easily.
Jayayess1190 June 30th, 2006, 11:42 PM Philadelphia :cucumber:  :okay: :gunz: :D
NaptownBoy June 30th, 2006, 11:44 PM JJJJJJJBOB's gonna have an orgasm when he sees this thread
ROCguy June 30th, 2006, 11:52 PM I'm trying desperately to get that image out of my head right now.... thanks a lot! (is JBOB even old enough to have orgasms, he seems pre-puberty aged)
jmancuso July 1st, 2006, 12:24 AM this thread could be troublesome.
FROM LOS ANGELES July 1st, 2006, 12:36 AM That's NY no doubt. But we all know what city cough LA cough in next. I guess this thread is gonna be troublesome.
LA1 July 1st, 2006, 01:15 AM I'm trying desperately to get that image out of my head right now.... thanks a lot! (is JBOB even old enough to have orgasms, he seems pre-puberty aged)
Actually, in one of his very odd title threads, he said he was like 40. It was called "city talk for people over 30" or some wierd shit.
When I picture that guy, I see a old, angry, extremely uneducated homeless man who gets internet access through the local library. If you read his posts, its as if he has never left Philly-AC-NYC area at all. He says he has been to SF, LA, Chicago and Miami, but he said alot of crap that were lies.
I busted him a few times on his fake Chicago experiences. He also drives a Ferrari and lives in a $600,000 row house and plans to buy a unit in the Philly Trump Tower. It just never ended with that nut.
SDfan July 1st, 2006, 06:23 AM Good luck getting anyone to agree on this. But I don't think this was supposed to be a serious thread...
Sean in New Orleans July 1st, 2006, 06:42 AM You could fill in that blank with "New Orleans," or "every other city in America"..the rest are all alike and then you taste a little lifestyle, attitude, and flavor of New Orleans. Arrogant? No. The truth? Yes...it's really that simple and anyone who has been here would agree with this comment.
Trae July 1st, 2006, 06:57 AM ^^That could be said with a lot of cities. New Orleans is not really special in that regard.

There is only one New Orleans...the rest of America, outside of NYC and Chicago, look like Metairie, LA...a suburb of New Orleans. And that's the truth. I'm not particularly bragging either...I love many cities in America..including Houston. But, there are few unique cities in this country. No way around it..if you are in Houston, you could swear you are in LA, Denver, Atlanta, Kansas City, Columbus, etc...depending on where you are standing. If you are standing in New Orleans, there is no doubt about where you are standing.
UrbanSophist July 1st, 2006, 07:39 AM Guys.... I think you misunderstand the intent of the original poster...
That being said...
CHICAGO!! :booze:

CHICAGO!! :booze:
I believe the intent of the original poster (who would be..ME) was that those of you who have been rabidly placing your city on a pedestel and then sticking it in our faces should....
first, fill in the blanks (of the totally over-the-top, ego-preeening description of your city) with the name of your incomparable metropolis
and then afterwards, mercifully...
not inflict your partisanship on the rest of us
*******
What else could I have meant when my last line on the original post was an emphatic:
keep it to yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bonjourtoledo July 1st, 2006, 01:33 PM Based on the pattern of all the threads and posts with hyping, boosting, and giving their endless love--I anticipate people filling in the blank with the following cities: Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Charlotte, Raleigh, Buffalo, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Louisville, Kansas City, and St. Louis. With so much photos and information I don't even need to visit these cities because I feel I have been there just by sitting at the computer.
NYC, LA and Chicago is in their own class which we all know it's considered one of the world-class cities.

i guess what i neglected to say was to "fill in the name of your city
in private.
And toledo, as much as I love my Windy City, there are far more world-class cities than ours, NY, and LA.

Nope. I think you are still wrong. Every city in America looks different. If you are standing in New Orleans, you would think you are standing in Savannah, or Key West. I'm telling you, New Orleans really is not unique in that regard. Every American city does NOT look like Metairie, LA either.
Sean, if you want to continue, I suggest we PM each other. To not take away from the thread topic.
