My family travels a lot. We travel all over the world, and during the years and trisp, we've manage to built our own "family travel bible".
we used to share this "vacation bible" with our friends in our home-town, and we came to conglusion that we should share it with the rest fo famileis who plan to visit new-england in particual, and with famileis who plan on vacation in the usa in general.

Here are some good recommandations for families who travel to New-England.
it is a non-commercial site, actually, it is made by and for families who never been to new-england or famileis who wish to make their vacation satisfaing and fun.

Yeah, I say...go for it...

Boston is a must, but there are also Providence, Cape Cod, the CT casinos...all major draws.

But unless you like nature, or to ski...you might find VT, Maine, or NH boring (I do).

Maine is nice, great beaches. Especially if you like the whole maritime feel, probably the best you'll get in the US. My favorite New England State, for like the whole 10 hours I've ever been there lol.

NH is boring, I lived there. Good enough to live in, but not really a whole heck of a lot of "touristy" stuff to do besides leaf-peeping.

VT. I hate VT. Nearly all aspects of it. Just to think, if NY and NH could have gotten along a little better way back when, the Feds wouldn't have had to intervene, and there would be no VT (cut in on a line roughly from Bennington in the south to Derby in the north, roughly).

After college, I spent the summer in Newport Rhode Island. Great town, a little pretentious with the bluebloods that "summer" there. But you can have a lot of fun
and there are plenty of things to do and great restaurants too. You can easily drive to Providence and Boston as well. Nantucket is also great, but you can't get to it as easily.

I'd put Portland's nightlife against Hartford's any day of the week.

Whoever said I would go to Hartford for nightlife?

You didn't. That was just my response after you put out a blanket statement about all of VT, NH and Maine being boring save for nature and ski areas.
There's certainly no BIG city in Northern New England, but Portland is anything but boring, especially in the Old Port. Downtown Portsmouth is also a nice district. I've never been to Burlington, but I bet that wouldn't be boring either.

Okay, that was a little bit of a generalization, I agree...

Northern New England seems so empty compared to here, in contrast to CT...

Mohegan Sun if you want to see casinos and right near it is Foxwoods but Mohegan is a bit younger and fresher also nearby is Mystic Seaport,The submarine factory in New London and Providence and Boston aren't really that far you can also see Cape Cod,New Port and if you have time go to Nantucket or Marthas vineyard.

Burlington, IMHO, is a nice little city, but massively overrated. I've run into more than a few people that literally equate it to Utopia, frankly I just don't get it.

I'll take the empty wooded mountains and empty lively small towns of Northern New England over the relentless sprawl and dysfunctional cities of CT.

Hmmm...Different strokes for different folks, it seems.

I'd take the hustle and bustle of NYC, than CT in a heartbeat.
