1. Size of the new building

DiGi HQ site will reside on a land area of 6.5 acres, with the actual built-up area of 330,000 sq ft. It will be the new office to approximately more than 1000 DiGizens.

2. Themes for every floor

There will be 2 main themes (Nature & Zen Minimalist) in all offices. Whilst in the call centre, 5 interesting concepts have been created with lots of relaxation space .

3. Rest and Relax

A great feature in the new office would be the courtyard garden where all DiGizens can unwind and relax when the going gets tough. We also have a jogging track on the hill behind the office building with some exercise apparatus for those who want to stay healthy!

4. Ample Meeting Rooms

In the new HQ, we will have 52 discussion rooms (that can fit 4 people) and 29 meeting rooms (that can fit approx 14 people)

5. Food, glorious food

The cafeteria we are building is located in the hill linked to the 3rd floor of the HQ. With the beautiful landscape and avant-garde interior, we are sure that DiGizens will enjoy their food at work.

6. Open concept

The seating will be based on an open-office concept - with free seating for all, helping with teamwork, reducing hierarchy and most importantly improving communication - ultimately creating a leading, innovative workplace

waa..so nice. Subang hi-tech is somewhere near Glenmarie??
can people come and 'lepak' at Digi's cafeteria??

szehoong
July 6th, 2006, 09:48 AM
Subang Hi-Tech is kinda next to Glenmarie......in fact to access to it, one need to exit Federal Highway at the Batu Tiga interchange and turn left (Klang bound). ;)

That place is nothing but factories so I dun think it would be a cool place to hang out hehehe :D

Nice setting. I also love the office chairs! This would rival the scary(horror wise) but peaceful location of Technology park at Bukit Jalil.

DiGi investing RM85m in office upgrades

DiGi.Com Bhd has spent RM80 million to build a "revolutionary" building in Shah Alam as part of an RM85 million investment to upgrade its offices nationwide within the next six months.

DiGi chief executive officer Morten Lundal said the investments on its offices were part of its planned RM700 million capital expenditure this year.

He said DiGi had already upgraded its Penang office and would upgrade all its existing branch offices in Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Melaka and Ipoh.

“With the exception of the newly built Shah Alam office, other branches’ upgrade will only include the interior, equipment and refurbishment,” Lundal said in Shah Alam on Aug 30 at a media tour of its new building called D'House.

He said DiGi was also planning to open more offices in the country.

Lundal said its new building in Shah Alam, with a built-up area of 325,000 square feet, revolutionise the “open office” concept, where top management and workers shared the same facilities and where the bureaucracy of hierarchy was eliminated.

DiGi's operations in Shah Alam were previously housed in six locations.

“Everyone here is treated the same, from the janitor to the CEO. We do not have titles on our business cards or identification tags, only the departments we belong to,” Lundal said.

He said the working area was one of an “open concept” where all DiGi workers, including its management, had only a locker to keep their belongings.

Lundal said these clusters of work areas were developed to promote the sharing of knowledge, encourage creativity and innovation. He added that all its offices would follow the same concept.

Another zlgdesign!!!
http://zlgdesign.wordpress.com/2007/01/08/digi-telecoms/

Some 24 different breakout areas have been designated for this vast office interior for Digi Telecommunications Headquarters Offices located in Shah Alam. More than 1 200 office workers enjoy informal areas that were designed and conceptualised around zen and forest/nature themes. Ceilings ‘longkangs’ [malay for channels] are kept as dark recesses in our signature RAL 7038 grey, remaining clean throughout the entire project, with bell lights mounted within this zone over general circulation active zones. The original inspiration for this office building and internal space, with informality as a concept would be the Telenor Centre in Oslo. We went to see this amazing facility, which took the office typology and turned it on its head, and then made it to be the new living room for workers, with art thrown around just about every corner, the site is fantastic [used to be the old airport strip], and the food and catering is beyond hotel standard. You can see Douglas Gordon’s work there amongst many generative artist.

We are extremely grateful and happy to have the cooperation of the Client under the direction of Ms Khor Choo Lin.

Project completed in early 2006.

hello,

Enquiries:

I am an final year architecture student from local University, USM ( University Science of Malaysia). I am doing a research study on office buildings in Malaysia. And I came across D’house as my favourite office design with its own open office planning layout and it own building technology and good environment in order to increase the staff productivity. So, I would like to study D’house as my case study building for my final year design thesis.

Thus, may I know who is in charge in approving the entry permission to D’house? And who shall I write in? for your information, I wish to visit the D’house coming Tuesday/wednesday 12/10/2010-13/10/2010.

szehoong, are you still working in D"house? i wish you can bring me around the building for a visit.

Your help is kindly appreciated and looking forward for your reply very soon.

Thank you so much,szehoong.

Hi Chan,

As mentioned in earlier postings, I am not working at D'House. Only my friend is working there and I was brought around D'House when it first opened.

I personally do not think Nazrey could help you either as he is just quoting and posting articles from various sources.

The best bet that you could have any help is to personally write in to DiGi to request permission to researched on D'House as it is DiGi's HQ. I am sure they have a communications officer or something.

Personally going there is recommended but do not guarantee admission. With tight security and all that, I would think that you would not be granted permission to enter. If you are uninvited and not granted permission to enter, your visit would be futile.

Thanks and good luck in your thesis! :)
