tangier is not a little port , is among the biggest cities of Morocco and in few years it will became the second industrial city after Casablanca, and also if may became the 2nd or third biggest touristic destination after Marrakech and Agadir

You may have not liked Tangiers, but you can't say "Tangiers is not like that", or "post real pictures of Tangiers", as if Redalinho was posting photoshoped pics or pics of another city... What, you wanted to see pics of dirty slums? Well, when people go to Paris they don't take pics of the slums, do they?
It seems you're typing from Lisbon, MarcoSousa, well... when I was in Lisbon (one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen) I didn't take pics of places I considered ugly or run down, it's just logical, they're trying to show the beauty of Tangiers here, it's not like they deny the problems the city may suffer.

I have been in many marrocan citys like Fez,Rabat, Meknes e.t.c. And Tanger was the most ugly. When i arrive in Tanger it was a choq. Tanger is not a safe city to walk, me and me friend were always afraid. when i say that tanger is not like that, i was saying that, the center of Tanger is very bad.

marco, i just been few weeks ago to tangiers, and didn't see all what you said, perhaps we don't go to the same places. of course there are bad and dirty areas like in every city, but personaly i love tangier and i found it among the most fbeautiful cities of morocco. i guess you went to a bad area. and i hope you have another opportunity to visit it again and see the good places and spots redalinho posted

I think that you have some reason :) Maybe the next time i will see the good area of Tanger. I whant to visit again Marrocos, but this time i only visit Marrakech, Ouarzarzate and the beautiful city of Fez :)

Woah, the place looks stunning, looks the like perfect place for a romantic getaway! And it's really not far from Spain!
And as Casa said, it's not expensive for the high quality offered! I also recommend you guys to download the video from their website... the place is really neat :)

Surfing their website I also found some interesting info about a town called Chefchaouen:

"Chefchaouen or Chaouen, is situated at 120 km south-east of Tangier. The blue and white city with its crowned houses of red tiles is one the most charming cities of the north of Morocco. The traditional landscape is remained intact and the rural and urban world are combined harmoniously.

Founded into 1471, there in Chechaouen took refuge a number of morisques expelled from Spain. Their influence is manifested in the choice of the colours, manners, the patronyms, handicraft and the architecture of the city. Its architectural style is a coexistance of a typically Moroccan médina with its mosques, sanctuaries, studdedgates and paved lanes of rollers and a traditional spanish plaza with its arcades, tiled red roofs and banks decorated with zeliges around the fountain.

With its Kasbah recently restored and in its flowered gardens, you will taste one quiet moment under shade palm trees. In the shops and the souks of the Medina, people sell handicraft, carpets of local manufacture and polished stones coming from the surrounding hills to you. The pottery, the leather working and the work of the copper of this refined city are very famous."

I'm really happy to see this photos. Just a few years before this spanish buildings near the harbour entry were in a pitiful state... Now they seem like news !

Wow Tangier is actually much more developed and clean than I thought.

One of my criticism and fears in respect to Tangiers is that it is losiing the centrality of Spanish, as I get to see more pictures with French advertisement...I think it would have been so cool, if all the advertisement in the street were in Spanish and all the population could speak fluent Spanish.

It would only stress the diversity and mysteriousness of Morocco. Similarly, it will also incite more Moroccans to learn the language and open up to Western culture. It would also reflect the Spanish history of the region and closer cooperation with spanish businesses... it would basically be the gateway to spanish investment into the rest of Morocco and also improving the bad image and reputation of the state and prejudice amongst the population.

After all Morocco is the only country in North Africa, and one of only few in continent that has Spanish speakers. Who knows perhaps it would open up relations with L. America... if Moroccans were perceived as Hispanophones, rather than simply an extension of the Middle East and all Arabs..

I do not think it is sick to value a state's historical cultural heritage. After all if you are trying to sell yourself and attract investments/tourism it is important to stress the differences and aspects that make you unique. Plus, sociological studies show that pple are more comfortable doing business with pple that share similar things as them than others. Hence, the challenge is to try and attract Spanish investment by showing that pple across the strait are not that different. After all the Polisario is doing the exact same thing and getting much support from L.American states by arguing that they are the only Spanish speaking Arab state. Hence, you see those countries support them in their political goals.
Hence, true it is Arab... but there is also much Hispanic influence and interdependence. I mean if you look at history, well Moroccans were part of a common Mediterranean Greek/Roman empire, various dynasties with Spaniards...
