Epidavros, 18 miles northeast of Nafplion, is the best-preserved ancient Greek theater. It was built 2,500 years ago to seat 14,000. Today it's kept busy reviving the greatest plays of antiquity. You can catch performances of ancient Greek comedies and tragedies on weekends from mid-June through September. The theater's marvelous acoustics are best enjoyed in near-solitude. Sitting in the most distant seat as your partner stands on the stage, you can practically hear the retsina rumbling in their stomach.

The most important thing isn't shown... i'm talking about the view of the stage and the impressive natural background seen from the balcony...

this is a world inheritance. our ancester, before build anything, always re-consider everything before action plan.is there any point more than 10??i'll give this big 10 point:)

Ive been to Epidavros. Its true that the acoustics of that theater is ... what can i say... One of the best in the world? The best? I dont know. I havent been to many theaters like this one. But its amazing when you realise that you are in the top seats and you can hear people talking normaly down in the stage. Imagine that when performances are given the actors do not need microphones etc. I think that the theater has been built like a huge ... speaker. I cannot describe it in any other way.

And the more amazing thing is that it was built by people who lived 2500 years ago... They knew how the sound travels in the air and how they can manipulate a area to have better acoustics ( by practicing of course, there are many ancient theaters like epidavrus ). Observation of a problem. Practicing and expiramentation. Solution. This is the ( revolutionary for their times ) way the ancient Greeks used, and this can be observed clearly in this theater. Their spirit lives on today.
