Nice pictures. What other areas of Philly did you visit?

I think I see Dr. Huxtable leaving his house in one of your pictures. ;)

Didn't Dr. Huxtable live in New York? ;)

Solid as a rock indeed. Herodotus, you've done it again. Once again, great photos. I've always liked Philly's brownstones and rowhouses. Some of them remind of the brownstones I pass by in upper Manhattan and Fort Greene, Brooklyn, while others have a look all their own. And of course, there's the very attractive downtown skyline. These are the kinds of pictures of Philly that should be shown to people who still think it's a city of crime and slums.

The Cosby Show took place in Brooklyn. By the way herodotus; excellent pictures as always.

I guess I should've been more explicit; I was simply pointing out that some of the houses look like the house used to portray the Huxtable residence. The real Bill Cosby is a Philly guy, anyway.

This picture kind of reminds me of Chicago. It's sad to see a city like Philadelphia which is known for unique shopping, unique this and that always one of a kind. Now it's copying a Chicago Skyline View just sad.

Great pics!

And yes, we have our share of Canadian Geese in Philly too. LOL, I've made the mistake of playing golf a couple of years ago at FDR Park, not far from the stadium complex. The whole course is loaded with goose sh*t! I smelled that funk for at least 3 days afterwards...

bricks!

Better get used to them as long as you're looking at pictures of the NE. A house without bricks is like a car without wheels, as far as I'm concerned.

Didn't he go to Temple?

Yup! He went to Temple and he lives in a suburb of Philly (Montgomery Cty. I think).

just because philly is building new skyscrapers and the hazy day w/a black boxy tower from along time ago reminds you of chicago doesnt imply that philly is "copying a chicago skyline view" philly is its own city as is chicago and i dont think either of them wants to be the other, philly can have skyscrapers too just like New york, chicago, miami, hong kong etc they are all still very distinct cities despite having similar buildings.

as a new center city resident who leaves very near that black box tower (PECO) let me tell you philly is moving to its own rhythm and i love that beat more and more each day ! go philly !!!!!!!!
