I live on the 30th floor in an apartment building in Toronto. The worst part of it is the elevator ride. Its excruciating, boring and the worst part of my day.

They are normal speed elevators that take quite a while to come down, even though my building has four of them. They make my apartment seem as if its actually out of the city!

What about your bad elevator experiences?

Many tall residentials in Hong Kong have dedicated express elevators. They stop once every few floors, and residents use the elevator that stops on their corresponding floor.

Example : elevator A stops on 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 etc. and elevator B stops on 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 etc.

Quite a few skyscrapers have those. Most are 1-10, 11-20, etc. rather than skip stop though that I've seen.

Those are for mostly commercial skyscrapers. The separation is segment-driven, but the Hong Kong residential ones skip a few floors per stop, which is a far different method.
