So far, I've added 2 models, namely Cyber Towers (11F/40m, Hyderabad, India), and Belvedere Court (40F/149m, Mumbai, India). They're my first 2 Google Earth models, and I hope to make more soon.

Jai, I'd love to use some of your diagrams as textures for my models someday.

IMO, since Indian buildings haven't really shown up on Google Earth as 3rd-party add-ons except for a few (Taj Mahal/Qutub Minar/etc.), I've decided to make a few of my own. Feel free to join the effort to bring 3d Indian skylines to Google Earth.

Here's mumbai's WTC. It only has the first row of windows on the taller building, as it is the only one that isn't a single slit. This was also done to reduce the poly-count, for the sake of efficient Google Earth browsing.

Coming soon...Shreepati Arcade, Air India Building, ITC Grand Central (Mumbai), and much more!

Shreepati Arcade has been made for Google Earth. It looks like Mumbai's GE skyline is slowly coming together...

Good stuff!

How do you do it?

BTW Shreepati isn't as good looking as your 3D version.

I like the Kalpataru Heights the most. Those Bombay WTC looks like NY WTC minus the antenna.

Like to see you version of SD Towers. :)

Good stuff!

thx.

How do you do it?

Well, I used Google Sketchup to make these buildings. You can download it from sketchup.google.com and help contribute to India's Google Earth skyline.

BTW Shreepati isn't as good looking as your 3D version.

If I've really outdone the original, perhaps I should become a highrise architect.

I never use google earth - do these actualy appear to evryone using it, a bit like a wiki contribution?

Great work BTW :-)

Awesome work man! :)

Jai, I'd love to use some of your diagrams as textures for my models someday.Go for it :)

BTW, Do you need Google Earth to use Sketchup? Since moving to a dial up connection, GE isn't nearly as fun to use...

Well, it's sort of like a wiki contribution, but these models don't appear automatically. You have to download them to your computer in order to see them in Google Earth.

You really gotta try Google Earth someday. Trust me, it's a lot of fun, moreso than a standard globe.

Well, you don't need Google Earth to use Sketchcup, but it's highly reccomended and is required if you want to place your models in Google Earth.

Great job Naga!

This gives me an idea. Not sure if it is doable or whether it violates any rules.

But what if we build the entire set for under construction stuff in Mumbai?

This is ITC Grand Central (the Ashok Towers are just opposite to it)

Well, here's the first of the u/c complexes (textures by Jai):

Here they are: the Ashok Towers. I took some creative liberty in the back of the buildings as I couldn't find any renderings of them.

I was too busy to do this for the past several months, but now I finally got some time for something big. It is...

...wait for it...

...The 301m India Tower (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=b483b8ec9530b0db19e6b4595d593e70) currently u/c in Mumbai!

http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/download?mid=b483b8ec9530b0db19e6b4595d593e70&rtyp=lt&ctyp=other

Kudos to Jai for posting a bunch of renderings of it, and to the SSC users who went to the construction site after the announcement! I could not have made this model without their help.

NOTE: Although this building has started construction, since I haven't seen any u/c pics, I haven't checked the Google Earth Ready option. Therefore, it must be placed in GE manually by the user. I will check the box and therefore confirm that it is real and current when the actualy building structure starts coming up.

Thanks for the encouragement and support guys! It's always welcome and appreciated!

Anyway, here are two buildings from Delhi:

Palika Kendra, Delhi (I made this one a long time ago but I didn't upload it until now):

http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/download?mid=da26a5dfca9cb13e19e6b4595d593e70&rtyp=lt&ctyp=other

http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=da26a5dfca9cb13e19e6b4595d593e70

Hindustan Times House (I made it in just 1 hr, including making the textures):

http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/download?mid=b365d2b0e356841319e6b4595d593e70&rtyp=lt&ctyp=other

http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=b365d2b0e356841319e6b4595d593e70

Coming in next week (hopefully): DSK Durgamata Tower, Express Towers, Four Seasons Mumbai

BTW, does anyone else here make 3d models? If so, IMO we should do an SSC collective skyscraper project, and perhaps we can even tie it into the Indian Skyscraper blog (with Jai's permission, of course).

Excellent work Naga! ^^

Your 3D Sreepathi looks better than the real life version!

I agree too...the renderings & your 3D version of Shreepati looked much better than the building.

The front elevation looks classy, contempory and modern but the other elevations look naff! The architect should have kept the front elevation the same on each side and made the colour of the building white instead of beige as would stand out more.

Also the Villa on top of the roof could have been a better design. Bu then again we going by photos. Perhaps viewing this building in person may change my perception?

Rant over.......:bash:
