Hola! Anyone staying in Cau Guay, Hanoi? Can you share some information about this area? Seems all residential at the moment but I heard this area is the future new business district. There will be a monorail line near the convention centre. Is this true?

Anyone bought The Manor? Care to share? Thanks.

And I own a house there!hehe!

Care to share what it is like living around that area? Or your apartment is not completed yet? And where exactly is the future tram line, in front of the convention centre? By the way what is the Big C like, are they like a standard hyper mart (like other Big C in major cities) or just a small supermarket?

There are a lot of talks about master planning this and that but what are the chances of it being materialised? Take HCMC for eg, initially it was to develop the airport area then the govt change the plan and now Thu Thiem is the new urban area. My friend who bought a piece of land near the airport is now struggling because no one wants to buy the land! I also heard the Tu Liem area is better than Cau Giay (sorry for the typo earlier) and Ciputra is developing a major township there so, would that be a better location choice to live in?

Any feedback / thoughts is appreciated.

Cheers TQ, you wouldn't by any chance have the master plan or at least a map of where everything (you mentioned or proposed), would you? I have a tourist map I bought from the bookstore and guess what? They are for tourist! :bash:

The main problem with Vietnamese is it does not have any transliteration system, eg. Cau Giay should be presented as Kaw Zey coz Vietnamese alphabets are pronounced differently.

Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam
2005-2007
WSP Group in association with PTW Architects
$15 million (USD)

The project comprises a 16-storey office building on a site of approximately 18,000m². The client required the building design to be iconic and to facilitate creative interaction between staff and management. There are 12 levels of general office space including 2 executive levels with meeting facilities. The top level has staff recreational facilities including an open-air terrace. The building also includes puplicily accessible training facilities, display areas, and a 1000 seat auditorium. The auditorium requirement led to a structural solution with cores at each end of a long floor plate. The design contrasts the vertical cores (expressice of technology and movement) with the horizontal cantilevered floor slabs (the human realm). the slab projections protect the faase from southern and northern sun, while the cores shade the low-angeled and western sun.
