In fact, Urumqi is in Uigur Xinjiang...She's in the most Northwest China, far from the center of China or eastern coast...

I'd say, you know more chinese cities than an average Chinese. :runaway:
gaoanyu July 26th, 2006, 12:53 PM So what about this city of China?
http://seis.bris.ac.uk/~eezag/ssc/0002.jpg
feverwin July 26th, 2006, 03:52 PM Like a southern coast city...I haven't been there...Yantai? Fuzhou?Zhanjiang?
gaoanyu July 26th, 2006, 06:02 PM nope, go on:D
SanMiguel July 26th, 2006, 11:42 PM that's Guangzhou
standing somewhere east of the center-city, at opposite side (south) of Ersha Island, looking westwards.
this time the bridge, the balustrades design and the lanterns gave it away...

You are not from this world, are you?
SanMiguel July 27th, 2006, 11:28 AM i am from this world, dun worry :D
actually i suck when it comes to guess cities/towns without highrises
and airport-guesses are also not my thing...
nobody is perfect ;)
.
gaoanyu July 27th, 2006, 12:39 PM actually i suck when it comes to guess cities/towns without highrises, here you go
http://seis.bris.ac.uk/~eezag/ssc/0001.jpg
feverwin July 27th, 2006, 12:48 PM A such small town with no highrise? Millions in CHina...How to guess it... :runaway:
SanMiguel July 27th, 2006, 05:35 PM ^^ indeed
this even could be a town in my area, the Black Forest in southwest Germany...
this one i dunno! but let's try... is it China? and if so, is it in Jiangsu ,Anhui or Zhejiang Province?
.
Küsel July 27th, 2006, 06:57 PM This is impossible - probably some small industrial town between Xian and Ulan Ude
gaoanyu July 27th, 2006, 07:42 PM Okok, let's consider that as a joke.
But I will take it as a right answer if you guess right the province.
Hint: it has something to do with my Location. Ulan Ude is a good one though
This is the real test:
http://seis.bris.ac.uk/~eezag/ssc/BJ0002.jpg
SanMiguel July 27th, 2006, 10:09 PM http://seis.bris.ac.uk/~eezag/ssc/0001.jpg
^ is it in Heilongjiang?
the pagoda pic: Xi'an, Beijing or Shanghai?
.
feverwin July 27th, 2006, 11:57 PM Tianjing, maybe...
Küsel July 28th, 2006, 12:52 PM Okok, let's consider that as a joke.

Looks like the gate in Tintin's Blue Lotus (Shanghai)
gaoanyu July 28th, 2006, 12:58 PM Heilongjiang is the right answer, and the town's name is called 一面坡, it's a real town. It's two scales down than the provincial capital Harbin, with residents I think around 10,000 :D
Anyway, none of you have got the the real test right, so keep going.
SanMiguel July 29th, 2006, 03:59 AM Nanjing? Shouzhou? Hangzhou?
.
gaoanyu July 31st, 2006, 11:39 AM It's Shenyang :)
SanMiguel July 31st, 2006, 06:23 PM ohhh :?
just a few min ago i found a pic of Nanjing,
and i was happy coz i was sure now, that u will say: "yes, it's Nanjing"
but now i'm a bit puzzled... is previous pic: Shenyang or Nanjing?
or both cities have almost similar temple/pagode ???
or the one i found isn't Nanjing?
here the pic of Nanjing:
http://i.pbase.com/o4/45/599045/1/59911051.IMG_3011.jpg
.
SanMiguel August 11th, 2006, 01:54 PM gaoanyu, can u check this for me pls?
i'm pretty sure both pics are taken at same place.
but which one? Nanjing or Shenyang?
thx
peer2beer August 11th, 2006, 02:35 PM These 2 gates actually look different...
SanMiguel September 11th, 2006, 01:42 PM i still think it is Nanjing, not Shenyang...
compare both pics and u will even see that the light-blue building "behind" the gate look the same.
