Despite Dubai's looming influence — or possibly because of it — the gazillionaire next door can be a touchy topic. Among the gossipy gulf divas, Dubai is viewed a bit like Britney Spears: long on ambition but short on refinement.

As the Pearl's Nick Bashkiroff puts it, "If Dubai is Orlando or Las Vegas, then I'd say that Qatar is more Palm Beach or Santa Barbara."

Personally I'm more interested in Abu Dhabi, Doha and Manama than the tiresome Dubai.

I'm not sure what you mean, but Qatar is right next to Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E., I think they have alot of Arab of different nationalities (or none)

We're always hearing about Dubai in the news ect, but it is pretty exciting.

I think you answered your own thread in the last thread. But the ONE main difference is that Dubai planned for the future long before DOHA ever gave it a thought. Doha is catching up with construction, but DUBAI is already ahead in the game and will be for some time.
