View Full Version : Re-routing of Spring Street Busses: Mixed Responses

So apparently the city re-routed some bus routes from Spring Street to Main and other streets. On the one hand this means reduced noise for nearby loft residents, and more parking on the street, on the other hand some businesses that moved in as part of the Los Angeles re-development movement are saying that they relied on those bus riders to provide business and may go flat. Also bus riders now must wait for busses on Main Street, considerably more dangerous at the moment than Spring. Is this a good move? Thoughts? Should the city promote cars/parking (which may attract more loft residents) or busses/transit (which keep the area economically viable at the moment)?

For Tracie May, 36, who lives at City Lofts, on Spring near 6th Street, moving the loud and obnoxious buses off her side of Spring Street was "the greatest thing that ever happened on the planet."

Bitch move to Rosemead! I hate and loath these kind of people.

So let me straight if they remove the reverse bus lane, Spring St will become a two way street. Or it will continue as a one way with added parking  on both sides on the St. Hmmmmmm, Either way is all good!!!!!

It will stay as a one way street, with the reversible lane turned into a parking lane. I don't see what the problem is, I was just on Spring St. and it look plenty busy to me.

I live on 5th and Broadway. Im facing Broadway. The bus noise has increased since the change. I dont mind the extra bus noise since Im never there but I wish they would fix a pothole that makes the bus s sound like shotguns when they pass over the pothole. Definately noise has increased.
