Ottawa has this architecture? Now I am also surprised :eek:

Anyway - it's maybe the most unknown capital of a well known country by name and nature apart from Canberra, Bern and Brasilia - although the latter is known by architects ;)

Don't forget Ivory Coast! Many think it's Abidjan but it is not the official capital (Yamoussoukro)

I was surprised when I went to Ottawa too, it has some great European style architecture and many can mistake it with Quebec.

There are many cities which most people think are the capital of their country.

Almaty - Kazachstan
Dar es Salaam - Tanzania
Johannesburg - South Africa
UAE - Abu Dhabi

Almaty is not capital anymore. Astana even MEANS capital afaik ;)
Abu Dhabi is ...still... capital
Dar-es-Salam is stil the seat of the government although the capital has been moved to Dodoma (who ever knows THAT place :lol: ) - same as in Malaysia
Yamoussoukro is famous for that
