Jeddah, or that new place they're building to the north of it which is also supposed to be the new educational, technological and financial center of KSA (kind of a dubai copy if you ask me. that region doesn't need multiple mega financial centers, foreign banks just put a big office in UAE and that's that usually.)

I think it's gonna be a skyscraper in the shape of a minarate. Do you remember the old Faisliyah tower? It used to look like a minirate even with the crescent on top of it but then they changed the design in the middle of construction.

taif actually has great natural scenary....and spectacular views from the roads that lead up to the city...

I lived in Taif for a few years... beautiful place... and no mutawaiin

I can't wait to see the Saudi stamp on the world architectural scene

What is most exciting, the view range from elevation of 1000m is some 110km (if I'm not wrong).
B/c Taif has some elevation itself (but I don't know what is its actual value) you will be able to see beaches of Red Sea from the observation deck (if it will be accessible) with such elevation (above sea level).
I hope they will install some good telescopes there :D

Riyadh can you post pics of the old faisaliyah tower? I never saw it...

Would be great for taif to have such a tower :).
Due to its elevation and height we might even be able to see burj dubai from it at night ;).

Khanrak are you westerner or are you an arab/muslim? because when i went to taif in 2000 most of the people were religious I don't think they need some mutawain lol its like if they all were mutawain...

No, Qassim has the most muttawas in SA and Jeddah is on the loose lol.

Anyway, back to the topic, I visited Taif 6-7 years ago and I think it is very beautiful place but it need more attention which I believe the city will get it with King Abdullah. may Allah bless him. :-)

HOT NEWS ,before 6 hours when i post i was in taif i seen super Skyscraper from far away in night i seen tower risen above the mountens ,i was very suprise ,are you sure these one 1000m is new one ?? or its these i seen it????
