godblessbotox July 29th, 2006, 02:41 AM hot dog! i love this city!
Westsidelife July 29th, 2006, 03:25 AM That tower will be next to The Piero Apartments and will be near 1100 Wilshire.
FROM LOS ANGELES July 29th, 2006, 03:27 AM Who's the developer, and does this building have a website??
Westsidelife July 29th, 2006, 03:34 AM This was the website where the info and renderings were found:
http://www.amidigroup.com/AMIDIRealEstateGroup.html
The Baz July 29th, 2006, 04:01 AM :applause::applause::applause::applause::applause:
Joey313 July 29th, 2006, 04:47 AM yes more high rise
:runaway:
SpaceMan1 July 29th, 2006, 05:46 AM Its a pretty awesome building and it will add density. Is this residential or commercial though?
Westsidelife July 29th, 2006, 05:48 AM Well you can tell that it's at least partially residential because of the roof-top pool at the building's base.
godblessbotox July 29th, 2006, 05:56 AM this really is a sexy building
Westsidelife July 29th, 2006, 06:08 AM Also, the residential units will probably be aimed towards high-end buyers, many of which would likely be executives given the fact that the Financial District is just up the street.
klamedia July 29th, 2006, 06:59 AM Oh City Of Angels, I Love You!
alex3000 July 29th, 2006, 01:39 PM That's what I call architecture!
Reluctantpopstar July 29th, 2006, 03:40 PM Right now on that lot I believe is a low-rise (I think two story) office building or maybe a tumbledown old motel (that might be on 7th street, I might be confusing it). Either way, nothing of any architectural significance will be lost by building this, thankfully.
Yes! High rises moving across the 110 Freeway into City West! Yahoo!
Only three blocks from the Red Line stop.
Build it! Yes!
Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!
SpaceMan1 July 29th, 2006, 03:45 PM The tower is really nice, I like how the second picture accentuates the metallic sleekness, and I also love the silver metallic 4 story front building. How slim is this thing gonna be? If that back structure is realy a swimming pool, then it will be a thing building, but that might be nice considering it's height.

ArchiTennis July 30th, 2006, 01:39 AM absofuckinglutely beautiful!!! when can I move in???? oh...in the first picture, are the brown and tan buildings in the background new? I don't think I've seen those before
Westsidelife July 30th, 2006, 01:43 AM You can use the DTLA interactive map to locate buildings:
http://www.downtownla.com/map6.htm
Westsidelife July 30th, 2006, 07:08 AM Oops, I just realized that you were referring to the first photo not the second.
SpaceMan1 July 30th, 2006, 07:18 AM So there going to be across the street from 1100 Wilshire? NICE, thats gonna be a pretty good spot in the skyline.
saiholmes July 30th, 2006, 08:48 AM Beautiful!

Fern~Fern* August 3rd, 2006, 07:23 PM how many parking spots per unit? ...wouldnt mind being there unless i can park my entourage...
Botox have you not learn that the new generation of Angelinos don't drive nor need parking. Geez Botox after all these years here I would of tought you would of got it by now........... Remember the Hyundai goes back to Carmax!!!!!!!
FROM LOS ANGELES August 3rd, 2006, 09:00 PM Where's the nearest Red Line station for this building?
For 'Botox
If there are 402 unit and 875 parking spaces that is 2 parking spaces per unit, and a little visitor parking. Or maybe the more expensive unit get 3 parking spaces.
godblessbotox August 3rd, 2006, 09:31 PM holy cow... maybe i should start burning flags and eating babies born from stem-cells....
hyundai goes back to carmax if the silver line comes to botox
thank you from la, were did you get that info from?
danparker276 August 4th, 2006, 12:20 AM nearest redline is 7th and Metro. Entrance at 7th and Fig. 6 min walk from 1100 wilshire.
Damien August 5th, 2006, 08:18 PM Where's the ground-floor retail?
thelongranger101 August 6th, 2006, 04:10 AM THIS TOWER LOOKS SO MODERN WILL FIT NICELY INTO THE L.A skyline when ur looking at it from hollywood hills
Westsidelife August 6th, 2006, 09:09 AM I had some spare time so I made this rendering of the LA skyline with 1027 Wilshire. I even matched the tones of the sky and mountains. Keep in mind that the view from this angle would be a little different as we would be viewing the side of the tower.

sean11 August 6th, 2006, 10:25 AM Thats a awesome rendering thanks.
ArchiTennis November 10th, 2006, 05:37 AM what ever happened to this project?..oh and where is the Olympic Thread? I can't find it
soup or man November 10th, 2006, 05:57 AM Still proposed obviously. It takes months and months and months for a building to be approved.
Fern~Fern* November 10th, 2006, 06:03 AM There's a hand full of proposals that went MIA!!!!
Joey313 November 11th, 2006, 04:22 AM this tower is defenatly getting built
godblessbotox November 11th, 2006, 04:41 AM and how do you know that? not saying i would not like to see the glamerous building. but can you quote or link somthing to back it up?
hu? can you? :poke:
Westsidelife November 11th, 2006, 04:48 AM Glamorous? Anyways, I wouldn't have high hopes for this one. We just happened to come across this one. There wasn't any formal announcement. And I don't recall this ever beeing the DCID list of projects.
godblessbotox November 11th, 2006, 04:56 AM you say tomato...
croyboy November 11th, 2006, 08:08 AM but i think the lot this tower will sit on is being dug up right now. are they putting something up?
FROM LOS ANGELES November 11th, 2006, 08:50 AM ???????????????? Keep fingers crossed.
Fern~Fern* November 11th, 2006, 09:02 AM but i think the lot this tower will sit on is being dug up right now. are they putting something up?

godblessbotox November 11th, 2006, 09:26 AM A "BIG" FREE parking structure.....
klamedia November 11th, 2006, 08:31 PM Oh, the dead die hard.......
pottebaum November 12th, 2006, 02:11 AM I'm not liking the parking podium, but I love the tower as a whole. It'll look great.
ArchiTennis November 12th, 2006, 04:05 AM I don't like that parking podium either....is this gonna be another fortress? I really hope retail is incorporated into this project...actually, it should be incorporated into every new project built.
Neutral! November 12th, 2006, 04:10 AM Cool shiny building, we need more!
Epicentre November 16th, 2006, 09:57 PM Thanks for the link, the first rendering in Glendale is where the parking structure is for my building right now.
LosAngelesSportsFan November 16th, 2006, 10:24 PM Thats not glendale, its city west in downtown LA.
godblessbotox November 17th, 2006, 12:02 AM ha ha ha... oh my

I know downtown Glendale from downtown LA after 32 years here. Check the other properties below the DTLA one.
leftcoaster November 20th, 2006, 10:28 PM Looks amazing, hope it gets built but I doubt it seriously. The market has peaked and there is just too much new residential to absorb in DTLA, either recently completed or being built . Developers (and banks) are taking a breath at the moment.
godblessbotox November 20th, 2006, 10:39 PM no dubiaous construction chaos here!
but i do wish this one end goes up. it would be nice crowning moment for the resent boom

^^ LA needs to take a breather in 2015 before the LA Olympics only. Right now is the time to build...build...build in Downtown....
ArchiTennis November 21st, 2006, 07:16 AM you know...as much as I want L.A. to continue building, I would like it to slow down a little bit...maybe prices will go down somewhat? when i move back, I really wish I could afford to live in downtown - not downtown "adjacent" like realtors say...you know, like "Pacoima, it's close to downtown"- a realtor would say that
San Marino Guy August 8th, 2009, 11:31 AM you know...as much as I want L.A. to continue building, I would like it to slow down a little bit...maybe prices will go down somewhat? when i move back, I really wish I could afford to live in downtown - not downtown "adjacent" like realtors say...you know, like "Pacoima, it's close to downtown"- a realtor would say that
Aw man ArchiTennis, you had to say that. No kidding construction would slow down and prices with it. Anyways, is this project dead? It used to be one of my favorites.
uRbAnlP August 9th, 2009, 04:18 AM It's going to give a nice skyline outisde DLA next to 1100 W. How long do you think 'till it's finished?
jamworks August 13th, 2009, 05:56 AM I notice the frontage of the lower levels along Wilshire Blvd. is set back farther than the building directly to the west (which is 1055 Wilshire, I think -- a building that looks like it's not going to disappear anytime soon). Perhaps the extra pedestrian space is a good thing. But I hope there is some sort of plan for a new, consistent "street wall", as additional development occurs in this area. I hope this is not simply an isolated "nature bandaid" to appease possible opponents. Generally, I don't like the erratic setbacks we have throughout the city, because they make the city look unplanned.
Taylorhoge August 13th, 2009, 07:16 AM Is this still going through??? One more orgasmic addition to an already orgasmic city
lilyyin99 August 29th, 2009, 09:49 AM that nice ,ok
CharlotteJ August 30th, 2009, 09:38 PM I like it too, wow! enrichment of LA's skyline for sure
Can't wait to see it standing tall out there
CharlotteJ August 30th, 2009, 09:38 PM LA 's downtown skyline is so sexy
milquetoast August 31st, 2009, 04:48 AM Lilyy and Charlotte. I sense....... sarcasm, and maybe a hint of snarkyness..

^^you are kidding us huh? :ohno:
your senses are malfunctioning for sure. I sense .... LOVE and a true sense of appreciation for a city that is considered ugly to many around this globe.
Ask anybody here in Europe and they will say that San Francisco is beautiful while LA is ugly. I see it quite differently and what I say, is pure and right from my heart.
LA is beautiful.
milquetoast September 1st, 2009, 05:49 AM Well, you're quite simply hanging around the wrong Europeans- there, I said it!

Who says that? This sounds like some really ignorant and underexposed "Europeans".
aaron1 September 2nd, 2009, 05:28 AM Is this project still gonna happen? It's still a parking lot.
Westsidelife September 2nd, 2009, 10:15 AM ^ Nope. Sorry folks, this one was canceled a while back.
CharlotteJ September 2nd, 2009, 05:18 PM Who says that? This sounds like some really ignorant and underexposed "Europeans".
Yes, I mean it and that is exactly my problem explaining to them that they are all so wrong. But believe me, it is exactly as it is here. I live in Europe for 16 years now, have been speaking and met so many ever since and each time I ask them the question which city they like a lot, the answer always lead: San Francisco!!! it amazes me, cause off course SF is beautifully located by the Bay, but hello, what about LA? it has beautiful hills, miles and miles of beaches and a big beautiful blue Ocean, a skyline that is surely worth a visit and spend a whole day exploring the downtown and the many museaums, not mentioning the parks, the ranches and the history of the city itself. I don't get it and that is why I told you guys what I hear.
Yes, that makes those Europeans the " wrong" ones and I suppose that makes all of them being wrong too! sad huh?
I love LA, San Francisco is beautiful but somehow, it always makes me get bored and depressed and let's be honest, not everything that is European or comes from Europe or looks like Europe is considered fun and beautiful, otherwise Europeans won't make such an effort to make their cities look like USA or Canada. Look at Paris, London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan, Warsaw, Praque, all somehow busy developping their cities and try to make it all look like LA or NYC, even Moscow is doing it and guess what, none will ever achieve that! never, ever
klamedia September 2nd, 2009, 06:47 PM Hmmm, sad.
pesto September 2nd, 2009, 07:49 PM I have spent a lot of time speaking with Europeans and they almost always prefer SF to LA. The main exceptions are the beach and art freaks (2 very disparate groups).
But the part of LA they like best is Solvang, so there is some clue as to what the driver here is. SF has enormous surface charm (scenery, architecture). It is also a complex and interesting city, but most visitors aren't going to get that far; what counts for a visitor is rather narrow and rather shallow: Riverwalk in San Antonio; the Eiffel Tower; the Strip in LV. All very attractive but with little to do with the city.
In any event, I wouldn't worry about SF; just make LA better and more livable.
I am interested in the comment that European cities are trying to Americanize. Certainly everywhere in the world is attmepting to Americanize as quickly as possible (usually while denying it vigorously) but what ways did you have in mind?
LosAngelesSportsFan September 2nd, 2009, 09:51 PM interesting topic guys but in the wrong thread. i will close this one but feel free to start a thread in the main LA forum.
