They really need to plant more trees, that grow tall, and blanket the skyline with greenery as much as possible. The sight of poorley constructed red-brick rooftops is so unsightly.

+1, that shows how poor management & supervision our Develepment authorities have! anyone can construct extra stories/floors anytime without any approval from the authorities and hence resulting in such a mess that we have now in the cite :cry:

i think ur right because if u take pic from the front angle it looks short and fat :) but if u take from the back there it looks slim and nearly 106 meter .:lol:

Nopes cladding is not complete yet, the 7 storey parking plaza is yet to be cladded. completion date is mid September i guess!

^^ actually it won't be a parking lot as a whole !only 5 floors will be used for car parking!

The government should really remove those stray electricity wires and maybe improve the landscaping on that road..

Well I said earlier also, it certainly does not look like a 106 m building to me too whenever i see these pics, but when i pass by the building and see it in real, then i always have to change my mind, it definitely is above 100m , and is visible from very far away at ferozpur road, if you are coming from Ichra side and going towards STP, then you will get its first glimpse near qadafi stadium signal, and STP is approximately 4 Km's in distance from that point, same is the case if you are coming from other side of STP! for the same reason I asked an official through email & he confirmed the height!

Yes the parking plaza is also complete!

Its just my ordinary mobile camera 2 MP Nokia E51, but the camera i used for LRR pics was Sony Cybershot

This was the vertical portion of the building where the crane/lift was installed during construction. And since that lift is removed from the site, this vertical portion from base to top was left uncladded which is now almost complete too!

brother but drain will have to be covered in any case as there would be quite expensive machineries installed i guess...the drain ejaculates harmful fumes, they will get destroyed in a couple of years...we have to install our splits A/c gas every season....same case is with fridges....and other electronics equipments...
they should think over it :)

No, interiors are not yet done!

As far as i remember it took them more than 4 years to complete 17 story building. very slow progress no wonder why a lot of investors leave the country.

This could have been shifted to a new (better and larger) place a year ago, but some asshole middle men (Aartis) are not letting that happen and this was a horrible protest at main Ferozpur road!

Things are moving as planned as they are cleaning up some neighborhood encroachments behind sabzi mandi and LTP also as I saw couple of weeks ago with heavy machinery. I drove by and saw no one protesting there but the word aartis has some bearings too.....not the most educated crowd. Good to see things moving in the right direction.

Good thing that happened, after that day , they just shutdown the old Flea market and the new one is working fully now. Previously complain was that some of Shareef people moved but customers didn't as some left behind here ... but since they took matter in their hands, everybody is out and business is as usual .. lol

Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said the Software Technology Park, constructed on the Ferozepur Road, will soon be made functional.

“All facilities relating to information technology will become available to computer companies in the park and Lahore will emerge as the new “Bangalore” in the world with regard to software development,” he said, while presiding over a meeting of Punjab Information Technology Board on Tuesday.

Special Secretary Finance Imdad Ullah, Secretary Planning & Development, Chairman PITB Dr. Javed Ghani and Member PITB Ibrahim Qureshi were also present in the meeting. Matters regarding development of information technology were discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that development work of software Technology Park had been completed and electricity and gas would soon be provided. Khosa directed Chairman PITB that park should be made functional as soon as possible.

Its a good start however it would have been better if Shahbaz Sharif govt. comes up with a solid plan for our technology industry. May be plan couple more IT parks in Lahore or other cities and name one project on her name than existing ones.

Nothing wrong with* what's happening ... the rates are quite normal according to the building standard but no company is going in as all are trying to cut back on costs.

I'm in all favor of moving the whole Punjab Secretariat out of Lahore somewhere and combine all departments of Govt into one huge block of building with a corporate type operation where CEO can look down the gases and see all his workers sitting. If we are moving in this direction slowly , it's good.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that suitable site had been selected on Lahore Ring Road to set up the most modern Information Technology University of Pakistan.

The university, he said, was being established with the collaboration of Turkey’s Middle East Technical University. The first campus of this university will be set up in Arfa Software Technology Park for the facilitation of students. Thy university would set new educational standards in Pakistan with regard to providing education of international level in computer and other science subjects, he hoped.

The chief minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the website of a computer company CAR4U regarding traffic management.

The Punjab Information Technology Board chairman Dr. Umar Saif and a large number of girl and boy students were also present.

The chief minister said that Punjab government was setting up Daanish Technical University for providing international standard computer education to Pakistani youth. The Punjab cabinet had already given approval in principle to the establishment of the university while the formal approval would be sought in the next cabinet meeting, he added. Lauding the website designed by Sakib Berjess Tahir for providing guidance in traffic management, the CM said that Pakistani youth was talented and would put the country on the road to progress and prosperity by ridding it of problems. He directed Sakib Berjess Tahir to plan such safety projects in consultation with education, transport and other concerned departments which would help educate the people regarding safe driving and saving the human lives in accidents on the roads.

Sakib Berjess Tahir, while speaking on the occasion, said that lives and properties were lost in accidents every year in Pakistan which could be avoided by adopting safety measures. He said that information had been provided in the website prepared by CAR4U Company regarding averting traffic accidents, getting driving license, road safety and other matters.

Meanwhile, different Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the Punjab government and the world renowned IT companies for enhancing mutual cooperation in information technology sector.

A function in this regard was held at Arfa Software Technology Park which was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the Planning & Development chairman, the provincial secretaries, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) chairman, representatives of IT companies and computer experts. Under the MoUs, American company, Microsoft, will train students in internet-based self-employment methods, Cisco will set up Cisco Network Academy while through Hawaway Company, besides infrastructure development of information and communication technology, various training facilities will also be provided in the province.

Well actually the front of this building is facing the most prime location of the city, i-e Model town, ferozpur road and Gulberg, but the locality at back side of the building is not a very good one! its like some kachi abaadis.
