I love it!!!! The New Town Centre in general looks good, but I have to admit that the buildings (both built & proposed) started looking repetitive. This looks like a nice breath of fresh air.

Best regards,
Umhlanga

^^ i do hear what ur saying. from the renders they do look repetitive...

BUT... when built and ur standing next to them, they look rather different and unique...i walked past the ones in aurora drive and along palm boulevard today.

The retail stores in 7 on Palm will be opening end of August.

I LOVE this one - it is timeless and very classy. I can imagine a PRADA and LOUIS VUITTON in the retail sector.

^^ you know why it is unique? cos it was not done by one of the big design houses (EPA are everywhere!!!).

the architect is Torbjorn Hanssen Architects based in La Lucia.

This area around the park is supposed to be THE area in the NTC according to Moreland. As such this classy style seems that it will be the tone for the area. i have 3 other dev's in a similar style to post, all next to this one. they are all classical in design.

Hmm if this is deemed to be the "Elite" part of NTC, with all the other not so "elite" place starting from a mill this place should start at 2-3 mill?

i dont have prices, but from what i gathered from Moreland you will only find large apartments in this area, with sweeping glass views accross the park. Pricing was starting at R3,5m for this one

just some more images, and a location guide as to where it is in relation to the park, for orientation. The high street will be lined with exclusive stores, cafes, restaurants and bars...moreland stated: "The high street will not have any chain restaurants and only the high end fashion stores. We want it to be THE street for parkside's elite."

With all eyes focusing on developments in the Umhlanga Ridge New Town Centre, it comes as no surprise that Madison On Park Drive was 80% sold out prior to the official public launch! This joint venture with Cape Town based Loius Group comprises of 5600sqm of retail and office space worth R95m, with a prime location to the north of the Gateway Shopping Centre overlooking CJ Saunders Park. It is anticipated that construction will commence by early 2007 for completion mid 2008.

Following on the succses of this project, Key Projects have entered into partnership with Rick Wilson, well known Durban business man, to develop Mayfair. Situated next to Madison, this R91m development consists of 5 200sqm of retail and office space, and plans should be finalised in the new year. Interest in this site is an indication that this area will be a highly popular and presitigous destination to work and live in.

What a contrast in the 2 designs, one side has an oldish architectural look to it with the new modern office block oppositte it. I like it makes the area less boring.

Some more i took today. Growthpoint have fully moved into the roof and work is on a retail store downstairs...me thinks it looks like a cafe.

Personally i love the detail in this building, all the moulds, lighting.
