View Full Version : PERTH: The Peninsula at Burswood (Part 1)
chrisaus April 26th, 2003, 09:30 AM today went to the mirvac fini building, it was closed, but through the window i could see what looked like a model of the burswood Lakes project, must get back on a weekday and get some pics, for anyone who wants to see it here is the address
Mirvac Fini Office Building, Hay Street Westend crn Market Street, near QV1 - open monday-friday
PinkFloyd April 30th, 2003, 12:07 PM Went and checked it out today. Its a pretty kickass model. It really shows how some of the apartment towers will tower over Burswood resort.
chrisaus April 30th, 2003, 12:38 PM I was there to today to :D
its only made of wood but it still gives a good indication of its impact. just behind the model theres are some nice books & pamphlets with pics of current, past & proposed projects all over australia
chrisaus May 1st, 2003, 07:20 PM not long till the construction starts on the lakes, parks, piazzas and the first townhouses and apartment tower is launched !!!

chrisaus May 30th, 2003, 10:00 AM I got a postcard from mirvacfini today, its says constructon has commenced
NZer May 30th, 2003, 12:36 PM Is there a picture on the postcard?
:)
CULWULLA May 30th, 2003, 12:48 PM chris, have you got stats on this project? i want to put on ss.com. how many towers are there? how many floors have they all got? what are they called? address's
finn May 30th, 2003, 01:16 PM Here's a picture of the whole scheme which is called "Burswood Lakes":
http://www.arch.usyd.edu.au/~afindlay/burswoodlakes.gif
So, there are seven tower in total and I counted the number of storeys off the picture. They are, from left to right on the picture above:
Tower 1 = 13 storeys
Tower 2 = 15 storeys
Tower 3 = 17 storeys
Tower 4 = 19 storeys
Tower 5 = 20 storeys
Tower 6 = 22 storeys
Tower 7 = 12 storeys
chrisaus May 30th, 2003, 02:49 PM thanks for the pic, what an amazing project, biggest of its kind ever in WA, the towers are going to have a massive impact on the area to. there is also another 10 or so lowrise buildings then hundreds of townhouses plus some shops, cafes & amenities. will look awsome from east perth and graham farmer freeway, can't wait till the towers start rising & hopefully there is strong public support for the project aswell as demand for CBD apartments. The piazza and park were going to start first so they are probably UC now. first tower should be realesed soon and the second hotel at burswood is supposed to start construction in july!! when you think about perth's nimby's it hard to believe its going to happen!! hope the project saves perth from sprawling that extra 1km. the pic finn posted was on the postcar, to become a VIP just registure your interest and you get all the details on their latest project and priority for purchasing apartments, just don't say your poor and 18:D
NZer May 30th, 2003, 02:58 PM I wonder if this is only one stage of a project which will eventually occupy more of the peninsula, notice how the main road leading through the development in the pic kinda just ends at some grass.

That is where the multi-use tennis and basketball stadium will be. And Chris is there any suggestions as to which tower will be built first.
chrisaus May 30th, 2003, 05:28 PM im not sure, prob one near the piazza ?
burswood plan to redevelop the foreshore area with broadwalks cafes, apartments, retail etc... in the future, burswood will be awsome give it 10-20years a real vibrant 24hour community!
PinkFloyd May 31st, 2003, 06:30 AM Great close up pic!!!
This is my guess on how the project will be staged (trying to think like a property developer). I would say all the roads will be put in, parks, lakes etc, but the first stage of the development will be the small tower to the left (closest to burswood), and move left to right from there on.

chrisaus June 14th, 2003, 07:02 AM the first tower to be released is 17 levels, it will start marketing early 2004, meanwhile construction will begin on the site over the next few month, for the parks, water features & roads etc...
chrisaus July 4th, 2003, 07:05 AM they will be building a $1m display/marketing centre soon for the project
Homeroids July 4th, 2003, 11:12 AM Driving along the Polly Farmer FWY today, I notice a small mobile crane erecting quite a few poles in that area. Maybe this has something to do with the display.

might be something to do with the construction of the park or water feature or something. I love the entry to burswood off the farmer freeway with the illuminated palm trees and the illuminated facade of the hotel that changes colour [they are the same company who has done the concert hall lighting]

chrisaus July 14th, 2003, 05:31 AM marketing for the first tower gets underway later this year. the $1m display centre will be open soon [can't wait]
registure your interest in the project

Doug July 14th, 2003, 05:48 AM Well i live pretty close to the burswood developement. Infact the view i have also includes the burswood area. So i will be able to see the high rise from my balcony going up. They have now put up some coloured wooden poles for some reason. All looks good!
PinkFloyd July 14th, 2003, 06:05 AM I'm with you Chris, I can't wait till the display center opens. I went to the YE display center last year and that was great. Models of each stage and pics all over the ways. I can only hope the Burswood lakes dc is as good.

i would say thats the marketing centre, i saw the Q1 marketing centre go up and it sounds similar.
to get any good construction shots were going to need a chopper!
NZer July 14th, 2003, 01:48 PM I wonder how many people will actually use that big round park in the middle

Welcome Doug - yeah I noticed those poles recently as well. Be interesting to see what comes of them.

hopefully the project won't become a 'dead zone' like other mirvac fini projcets such as panorama. I think they are getting better with development such as south cove that has some retail/commercial/cafe spaces
Homeroids July 15th, 2003, 01:28 AM Maybe a fountain with patterned watered effects? :)
PinkFloyd July 15th, 2003, 01:56 AM Remember that Panorama was a Fini project and not a Mirvac project(and a bit of a dud project if I do say so myself. who puts a swimming pool on the roof when you can sell a couple of million dollar plus apartments)!
Mirvac spend huge amounts to get a project right and I don't think they'll let this one become a "Dead-zone"

we will have to keep an eye on YE. currently that place look very dead though the retail stores are yet to open. I read theres plans for minor retail such as a convenience stores etc... for burswood lakes.
Homeroids July 31st, 2003, 11:22 AM Those polls we mentioned - they are coloured and have a big mirvac banner on them.
chrisaus July 31st, 2003, 12:21 PM hows the display centre going? I could see stuff going up from east perth! this project is going to have a massive impact, wonder if perth can sustain emu brewery, icon, gateway, village northbridge, burswood lakes etc.. because that a bloody heap of supply!
maybe ill just have to head over to have a look and oh maybe have a gamble while im there:D
finn July 31st, 2003, 01:50 PM We learnt in one of my classes at uni the other day that Perth City Council is actually the fastest growing local government area in Australia (in % terms), and that is certainly reflected by all this unit development! Something like 11.4% growth in one year!
Albeit, this high % growth would be because of a low starting base, but nevertheless it is a sure sign that CBD living is rapidly increasing in popularity in Perth.
PinkFloyd August 1st, 2003, 02:22 AM I remember reading that finn. It just goes to show that people in WA are taking to the inner city life. What are you doing at uni.

Bachelor of Property Economics
PinkFloyd August 1st, 2003, 10:53 AM Cool, I was doing a double major last year in Accounting and Finance, but it wasn't for me (I originally wanted to do Property and Manangement at Curtin, but didn't get the marks).
I have just completed a certificate 4 in property at tafe and I might have a job as a junior commercial property manager at Colliers International (I did work experience there for a week for tafe).
Anyways that my life story.
chrisaus August 1st, 2003, 12:57 PM cool I wana do something to do with high-density accomodation, probably urban planning for the city of perth!
Dilaz89 August 2nd, 2003, 05:50 AM you could be the next planning minister chris!

didn't get on the chopper today hmmm can't decide if i should go drinking in northbridge next saturday night or go on the chopper, such a hard choice!
NZer August 4th, 2003, 07:40 AM Why not just drink on the chopper?
Tommo August 4th, 2003, 08:08 AM So is this the start of construction or just site clearing cause if it is under construction it might be a good idea to start an official Burswood Lakes thread.
chrisaus August 4th, 2003, 08:10 AM they are current doing site works, constructing the display centre, starting construction on the parks, roads, piazza & water feature and are designing the first tower, the first tower will go on sale later this year. we can just turn this into an official thread when the first tower is realesed, im a VIP so I will get all the detail a soon as they are available for public realease

Dilaz89 August 8th, 2003, 10:25 AM isnt that what the pcec is ment to do, replace both the dome and the entertainment centre????
chrisaus August 8th, 2003, 11:07 AM the PCEC will take over the domes rome as exhabition hall though the PCEC will be much bigger and purpose built so expect the car show etc... to be at the PCEC though no there will be no huge live performance area that will be able to put on the events the scale of the entertainment centre and burswood dome, perth will prob start to loose out on big events due to lack of venues, there's always claremont show grounds and belvour etc... though they have noise curfews....

chrisaus August 25th, 2003, 04:38 PM Burswood set for its new era
PREDATORS will be free to make a play for Perth casino and resort operator Burswood International from next week, after State Parliament passed long-awaited changes to the Act governing the casino.
Heading the list of changes is an easing of the 10 per cent cap on individual shareholdings from September. The change, announced almost a year ago, means investors will need only approval from the Gaming Commission of WA to move beyond 10 per cent.
Now, any such move requires the express permission of the State Racing and Gaming Minister.
Though analysts do not expect any predator to make a play in the near term, several companies have been named as prospective bidders over the longer term, most notably Kerry Packer's Publishing and Broadcasting, owner of Melbourne's Crown Casino.
New Zealand's Sky City Entertainment Group has also been tipped as a potential bidder, along with Burswood's Australian gambling rivals Jupiters, TAB and Tabcorp.
Analysts believe any move is unlikely until Burswood shows clear signs of improving its financial performance after two years of disastrous results.
Since the collapse of Ansett in 2001, Burswood's profitability has been falling steadily on the back of continuing international uncertainty, smoking bans, building work and lucky overseas gamblers.
Hence Burswood's warning this month that full year profits for 2002-03, due on Thursday, would be 50 per cent lower than the previous $20.6 million.
Importantly, other changes approved by State Parliament should help boost Burswood's future performance.
Taxes on international gambling will be reduced in stages by almost a third to 15 per cent, bringing Burswood into line with its interstate rivals, offset by an increase in taxes on gaming machines from 15 to 20 per cent over the next two years, and to 18 per cent on gaming table revenue by 2006.
At the same time, Burswood will be free to install another 200 video gaming machines, significantly boosting total gaming turnover

chrisaus October 12th, 2003, 06:20 AM according the the property liftout in todays sunday times tower one will be called 'Allegro' and will go on sale in november with construction to start within the next few months
Dilaz89 October 12th, 2003, 12:39 PM i cant wait for this one! will it be taller than burswood casino?
i wish mirvac fini bought the emu brewery site!
chrisaus October 12th, 2003, 01:20 PM yes quite significantly taller.
chrisaus October 17th, 2003, 10:31 AM got an invitation today from mirvac fini to the 'vision forum' in the presidential suite at hotel interncontinental burswood. they are accepting paid registrations of interest to what will secure opportunity to purchase apartments.

Pas October 18th, 2003, 04:31 AM chrisaus, do you how much do these apartments at Burswood Lakes costs? more expensive than east perth?
PinkFloyd October 18th, 2003, 04:54 AM Got my invite in the mail too. Wouldn't mind going down, say I represent my dad in Melbourne or something.
chrisaus October 28th, 2003, 02:28 PM did any one see the inner city apartments story on 10 news tonight? it had great renders and animation of the burswood lakes project and swan panorama!
23knots October 28th, 2003, 03:54 PM No, but I was working "late" (for Perth - 8pm!) tonight and walked to the car park next to the entertainment centre. I was having a laugh at how empty the CBD was at such an early hour when I walked past a large new store on Hay St between Kings and Milligan Streets. It was an oasis of liveliness. There was also a busy Japanese restaurant in the walkway between Hay and Murray Streets (and another bar there which I was surprised was open). So I think Perth has got a bit livelier since I left 1 year ago.
There is hope. If Icon and Swan Panorama go ahead this will be it for Perth CBD. Oh and Statton will have a big impact on a crap area. Will go and visit the Icon display suite this week to find out what's going on.
Dilaz89 October 28th, 2003, 04:13 PM + all of the small inner city small projects will contribute alot to the livelyhood of the city at night and even in the day!
last year 10000 people were living in perth i recon by 2005 there will be nearly 50000 people living there!
chrisaus October 29th, 2003, 04:58 AM also the bar @ QV1 is opening in the next few week called 'bar one' fronting milligan street oposite woodside
23knots October 29th, 2003, 04:57 PM Well can we make sure we use these places? Since we all believe in CBD development, we should. Can I suggest a Christmas meet for forumers at the QV1 bar.
I'll send out a "notice" nearer the time. If no-one else comes, I'll be there - that's a promise.
PinkFloyd October 30th, 2003, 01:53 AM I'll come along, but what off the underagers?
chrisaus October 30th, 2003, 02:53 AM they can go to mcdonalds and timezone or if westside is to cool for that he can go hang in the train station:D

mayby we can meet in the cbd one day!
23knots October 30th, 2003, 11:31 AM That was funny though....you should be allowed in the QV1 bar so long as you don't bring your sk8board in.
NZer October 30th, 2003, 01:01 PM I'll bet their dress code doesn't say shit about skateboards..

chrisaus November 8th, 2003, 10:41 AM in the west mirvac-fini have been searching employees for the project
chrisaus November 11th, 2003, 03:43 PM went and had a look today. a new carpark has opened at the casino whats much needed [as well as a 500 bay mulitlevel one UC at the new holiday inn]
also the marketing centre looks almost finished, its 2 levels ontop of a sandhill and you can see it have 'lookouts' so the launch of tower 1 should happen soon!
chrisaus November 28th, 2003, 08:06 AM looks like the launch is very close, the main road leading into the development now has mirvac fini banners with 'the peninsular'. that must be the new name of the development. also the display centre looks complete and the access road to the display centre is almost done. I will expect it to be selling to the public by the end of this year

3,000 residents.
The views are spectacular from The Peninsula.
You can choose to enjoy the wide green fairways,

ALLEGRO APARTMENTS @ THE PENINSULA
http://www.mirvac.com.au/content/homes_apartments/perth/the_peninsula/images/popup_allegro.jpg
We're proud to present the first apartment
building of The Peninsula.
Allegro, like all Mirvac Fini creations, has been
designed from the inside out. We began by
designing the most liveable and welcoming
interiors, and then allowed that function to
inspire the exterior form.
Rising 17 storeys, Allegro will be breathtaking.
Unlike anything else available, it will be the first
sculptural piece of a whole new Perth skyline.
HPA have considered every floorplan with
entertaining in mind. The open spaces of each
apartment flow seamlessly from the interior
to the spacious balcony, maximising fresh air
and providing an abundance of natural light.
Many innovative design features have been
incorporated _ such as the sliding louvres
that control the western sun.
The building comprises 80 residential apartments
and five home-offices. There is a choice of two,
three or four bedroom apartments, and three
three or four bedroom apartments, and three
contemporary interior colour schemes. Allegro
will feature stainless steel European appliances
quality surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms,
and superb imported tiling.
In addition to its world-class design and interior
fit-out, the building will have its own swimming
pool and gymnasium.

During the official launch of Allegro, we'll be
introducing the vision of The Peninsula via our
million-dollar Information & Display Centre.
This state-of-the-art facility will act as the sales
centre for The Peninsula. It will include two
comprehensive models of the development,
a coffee deck, imagery and a four-storey
viewing tower that allows visitors to sample
the stunning views of the Swan River,
Burswood Park Golf Course, East Perth
and the Perth city skyline.
Most impressively, the Information & Display Centre
will include a complete replica of a standard Mirvac
Fini two-bedroom apartment. In one of the most
innovative approaches to off-the-plan sales ever
seen in Western Australia, this replica apartment
will showcase the fixtures and fittings of
Allegro, as well as one of the three available
interior colour schemes.
Homeroids December 5th, 2003, 02:02 AM Wow this stuff is impressive. I like the idea of the Allegro. Even the display centre sound impressive. I think if I had the mula I'd be looking at an apartment but anyway.

chrisaus December 9th, 2003, 04:20 PM Mirvac Successfully Launches "The Peninsula" in Perth
The Mirvac Group has reported strong sales from its VIP launch of “The Peninsula” in Perth, a joint venture with Burswood Limited.
Mirvac Fini pre-sold 58 apartments valued at more than $40 million in the first release of 75 apartments. The apartments ranged from two, three and four bedrooms and were priced from just under $400,000 up to $950,000.
Once completed, The Peninsula will comprise approximately 1200 dwellings and be home to about 3,000 residents. The project boasts views of the Swan River, Perth CBD, Darling Ranges and Burswood Park Golf Course.
Mirvac Fini CEO Mr Adrian Fini said the successful launch reflected the location and the quality of Mirvac’s master-planned development.
“The result demonstrates the strength of demand for quality living close to the city, as well as the confidence that exists in Mirvac Fini to deliver a first class product to the Western Australian marketplace,” Mr Fini said.
Burswood Limited Managing Director, Mr John Schaap, said: “The strong result is a testament to the future success of the project and demonstrates the many benefits of this unique location.”

perthwa September 8th, 2004, 12:41 PM Christopher Hiller is planning to open a new store at Mirvac Fini’s The Peninsula project, adjacent to the Burswood Casino. While it’s not due to open until 2006 the new store will be a cafe and gourmet convenience store.
The store be double the size of his food outlet and cafe in Subi, Food by Christopher Hiller, and will be housed in the first of seven towers Mirvac Fini is developing at the site.
“I’ve been negotiating it for about 12 months so we can get it right before it’s built,” Mr Hiller says.
“It’ll be about 150 square metres and will have a cafe with provisions to seat around 70 people, so it’s more than twice the size of my existing store.
“There will be a licensed cafe and a convenience store.
“It won’t be a gourmet store, and it’ll be smaller scale to Herdsman Fresh or Boatshed.
“It’ll sell milk, eggs and fresh produce.
“It’s designed for residents of The Peninsula to shop and we’ve got the cafe that will do breakfast and lunch and maybe dinner over time.
“I’ve always wanted to do our second store. This one [in Subiaco] is five years old now and I’m in a position where I can do another.”
Mr Hiller has also refreshed his Rokeby Road store.
“I’ve given it a fresh lick of paint and put up some new mirrors.”

perthwa September 14th, 2004, 03:41 PM Its A Special Events Station, the peninsula is between Burswood & Belmont stations so Burswood would probably be the primary station for the development, It would be nice if they could have a new station for the development, but people with that much money seem to be to kool for skool, ie people who are rich are to kool for public transit....pricks....
Dilaz89 September 14th, 2004, 03:56 PM if there was some decent retail there and mayby when the holiday inn opens the station might get a revamp
perthwa September 15th, 2004, 11:12 AM the next station on Victoria Park is getting re-built in a new location so Burswood might be some time of, maybe the public transport authority, burswood and mirvac fini should all put in for an upgrade, It would be good for the station to be closer to the casino complex to, because the station already is very well used with burswood patrons
Dilaz89 September 15th, 2004, 02:21 PM yeah burswood patrons could hope on the train to the city for the day then go back at night. would be a good idea!

The Peninsula, Mirvac Fini's leading-edge community,
will set a new benchmark for residential projects
in Western Australia.
Encompassing a diverse mix of contemporary
residences and luxurious apartment buildings,
The Peninsula will be a world-class community,
right on the doorstep of the best Perth has to offer.
Mirvac Fini will be designing and constructing
every component of this masterplanned community,
ensuring architectural diversity and ultimately
providing a safe and vibrant home to around
3,000 residents.
The views are spectacular from The Peninsula.
You can choose to enjoy the wide green fairways,
the stunning vista of the Swan River, the Perth city
skyline, or the magnificent views of the eastern hills
and upper reaches of the Swan. Alternatively, look
out over a spectacular array of landscaped parks,
gardens and lakes.
http://www.mirvac.com.au/burswood/images/vis_image.jpg
Situated just four kilometres from the Perth CBD,
The Peninsula is one of Perth's last remaining
large-scale residential sites close to the city. Bounded
by the Burswood Park Golf Course, the Burswood
Resort and the stunning Swan River, The Peninsula
truly offers something for everyone.
Its unique location provides residents with many
additional facilities. The State Tennis Centre is next
door, and all the dining, shopping and entertainment
of the city is 5 minutes away. The East Perth and
South Perth river foreshores are also nearby.
Transport access, especially to the CBD, is
exceptional. The Graham Farmer Freeway is close
by, and a train station is a 5-minute walk away.
Travellers will love the fact that both the International
and Domestic airports are an easy 15-minute drive.
http://www.mirvac.com.au/burswood/images/popup_location_new.jpg
Once completed, The Peninsula will be the largest
masterplanned community in Western Australia.
Integrated communities like this are increasingly
popular for a number of reasons:
Views and view corridors down roads
and pathways can be maintained.
The architectural character of the
neighbourhood can be preserved,
ensuring houses are not identical,
or too drastically different!
Homes are oriented to maximise
access to sunlight.
Private outdoor space is planned
and maximised.
Public open space, including parks,
gardens and 'village squares', can
be planned to benefit all residents.
Neighbour 'overlooking' issues can
be minimised.
Vehicle access, parking and pedestrian
access can be managed efficiently.
http://www.mirvac.com.au/burswood/images/mp_image_new.jpg
Like every Mirvac Fini residence, The Peninsula is designed by HPA, our multi-award-winning team of architects, interior designers and planners. They are responsible for some of Australia's most highly praised and awarded work.
HPA's management of the lengthy development and design process enhances the benefits of a masterplanned community. They take care of all environmental and lifestyle considerations in their planning to ensure each home fits together with its neighbour.
HPA's commitment to design quality delivers a level of excellence that has become synonymous with Mirvac Fini.
The Peninsula will feature a fresh mix of contemporary residences and luxurious apartment buildings – all carefully positioned around an array of attractive parks, gardens and lakes.
Residents and visitors will be greeted by views of the city as they drive up the main entry road. Of course, residents will be able to linger much longer on the spectacular city, river, hills or golf course vistas. Thoughtful building orientation and window placement, combined with adjustable louvres, will ensure views are maximised whilst maintaining year round comfort.
http://www.mirvac.com.au/burswood/images/des_image_001.jpg
Meticulous planning by leading landscape architects and urban designers will ensure the style and ambience of The Peninsula lives up to its unique
location. Extensive public open space will blend with the attractive surrounds of the golf course and river.
More than 2.5 hectares (6 acres) of the new neighbourhood will feature parks, gardens and community recreational areas. Public access routes
such as walkways and cycleways have also been incorporated into the design, enabling easy access to the Swan River foreshore.
Surrounded by sport and leisure facilities, as well as the recreational opportunities of the river, residents can enjoy a real resort lifestyle.
On site, The Peninsula will feature its own gourmet café, convenience store and Recreation Deck. The Deck will be accessible to all residents, and will feature a 25-metre swimming pool, a comprehensive gymnasium and a luxurious health spa.
Next door, at the Burswood Resort, there's everything from restaurants to theatre, as well as the picturesque golf course. The State Tennis Centre is also nearby and Perth CBD is just minutes away.

http://www.mirvac.com.au/burswood/images/axis_balcony.gif
After months of public interest and excitement, we are pleased to announce that Allegro has sold out. Over the three-day launch a staggering 70% of the apartments sold, with the remaining released apartments selling quickly thereafter. The result sets a new benchmark in off-the-plan sales in Western Australia.
The second apartment building, AXIS, is soon to be released at The Peninsula, and like Allegro, it will put the city’s world-class dining, shopping and entertainment at your feet. The delights of the Swan River, Burswood Park Golf Course and the numerous amenities of The Peninsula will also be yours for the taking.

We are proud to present the vision of The Peninsula
at our million-dollar Information & Display Centre.
This state-of-the-art facility acts as the sales centre
for The Peninsula. It includes two comprehensive
models of the development, a coffee deck, imagery
and a four-storey viewing tower that allows visitors
to sample the stunning views of the Swan River,

perthwa September 16th, 2004, 07:58 AM Mirvac Fini Reports Strong Stage 2 Sales at The Peninsula
Mirvac Fini today announced it had sold 48 apartments valued at approximately $34 million during the first three days of the VIP sales launch of the second apartment building at ‘The Peninsula’ – a joint venture development in Perth between Mirvac Fini (WA) Pty Ltd and Burswood Limited.
The release comprised 78 of the 102 apartments in the AXIS tower, and follows the equally successful launch of the first apartment building, Allegro, in December last year.
Once completed, The Peninsula will be home to nearly 3000 residents and comprise approximately 1000 homes including two to four bedroom houses, apartments and courtyard townhouses, all carefully integrated around more than 2ha of parklands and public open space. The Peninsula boasts views of the Swan River, Perth CBD, Darling Ranges and Burswood Park Golf Course.
Adrian Fini, CEO of Mirvac Fini, believes that The Peninsula’s superior location and the success of the first launch was a major influencing factor for many owner occupiers who purchased in the second release.
“Mirvac’s proven track record for creating masterplanned communities and our recent work on site has really fuelled excitement for the project,” Mr Fini said.
Robert Hamilton, Mirvac Managing Director, stated: “This result once again confirms that quality property in superior locations will continue to sell to owner occupiers looking for the ideal lifestyle choice.”
The apartments released ranged from two, three or four bedroom and were priced from $495,000 up to $1,030,000.
Mirvac Fini anticipates the first housing product at The Peninsula will be introduced to the marketplace upon completion in the first half of 2005.

perthwa September 21st, 2004, 11:24 AM Mirvacs Yarra's Edge Development - An Indication Of What Burswood Will Look Like?
http://img57.exs.cx/img57/1466/P9202063.jpg
Dilaz89 September 21st, 2004, 11:29 AM is there a better render of allegro around?
perthguy78 September 21st, 2004, 11:45 AM i think burswood will be MUCH shorter... damn
mikeyraw September 21st, 2004, 12:29 PM Yeah, More dense less height.
Dilaz89 September 21st, 2004, 02:17 PM the tallest tower in burswood should be about 75m, which will be perths tallest suburban tower!
mikeyraw September 21st, 2004, 03:26 PM Hardly surburban. Its the new south perth hopefully. How high is 75? Is that the sheraton?
perthwa September 21st, 2004, 03:27 PM burswood will be more of a 'urban village' vibe because its very master planed plus the ground floor delis, cafes restaurants and retail should help, there was nothing at the base of yarra's edge
Dilaz89 September 21st, 2004, 03:35 PM sheraton is 75 above adelaide tce but 90 from tce rd.
perthwa September 21st, 2004, 03:40 PM I hope the development is intergrated in well with burswood casion, the future foreshore development, train station and future dome site development, for a vibrant precint
Dilaz89 September 21st, 2004, 03:45 PM id say it would be. its not like a resident of the peninsualr isnt ever going to goto burswood.
perthwa September 21st, 2004, 03:47 PM btw. there is reports that packer is going to speand $100million on the gaming floor alone at burswood to start the investment program
perthwa September 21st, 2004, 03:48 PM btw. imo burswood is the best casino in australia mainly because it doesen't have pokies, plus its the best dressed casino, ie dress standards, though they have sliped abit
Dilaz89 September 21st, 2004, 03:52 PM are pokies illegal is wa?
mikeyraw September 21st, 2004, 03:54 PM Yeah. I hope packer does something with the dome. Ie knock it down.
Dilaz89 September 21st, 2004, 03:58 PM yah its should anyway. its loosing alot of money.
perthwa September 21st, 2004, 04:04 PM now that pcec is open the dome is dead, and yes pokies = no no in WA, fucken brilliant, when ever im down about perth that is one thing that will always make be a proud western australian, say no to pokies!
Homeroids September 22nd, 2004, 12:10 PM pcec open?
Homeroids September 22nd, 2004, 12:12 PM don't mind me; I thought you may had been referring to the Entertainment Centre. Doh.

Dilaz89 October 4th, 2004, 12:17 PM have fun??
perthwa October 4th, 2004, 12:19 PM sure did!
perthwa October 5th, 2004, 03:04 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/perthwaus/c76b2f28.jpg
RocStar October 7th, 2004, 05:09 AM Man Burswood is going to be just spectator, even more so now that Packer owns the Casino and such. It could turn out to be our very own South Bank. As said, he has already announced spending $100 million on the gambling floor alone just for starters! $100 million is a hell of a lot just for the gambling floor. I wonder what he has installed.
I think better access from the CBD would top things off. A fancy walkway over the Swan from the new Gateway project will be just freaking fantastic eh? Burswood in a way would become part of the CBD. I mean its death defying trying to walk over the mayhem causeway let along driving across it. It’s not really a short or pleasant stroll is it?
BTW I spoke to my bro inlaw last nite and he told me he laid 3 townhouse slabs there yesterday, so that’s taking off too.
Dilaz89 October 7th, 2004, 05:14 AM its good to see miurvac fini working with another co to make it the best it can possibly be!
perthwa October 7th, 2004, 05:18 AM yeah the townhouses are coming up, i ride over the causeway and along the burswood foreshore its fine except if there is a fat whobbler then its a squeeze lol, plans to turn the area into 'burswood city' will be a great gateway into the CBD from the airports, lets hope land like hamburger hill etc.. get upgraded, and lets hope alot of parking is taken out and opened up to the people, because the casino complex is so isolated right now and its just surrounded by masses and masses of carparks, it will be good if they go underground, and the train station use is increased, because we dont' want it to be carpark city
and its great to see they have already started planting trees so they mature before the towers, and it looks great when finished
RocStar October 7th, 2004, 06:03 AM A nice walk way bridge between Burswood and Gateway would be nice :)
perthwa October 9th, 2004, 10:02 AM PBL set to cash in on advertising boom
Kerry Packer's Publishing & Broadcasting Ltd said its leading media businesses were poised to continue making the most of the strong advertising cycle.
PBL benefitted in 2003/04 from a stong upswing in the advertising cycle which began in April 2003, chairman James Packer and chief executive John Alexander said in the company's annual report.
"The robust business economy contributed to a strong advertising revenue enviroment," Mr Packer and Mr Alexander said.
"Each of the PBL media businesses is a leader in its respective segment, and remains well positioned to maximise the cycle."
PBL, which recently took over the operator of Perth's Burswood casino, said it believed it could improve the performance of Burswood International Resort Casino.
"PBL believes it can improve the performance of the asset and will develop Burswood into a first class entertainment venue which benefits the people of Perth, and also generates significant international and interstate tourism revenue."
The media and gaming group was also upbeat about the outlook for the Sydney SuperDome having bought the leasehold and management rights until 2031.
"PBL believes that the SuperDome has significant potential, as evidenced by it securing or staging major events like Disney on Ice."
The annual report showed that neither James Packer nor his father Kerry, who is executive deputy chairman of the company, drew a fee for their roles during the year.

AXIS, the second apartment building at The Peninsula has just been released off-the-plan and after a highly successful weekend, you now have the opportunity to secure your piece of the ultimate in luxury city living. As its name suggests, AXIS will enjoy a pivotal location, with its 112 apartments boasting sweeping views to the city, river, hills or parkland.

There will be six distinct 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartment floor plans to choose from, with a choice of three contemporary interior colour schemes: mocha, latte and cappuccino. Dilaz89 October 31st, 2004, 11:20 AM where ru gonna get the $$$ from???
perthwa November 20th, 2004, 12:00 PM >>>now its being said there is going to be around $30million a year for several years speant on upgrading the burswood gaming floor to equal about a $100million investment, only a year after the $120million+ upgrade to the facility and when you add the new holiday inn, this peninsula development, future foreshore and burswood dome developments plus a heap of other major developments in the area such as eastern gateway, power station, belmont etc... burswood city is going to be that one big city with several billion dollars worth of projects happening over the next decade, this will be one dense area and a new capital city gateway from the airport into the CBD
perthwa November 23rd, 2004, 03:16 PM another look at mirvacs yarra edge development taller version of the peninsula, something like what we can expect
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~anfield/city6.jpg
mikeyraw November 23rd, 2004, 04:18 PM Nice, but I think what we are getting is nowhere near as nice as that. Very white/basic/perth.
Dilaz89 November 23rd, 2004, 04:22 PM mirvac fini designs are always nice so have high expectations!
perthwa November 23rd, 2004, 04:23 PM the park is going to be lined with jacorandas will look spectatular, for town houses are udnercontrction, will be a great showcase project what will hopefully lead to alot more high scale projects, and i commend the city of victoria park for approving this project, a great moment for perth! lets hope they have good access with the burswood train station
Scraperfan November 23rd, 2004, 04:54 PM they should have been taller, 30 to 35 floors.

perthwa December 30th, 2004, 12:28 PM as mr dilazaro was saying axis is now under contruction, you cant really see it, but the guy @ the marketing centre told us piling is underway and is close to completion and should start rising early next year, so we will have two project undercontruction. its making quite an impace from the train around vicpark-burswood stations
Dilaz89 January 29th, 2005, 04:41 AM omg the corebox in pas's pic he posted in skyshow thread! -

Perth4life3 January 29th, 2005, 05:08 AM lol i cant see the corebox! just a crane.
Dilaz89 January 29th, 2005, 06:54 AM wtf do u think that white thing is then?
Perth4life3 January 29th, 2005, 07:00 AM oh, lol haha ima dumbass.
chrisaus February 10th, 2005, 09:58 AM the corebox is now sitting around 5 levels the second corebox from axis should become visable soon, meanwhile dozens of townhouses are almost structuraly coplete with some of the smaller courtyard apartment buldings also underway, the site is a hive of activity, for the best view go up the viewing tower @ the marketing centre or view from the train between claisebrook and burswood train stations on the armadale line for elevated views, however its starting to make an impact from areas like east perth and east victoria park
chrisaus February 13th, 2005, 12:37 PM http://img216.exs.cx/img216/3582/1666695img9ec.jpg
Auxodium February 13th, 2005, 02:39 PM well at Belmont Park when i have been working there i think i can JUST see the tower over the emankment of the Victoria Park Road flyover of the freeway. :)
BrizzyChris February 13th, 2005, 05:08 PM I know you Perth guys would think this high-rise development is great, but from looking at the model and renderings, I think a totally low/mid-rise (max 8 stories) development would look a lot better. I just think several towers spaced out looks really crappy...like Docklands.
RocStar February 14th, 2005, 05:49 PM Nar, should look good. It’s in the right location, just out of the city over the water. If the towers were shorter it wouldn’t have much impact visually from the city or the main roads. At least this way with its sufficient height, it will give us a new cluster of buildings out side the CBD. Also because it’s right next door to the Burswood Casino Resort complex, it should be a very appealing vibrant precinct to be in. Not too sure what the Docklands look like thou?

Homeroids February 17th, 2005, 12:28 PM I think there might have been a core rise today on the current project. Saw the raising crane in place on the way to work this morning.
