Wow it's getting heated in here and to think it started with a discussion on it being too cold during the WC! :runaway:

Mo...

^^

:ohno:

1. For the record, I never introduced the term and pled for "national enthusiasm", YOU did in your post of 9.03pm last night.
2. I *rarely* visit the other city-related threads so am baffled about how I allegedly "bash down most things non-durban, again this doesnt apply to cape town alone". I would love to be cited examples. Go ahead and search. You'll be wasting your time. To my recollection, the only non-Durban things that I have commented on in the past year are:

1. Gautrain - In the past I've stated that I support the concept but wish it wasn't so expensive as it will be funded by taxpayers from throughout SA and will service only a small % of the total population, let alone only a small % of the population in Gauteng. How is this "bashing"?
2. CT stadium costs. In my view R7 b for *one* city for a stadium and related infratructure is too much. I would say the same if the figure were for Durbs or JHB, and have said so in the past. How is this "bashing"?
3. CT weather in winter - objectively verified to be cold, wet, and windy almost half the month in both June and July. I would express concern if the WC were to be held in Durbs in summer (wet conditions). How is this "bashing"?

"grow up? u shud try it some time"

1. I try to avoid getting involved in flame wars and have rarely engaged in negative banter with *anyone*. In fact, you're the only one who has managed to press all the wrong buttons with me.

2. I am not the one with the reputation for childishly rubbing people up the wrong way; YOU are. How many times have you done this already? It's a regular occurence. You should really introspect about how and why you do this with such regularity. Sigh. :ohno:

"anyway enough of this, the forums are unpleasant as things stand already."

Agreed.

Peace.

wooooah guys!!! calm down! I think everyone needs to grow up a bit! Both Durban and Cape Town are great cities and I cannot understanmd this Durban V. CPT warfare. I think you guys are being a bit harsh on Mo as all he did was take the piss out of the rest of the countrys somewhat flawed idea of what our weather is like in cape town. I know it would be better to have had the WC in November but that is NOT going to happen becasue the club season is happening then. We knew the time of year it would be when we bid for it and FIFA knew what it was going to be when the gave it to us. So instead of moaning about it lets just focus on holding the best WC ever! Look English summers are often colder and wetter than cape town winters and certainly often colder than the rest of the country's winter so if the UK can hold a world cup/european championship (ie:1966/1996) im sure we can without people freezing to death!

I agree that everyone needs to calm down. But, Mike, Mo's behaviour really was uncalled for. He snidely and sarcastically mocked Dysan, who had said nothing bad about CPT's weather. Unless there was a private exchange between the two, Dysan was mocked for no reason. And if there had been a private exchange, Mo should not have taken that exchange public. Either way, his actions seem tactless.

WOAH! Guys...

Okay, let's try to get this thread back to where it was. It would take forever to clear out all the argumentative posts in this thread, so the thread is now ruined.

I do not privately send negative messages to mo "harrassing him" or bringing down "everything outside of Durban".

I personally dont care if some people out there dislike me cos my intention in life is never to please or appease everyone, you just cant so it is futile trying.

I never attack people on here, and i never drop to the levels of mo. If there are people out there so juvenile to actually be sending mo messages saying "how terrible dysan is" then i find that funny too. And if it is true, why dont u guys tell me??

So i dont agree with a few projects...big whoppee guys! More than half of Gauteng and south africa dont agree with the Gautrain. And the same applies in CT with the excessive spending on the new stadium. So it is not something that "this blantently biased durban boy" is only complaining about.

I am really tired of this attitude that you (mo) have toward me. one moment you are sending me sweet little pm's asking random stuff and wishing me luck for exams and stuff and the next you are tirading against me when i have done nothing wrong. please tkae ur exam stress out on a wall or something else. or seek something else...

I dont want to have to comment on this again. Thanks for all the attention tho. shows i mean something :)

Have a good weekend everyone

Michael
