Mr. Detroit April 26th, 2003, 01:28 AM In my opinion, this is a pretty damn good skyline! Didn't expect this from Little Rock. For it's size, it gets a 9.5/10 from me.
SteelCity32 April 26th, 2003, 06:59 AM Nice skyline for a small city...9/10
Hacksaw April 26th, 2003, 03:15 PM Wow! Never expected this! ummm, 9/10 because it has such a small population.
Wu-Gambino April 26th, 2003, 10:11 PM 8/10
X-seed 4000 April 27th, 2003, 01:29 AM Only 183 thousand? 9.5/10
Gluehuffer136 April 27th, 2003, 08:40 AM Thats probably the population for just the city limits man! Very decieving! US Census showed 590,024 residents in the Little Rock Metro area in July 2001... a more sensible number, but still a very solid skyline for that population... I give it an 8!
The tallest building is the TCBY center correct?
Hacksaw April 27th, 2003, 08:46 AM Yep, the TCBY tower is the tallest at 166m.
renell April 27th, 2003, 11:29 AM it's a boxy skyline, but it's quite good considering it's population
Lmichigan April 27th, 2003, 09:05 PM I have relatives that a visit every year. Very nice city. It's very green, hilly, and historic and pretty vibrant. I give it's skyline a 7.5. Pretty good for a state that few people would believe would have a skyline like this.

jtown, man April 28th, 2003, 12:38 AM "Thats probably the population for just the city limits man! Very decieving! US Census showed 590,024 residents in the Little Rock Metro area in July 2001... a more sensible number, but still a very solid skyline for that population... I give it an 8!"
yea i must agree with you on this one, but those figures are wrong, the metro is at the most ( and this is stretching it) 420,000. I live in Jonesboro , about an hour and a half north east of there, and i must say that the little Rock skyline is more impressive ( atleast in person) than the close by city of memphis. even tho memphis has a far greater population..........9.5:moods:
Mr. Detroit May 1st, 2003, 12:32 AM Sorry guys :(
BGT May 1st, 2003, 01:46 AM 8/10
BG918 May 8th, 2003, 08:38 PM Very nice skyline for its size. The Little Rock metro is actually near 600,000 now. jtown, man I don't know where you're getting 420,000, it's much bigger than that. That being said, there are some good looking buildings and nice density, with a great setting next to the Arkansas River. It's cool what Little Rock has done with the Arkansas in turning it into a focal point for recreation and development. My city Tulsa is looking to do the same with our portion of the Arkansas, eventually. Nice place 8.5/10.

Deventer Up June 16th, 2003, 12:47 PM It's nice but nothing more than that. 6/10
The Messiah June 21st, 2003, 01:08 AM I like the skyline and for it's population i like it even better.
8.0/10
AndrewC June 24th, 2003, 01:15 AM Lacking in density and a bit boxy, but i love the positioning. The wire frame of a perfect cluster IMO.
Good

I like the skyline
GSCullum June 30th, 2003, 10:01 PM I give it an 8, pictures just don't do it justice.
As far as the population being only 420K, that sounds about right for the "metro" as we say, which is everthing from Cabot in the northeast to Benton in the southwest, but there are other suburbs of the city, like Conway, with large populations as well that are not part of the large urban area of the city, and this is what makes the population higher.
fox1 July 1st, 2003, 07:24 AM interesting work. 7
james2390 July 28th, 2003, 05:13 AM very nice, 9

jtown, man December 20th, 2003, 05:55 PM man, There has been nothing but good comments..thanks yall. Little rock really is a awesome city. Its one of those places that if you want to have a big city feel, you can. But then agian, if you the good ole' country feel, your 10 mins away from it. on a side note, North little rock, it alot more impressive than i thought, down i think....broadway, there is alot of density! NICE SUPRISE!
Cardpooch December 22nd, 2003, 02:30 AM Nothing wrong with this skyline but people need to stop giving it an 8 (or higher) just because it is good "for its size". It is ridiculous to say it has a better skyline than Indianapolis, Denver, Detroit or a whole list of cities that it currently outpaces in the realtime chart.
6/10
huaiwei December 23rd, 2003, 10:44 PM 5/10. It barely made it for having a "skyline."
jtown, man December 27th, 2003, 01:53 AM IMO, population has ALOT to do with a skyline. I mean, say little rock had a skyline like new yorks...id score it a 100/10, while the new york skyline in new york i give it a 50/100;) . Vice versa, if little rock had a population of 8 million and had the skyline it has now...then i wood score it around 1/10. Its all relavent. Although i do see some peoples veiws on population vs. skyline.
jtown, man December 27th, 2003, 07:44 AM __i wanted to make a "jonesboro arkansas" tread here. I saw where it wasnt listed in the cities i could use...so i guess i cant make it here? Should i just make one on the "skyscraper and cityscapes page"?

Blahb January 8th, 2005, 04:06 AM 8.5. +Cool points for being in a mainly rural state and +More cool points for good looking towers.
SkyHigh529 March 21st, 2005, 07:54 AM Nothing wrong with this skyline but people need to stop giving it an 8 (or higher) just because it is good "for its size". 6/10
Actually, that is how I rate cities is by judging them based on their size. To me it is too hard to rate everything according to 10 = New York/Hong Kong and 1 = El Paso, Tx (just an example). There are too many great cities that deserve to be in the 7-10 range based on their size.
For this reason I give Little Rock a 10 for its category. The Little Rock skyline simply Rocks! Little Rock the city is also a great place to live. The new Riverfront area is absolutely amazing, with plenty of great shops, eateries, and a wonderful park along the river. Also the TCBY building really looks like something you would find in a much larger city and is simply GREAT! Little Rock deserves the accolades it is getting. Go Little Rock!
By the way, I actually prefer Little Rocks skyline to Denvers, though it is smaller.
SoboleuS March 21st, 2005, 11:32 AM Good looking buildings and nice cluster. Skyline is very big for a city of this size :okay: 7,5/10

Excellent skyline for less than 200K. Good variety, too. I can only imagine what the skyline would be like if the size of the city doubled.
Duckwings_16 September 5th, 2010, 12:36 AM allow me to update on this city of mine :) ..
Little Rock, in my opinion, deserves much more credit than is gets...it has really turned the corner in the past few years and they have done a great job at revitalizing Downtown. Little Rock used to look run down, and "trashy" looking, but with all the new additions to the River Market Disctrict, the new parks, greenery, old buildings being restored, and not to mention the crime has dropped drastically, Little Rock is on its way to being a city that you should definitely concider visiting..
The tallest building (referred to earlier as TCBY) is now known as the Metropolitan National Bank Tower...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/Duckwings/LR.jpg
Here is a picture that i made, illustrating all the new additions to the River Market district in the past 5 years..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/Duckwings/skyscrapercity-1.jpg
the Axciom Tower is a 12 story office tower, River Market Tower a 20 story condo tower, 300 3rd Tower is a 18 story Condo Tower, and First Security Tower is a 15 story Hotel/Condo tower...
Little Rock recently revamped an old Railroad bridge into a Pedestrian bridge connecting Downtown Little Rock to Downtown North Little Rock..
