Gloucester are finally going to demolish the main stand at Kingsholm, it will be replaced by a temporary structure for the upcoming season. (Presumably something like the buildbase stand at the Kingsholm road end.)
The plan is to start construction of a new main stand next closed season, ready for the 2007/2008 season. Apparently a revised version of the one proposed a couple of seasons ago.
However time will tell if they actually go ahead with the new stand, or continue with the temporary one whilst they evaluate a possible move to the railway triangle.

It's a bit of a risk to demolish without planning permission for a new stand?

I believe planning permission exists on the design from two years ago, but they have now put in for some ammendments.

Actually, they're now not going to demolish the main stand before the new season, following concerns raised by season ticket holders:

Instead, they're going to let them sit in their usual seats for most of the season, then knock it down in March, just as the season's getting close to its climax.
I always thought Glawster fans were a bit odd :)

Yup, what a farce.
Announce you are going to start demolition immediately, then change your mind three or four days later.

Yes, well what do you expect from a club whose fans go to games with a pig under one arm? :)
