Lake Keowee, a beautiful mountain lake in the Upstate of South Carolina, is loaded with high quality residential golf developments, but it is soon to have the addition of medium density luxury condominiums. MonteLago (http://www.marickhomebuilders.com/realestate_montelago.php) , a $250-million resort development, is planned to be on par with the Ritz Carlton and Grove Park Inn in Asheville. Nearby are the multi-million dollar homes of many world-renowned celebrities. :)

More about MonteLago. (http://www.marickhomebuilders.com/news.php?article=3)

Upscale sprawl is still sprawl.

And sprawl can easily be found around every booming city in the U.S. - more options for more people. :bowtie:

I would not call this sprawl. I doubt there will be many full time residents, therefore in my book it's just another development that's "out there". If there were retail and a Walmart in conjunction with this, then yes, but it's by itself on a nice lake with LAKE houses. I think sprawl is limited to having commuters going elsewhere and lots of developments around.

Otherwise, you could call Clemson's gameday condos Greenville's sprawl. Because people in Clemson are near by. BUT the big difference with sprawl and these is that these will be mainly used on game weekends, not as full-time residences.

What do you suggest instead? Should we figure out a way to move Lake Keowee closer to the city so it's not "sprawl"? :ohno:

Edit: I had a really nasty reply typed out here, but it's probably better not to go there.
