How can they still be working on it? Does anyone know when it will be finished? What was their plan to begin with? I stood on the corner of Santa Monica and Overland this morning in awe of the mess that was before me. Nothing made sense there, and I had to go to the other side of the street and back around to catch a bus on Westwood.

^^ Who knows I thought there was some kind of Light Rail to be built in the medium. I guess not, we just have to wait and see how many more months it takes to finish, what ever it is that's been constructed.

Sorry but that area is a perpetual traffic pit. Whatever it is it will be backed up in 6 months.

I have no idea what they're doing there, besides creating a huge clusterfu.., but it was a real missed opportunity not putting in some type of rail through that area linking the Metro at Wilshire/Western (or Vermont/SMB) to downtown Santa Monica.

I was watching LA City View a couple of weeks ago when they had a story on the reconstruction of Santa Monica Blvd. Supposedly, it should be completed by summer 2007.
Really does suck that a light rail train wasn't put in. The project was only meant to beautify the street.

and combine little santa monica and the main one and yes, it was definitly a wasted opportunity for rail. i bet if this project was commissioned this year, rail would DEFINITLY be included, but what can we do.
