Why are the governments of all the other Arab countries such cowards?

Lebanon, a tiny Arab country, is being pounded to death by Israel. Where is Egypt with its huge population and resources? Where is Saudi Arabia with its huge oil reserves and cash? Where is Libya? Where is Jordan? Where is Algeria? Where are all the twenty something Arab countries?

Why is the Arab world so pathetic, that each govt. is just concerned for their own survival while their brothers and sisters are constantly being murdered by Israel?

Why is Iran, a non-Arab Persian country, the ONLY country that has the balls to stand up to Israel? Why is Iran doing 100X more to help the Lebanese and Palestinians than the other Arab countries?

When will the 300 million strong Arab world finally stand up together and fight the Israeli monsters back? Will the Palestinians be suffering for eternity? Will Israel have the right to bomb the Lebanese back to the stone age whenever they feel like it?

Come on Arabs, stop being so pathetic!

Honestly though, its a shame. The Middle East can be one of the most economically vibrant regions of the world. Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran all have massive potential and along with the Rich oil states it can do a lot of good.

And why is Baghdad burning? you should ask this question to your fellow muslims - it's not brits, americans or jews who are those suicide bombers you know... and about Beirut - well, you brought this on yourself, you should'v dealt with Hesbollah, i mean what do you expect, Israel was attacked and that attack came from your teritory, it was not Israel who provoked this conflict... (though ofcourse i dont support killings of an innocent people, and those men responsible for them should be considered and punished as war criminals)

Are you kidding? The only real ally to us in the Middle East is Israel. The next level would be Kuwait and Turkey. Saudi acts like our ally but really hates us and is trying to make money off of us. We are a real important economy to them. Trust me, no country in the Middle East is our puppet, not even Israel. Even Bush isnt really crazy about Israel. But they BUY alot of weapons from us. We DO NOT give them the weapons for free.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait, none of the Arabs cared. Thats because they were drowning in Saddam's oil revenues so they kept their mouths shut, APART FROM SMALL NUMBERS of good Arab people.

The Arab leaders are dirty politicians who care about their own political agendas. They dont care about the Muslim world. They dont care about the Arab world. They arent united. They dont care, bottomline!

Most of the Arab leaders are aiming for their own interests, for their own financial/social/economic interests and for their own goals. If Israel benefits them, they dont care to shake hands with the devil. Its as simple as that.

Politics is a dirty game, and there is no permanent friend or foe. If you benefit from someone, hes your friend. If you dont, hes your enemy, etc.

The only true Muslim people are the civilians, not the government leaders. The government leaders would always be dirty politicians. Even Syria could at any minute strike a deal with USA and stop supporting Hezbollah. The only thing which prevents Muslims from cooperating with the enemies is by being united. And that means removing politics. If a leader comes to power and rules his country according to Islamic principles, then and only then would we see unity. But so far nobody cares about unity.

Thats precisely the problem. Muslim Arabs see themselves as Arabs, not as Muslims. Theres alot of disunity between Muslim Arabs and Muslim non-Arabs. This needs to be sorted out. King Abdullah said last wake that "patience has limits" and "a devastating war could break and no one will not be harmed by it" if Israel does not stop its aggression on Lebanon. Many people interpreted it as threatening statement to Israel but it seems that Israeli government do not really care. All Saudis were happy by the King's statement and they are so ready to go to war but it seems that the Saudi government was only bluffing and they know they can not stand up against the Israeli army :(

i am totally against israel atrocity against lebanon or palesine, BUT. sometimes i think that how come when hizballa captured the two soldiers never asked for arab advice, but when israel replied, then the arabs have to help? i understand financial and medical support but millitary?? when you make a military action you have to expect a reaction, beside they never asked for our advice and then when things get bad they start moaning about how arabs are useless? same happenned with saddam, he never asked anybody opinion about invading kuwait. although king fahad warned him not to do so. but when america wanted to hit iraq our media started rolling against other arabs who were portraied as betrayors. come on give me a break, each state has to take a full responcibility for its action. that doesent forfiet the fact that israel is using too much power. another fact, arabism is a common language and culture, its not about ethnicity.

The point is you should help someone who needs it, whether they are muslim or Jew, Arab or European. However on the flip side you should not help a bad person in the same way just because they are of the same kin.

Im sorry but that is such a simplistic and uninformed view of Lebanese society. Only a SMALL minority of Christians in Lebanon are "crusader leftovers". Maronites (largest Christian sect in Lebanon) for instance are the followers of St. Maron who have inhabited Mount Lebanon since the 400s AD. I could go on and on proving your "facts" wrong but I suggest you simply read up on complete Lebanese history. I dont mean any hard feelings dont get me wrong Im just getting sick and tired of everyone acting like the know everything about Lebanon and that they understand the Lebanese people and its 18+ different ethno-religious groups.

I am not sure if it is weird (its been pretty normal through history) and is surely evidant to varying degrees beyond the Muslim world but it is not healthy and it does lead to prejudice in mind and spirit.

"My people right or wrong" is not a virtous and admirable position. If the U.S. or NATO had the same attitude in regards to the Balkans then they would have helped Serbia bomb Albanian Muslims rather then vice versa becaue the Serbians are "Christian brothers". Which would haven been highly immoral position to take.

I have a feeling that it is this my people right or wrong attitude that keeps such atrocities like what goes on in the Sudan commited by Muslims from keeping other Muslims from speaking out or condeming horrifec actions.

first of all, for the arab forumers who dont seem to understand, the ethnic arabs come from the arabian peninsula.

all other arabs, such as north africans, lebanese, syrians, etc... are LINGUISTICALLY ARABS, not genetically nor ethnically.

they just speak the arabic language due to the fact of arabization during the islamic empire.

also, it should be noted that syria, and lebanon were christian before being arabized and islamicized.

but dont get me wrong, people should be proud of what they inherited from the arabs, but they should also get to know their own roots, especially the lebanese, iraqi's, and syrians, the egyptians already know where they came form.
