most of these buildings were demolished and more modern ones were built instead.

Don't be suprised if what is being built right now gets demolished in 20-30 years and new more future modern ones get built ;).

PS: I had a Sony DSC-T9 camera and I wanna get a better and more proffessional camera.. so what do you guys suggest Canon, Nikon or anything else? Please let me know!

no its not its an old man made island I think its for small ships servecs... um annamel somwher in doha bay (( its linked weth doha port and stors )) not in qatar ;)

^ dude it was a furnace. before hospitals had furnaces to burn infested stuff, they used to take it to umm namil island to burn the crap.

it was also a sewege disposal area, before kuwait had proper sewage systems.

( was stationed in Al Qurnah on the first tour and Basra and Al Faw on the second - so not too far away )

I really liked Kuwait City... unfortunatly I didn't get the time to explore it much - as even our mall runs and visits to the beach was "times of service" so we had to stay there in groups and don't wander too far off :)

The contrast between Kuwait and Southern Iraq is amazing - one minute your on a 6 lane lit freeway with perfect tarmack and the next you are on a dirtroad and have begging old ladies on all sides...

So Kuwait with it's modern civilization was a very welcome sight after a few weeks up north! :)

alright.......Kuwait seems like a very interesting place to drop by for a couple a days this summer................I am seriously considering it.....how is it over there, I wanna ask a couple of question you guys if you don’t mind.

How is the nightlife in Kuwait, is it true that alcohol is completely forbidden over there?
What is the highest building in Kuwait, how high? And what’s the highest storey?
What do you guys do for fun in Kuwait, what do you do at night in Kuwait? Considering there are no clubs and bars.

hey ahmad welcome to kuwait anytime...... well the weather is hot sometimes humid and dusty :P lol

there are no nightclubs in kuwait that are legal ;p and yes alcohol is forbidden here.
currently the highest building is liberation tower 372m, highest building is baitak tower 177m

underconstruction there is alhamra tower which will be the highest in kuwait 412m.

well we have cinemas, malls and well im not the guy to answer what to do at night!! im not a night guy :lol:

i don't think so , they are just trying to give a face lift to our +30 years old towers , btw what happen to dasman project as far as i know they sold the land couple of years a go to kfh tell today nothing is planed !

skouli i read a couple of days ago that the baladiya wants to own the dasman palace area and make it to a museum !!

but if they sold it, so its privately owned
