great shots there aron.
and you have the guts to ride sa roller coaster eh? ako rin gusto ko. kasi ang nakakatakot lang naman ay yung simula...di na nakakatakot yung in between. kasi wala namang masyadong loop. ang nakakatakot ay pag slow ang roller coaster then babagsak ka sa napakasteep na part. mas nakakatakot pa ata ang jungle jog jump (tama ba yung name?)
at least me EK tayo. world class na rin ang safety. too bad Condor isn't working for few years now. condor nga ba yun? hehe...

Disneyland of the Phil. ??... :D

Also known as Fantasy World, located in Lemery, Batangas. A 2 hours drive from Manila And half an hour from Tagaytay City. This one is for members only, exclusive for share holders, buyers and the like. The park was opened about four years ago but the development really slowed down.

ehem ehem...(steph sakin na to')...

umm well if you try to consult with an architect (ubo ubo ;)) in the near future eh makakamura ka... kaylangan lang ng good planning and creative concept for your theme park.

Always consider the location, kung ang tao ba eh mahilig sa entertainment and leisure, or inclined ba sila sa ibang aspeto ng kabuhayan.

At syempre sabi ko nga, nasa architect din un kung magaling syang mag budget and mag plan ng sgiven site for your theme park! ehehe...

(contact Ashley after 5 years.) uyyy... ngarap! :D

Last summer, I went to Ocean Adventure. Pwede naman sigurong malapitan at makunan ng pic ung mga animals... Ung may additional rates lang siguro ay ung "Encounter with the whale" at ung magpapagawa ka ng personalized pic mo with those animals (with all those borders and stuff). lol. :D

Nice EK pics! I've been there like three times already. Hindi ako nasasawa. Favorite ko ang Space Shuttle at Anchor's away. Kaya lang sobrang hassle sa weekends kasi kasabay mo mga nagfi-field trip. Ang haba ng pila sa mga rides!!! Argggghhhh!!!

Sana magkaroon ng competitor ang EK aside from the poor 2nd StarCity. Another world-class (StarCity isn't) theme park would give our tourism industry a little buff.

^^ Yeah.

Eh kasi naman, naiinis ako. Dapat ay showing na 'yan ngayon but it was moved to a later date, January 2006, to make way for the Metro Manila Film Festival dahil alam nila na anumang international film ang itapat sa kahit dose-dosenang Pinoy films, wagi parin ang international films. ;) Sorry, but this is true.

Maganda yung fantasy movies ngayon sa MMFF.
Pasado na yung special effects unlike before na mapapangiwi ka dahil obvious na cheap.

Ok yung Mulawin the Movie, Exodus-Tales of the Enchanted Kingdom (major sponsor ang EK, thus the title), Enteng Kabisote 2 (Ok yung dragon CGI, pasado na, hindi na nakakahiya).

Wala lang. Gusto ko lang ikwento kasi nakita ko yung trailers. heheehhe! :)

Like or better than Enchanted Kingdom and Splash Island
Theme park to rise in SRP
Dec. 26, 2005

Despite the political and economic crises hounding the country today, hotel developer and operator J. King and Sons Co. Inc. (JKSCI) remains confident in the country?s economy, as manifested by its investment plans on diverse businesses in the coming years.

Aside from its hotel and condominium projects in Cebu, JKSCI also plans to construct a three-hectare water theme park?the first of its kind in Cebu?at the South Road Properties (formerly south reclamation project), JKSCI chairman Richard King said.

He said JKSCI is now talking with Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña on the water theme park project, which King estimated to cost the company some $4 million.

?(If the talks between Mayor Osmeña and JKSCI succeed), JKSCI will build a water theme park that is like, if not better than, the Enchanted Kingdom and Splash Island,? King said.

?And because our (JKSCI) vision is to let the Cebuanos, especially the middle income group, experience the good life, we will make the fees very affordable,? he added.

?To give a good life at a very affordable rate to the middle income is also one of the reasons JKSCI is selling the club shares of Club Ultima at an affordable price of P210,000 per share this year. But we have been increasing the share price. It was 65,000 per share in 2003. We will increase the share price of Club Ultima by 40 percent next year,? King said.

Members

Club Ultima is a hybrid private membership club that will deliver the ?ultimate perks for a wealthy and healthy lifestyle.?

Since Club Ultima is a member of time-share management company Interval International, Club Ultima members have the chance to spend a free seven-day vacation every year at any of the 2,000 Interval International member-hotels located in 80 countries.

JKSCI?s Club Ultima now has more than 2,000 club members, King said.

The membership club, along with JKSCI?s condominium units, will be housed at the 20-story Fuente Tower 1, one of the towers in the Fuente Towers Complex, formerly Osmeña Tower.

One of the amenities available for Club Ultima members is the aqua fitness pool, where jets are installed to massage the body while relaxing. The pool also has a machine that produces current.

The Fuente Towers Complex consists of the adjacent twin towers, called the Fuente Tower 1, and the 38-story Fuente Tower 2, which will house the 300-room deluxe Crown Regency Hotel.

King said Fuente Tower 1 and some 100 rooms of Crown Regency Hotel will open in the first quarter of 2006.

With regard to Crown Regency Suites-Mactan, King said the hotel is doing ?good? with an average of 80 percent occupancy
rate last year. (JBN)

ferris wheel poh... ni research ko pa talaga eh... hehe

here's the history... got it from wikipedia...

It is named after George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr., who designed a 75-meter (250-foot) wheel for the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois in 1893. It was designed as a rival to the Eiffel Tower, the centerpiece of the 1889 Paris exhibition. This first wheel weighed 2000 tonnes (2200 tons) and could carry 2,160 persons at a time; Its axle was the largest piece of steel yet cast at that time. At 26 stories it was four stories taller than the tallest skyscraper in the world—also in Chicago—but only a quarter of the Eiffel Tower's height. It was reused at the St. Louis World's Fair.

Another famous Ferris wheel with a height of 65 meters, dating back to 1897, is the Riesenrad in Vienna's Prater in the second district of Leopoldstadt - see also World's Fair.

London, UK had its very own 'Gigantic Wheel' built at Earls Court in 1895, which was modelled on the original one in Chicago. This wheel stayed in service until 1906 by which time it had carried over 2.5 million passengers. It was built by two young Australian engineers named Adam Gaddelin and Gareth Watson and was the first of over 200 ferris wheels that they built world-wide.

At 212 feet (65 meters), The Texas Star at Fair Park is the largest ferris wheel in the Western Hemisphere. The wheel opened in 1985 and has a maximum capacity of 260 persons. Sky Dream Fukuoka in Fukuoka, Japan, at 112 meters in diameter and 120 meters from ground to top, is the largest Ferris wheel in the world.

The earliest ancestor of the Ferris wheel is the Ups-and-Downs, a crude, hand-turned device, which dates back at least to the 17th century and is still in use in some parts of the world.

yes there is a bird park, the montalban zoo (which I think now has a more fancy name has some ) Plus the puentespina orchid garden on the north east corner of EDSA and Quezon Ave. has a bird show, same as the one they have in Davao.

The Oceanarium project is apparently a go. They're bidding out contracts already with opening on 2007.

^^ they said they would make aritificial pool, Am not really sure as the presentation I saw was pretty quick though elaborate. I think they'll probably wall of an area with separate water from Manila Bay so they can filter it. On of the attractions supposedly is a swim with the sharks feature, if they use Manila bay water, direct from the bay , maybe many people will not want to do this , not for fear of the sharks but for fear of the water!

BOI okays P1.1-B ocean park proj
By Marianne V. Go
The Philippine Star 02/13/2006

The Board of Investments (BOI) has approved the P1.1-billion theme park venture of China Oceanis Philippines, Inc. as a pioneer tourism project.

The proposed Manila Ocean Park will be built on the existing 1.2-hectare Luneta boardwalk platform facing Manila Bay and at the back of the historical Quirino Grandstand.

The proposed ocean park will consist of an oceanarium, a marine discovery park, promenade areas, a boardwalk and a pavilion (theme and landscaped).

The venture aims to achieve two major goals for the country.

First, to become a major tourist destination in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia with a state-of-the-art oceanarium complex complemented by a marine life themed cultural, lifestyle and entertainment pavilion, and park facilities.

Second, it aims to create a grand "people?s park" along the bay for both local and foreign tourists to enjoy.

The project is designed to support the thrust of the Philippine Tourism Authority as well as the City Government of Manila to revitalize the area.

The main feature of the Manila Ocean Park is the state-of-the-art oceanarium that will contain thousands of sharks, colorful tropical fishes of various species and invertebrates indigenous to the Philippines.

The state of the art facility will have a transparent acrylic-made tunnel to provide visitors the experience of walking underwater and viewing the sea creatures.

The oceanarium will be a unique and world class educational and entertainment complex dedicated to showcase the rich and diverse marine life of the Philippine aquatic environment.

The park will also feature a "Jungle Trek", "Seven Seas" and "Lost Atlantis".

The 3-storey bay pavilion, with 15,566 sqm. floor area, will have retail shops, souvenir shops, restaurant facilities and a plaza for special shows and activities.

The top of the pavilion will be an open-air area with especially designed tarpaulin roofing which will house a big food court offering Filipino and Southeast Asian cuisines.

The marine discovery park will be landscaped with fountains and marine life.

This part of the theme park will be made available to the public for free.

The Manila Ocean Park project is a joint undertaking of Singaporean, Malaysian, Chinese and Australian proponents led by the China Oceanis Group.

With this endeavor, the joint venture is committed to contribute to the development of Philippine tourism.

Furthermore, its supports the thrust of the Philippine government in preserving the environment, generating employment for the people and boosting the economy by bringing in tourism revenues and generating additional revenues for the government.

Trade and Industry Secretary Peter B. Favila welcomed the new tourism venture which is expected to perk up further the economic activity in the Manila Bay area.

"The project jibes well with the economic program of the city especially its ?Buhayin ang Maynila? program. Roxas Boulevard is lined with first class visitor facilities and the upcoming theme park will be a big boost to the country?s tourism program which will cater to both local and foreign visitors," Favila said.

Trade Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Elmer C. Hernandez said the project is expected to create 1,830 new jobs. "Thus, the new project is beneficial not only to tourism but to the labor sector as well," Hernandez said.

Hernandez said that the BOI is biased to projects that generate not only investments but also to ventures that offer new jobs to the Filipino people.

The theme park is projected to open in February 2008.

I talked to the promoter, May to July every year it will be closed due to their perception of bad demand (rainy season), they're opening August , and the line up is quite good, they have korean partners who do this in Korea and make all the dinosaurs for the park there, and have actual skeletons of dinosaurs from China (even the fossils are now from china, pambihira), anyway the only problem I see is that he's still closing his financial round but they did their groundbreaking last friday already. Should be a good attraction for MM and they plan to tour parts of the exhibit to big cities in a year or two so the oteh provinces can see Dino Land , albeit smaller version.

Disneyland daw sa Pilipinas....

SOON........................

Highly unlikely, with Hong Kong and Tokyo already have Magic Kingdoms of their own, another Disney theme park in East/Southeast Asia is overkill.

Disneyland daw sa Pilipinas....

SOON........................

Highly unlikely considering Hong Kong already hosts a Disneyland theme park. Singapore on the other hand will host a Universal Studio theme park daw. Sana we can host a similarly well-know theme park for tourism and of course for Pinoy consumption.

Woah, nagmahal na?

Last May 2006, nung last naming punta eh P500 pa yung ride-all-you-can on weekends and holidays, P400 ang ride-all-you-can on weekdays.

----

By the way, sira na ba talaga yung ride na "Condors"? For 4 consecutive years na every summer kaming pumupunta eh palaging under maintenance :ohno:

I totally agree. Beside pag nagtayo ng Disneyland sa pinas, siguradong malulugi ang EK, kaya there is NOmore USE to have any Disneyland in pinas.

EK is ours, EK will rule. :)
