RIYADH l U/C l Al Wassil Tower l 22F

[Riyadhi]

This one is located in Riyadh on King Fahd Road just one block north of Al Faisliya. It's a nice looking tower with a blue glass facade and a relatively high spire. The tower is not that high (maybe 100 m) but it will balance the skyline between Al Faisaliya and Kingdom Center a little. The excavation has already started few days ago.

I'll post a rendering of the tower when I upload the photo tomrrow.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to give an update on thsi project, i passed by it a day ago, and they are almost done with the foundation of the building, probably within a few weeks it will start rising above the ground. and according to the contractor TABOUk the project will be ready by June 2008.

Official news from the contractor, the tower will be 165 M. Making it the third highest tower in Riyadh. Can one of the moderators change the title to 165 M.

BTW, is it a residential use building or an office building?
I don't beleive it is the third highest. There are already three; Kingdom Tower, Faisaliyah and Ta'awuniyah Towers, aren't these higher?
and I've seen some good projects in there website. What about that Pension Agency/Oger buidling? looks nice. is it the same being built opposide to ministry of industry and commerce. I think I'm correct.

BTW, again, where does the word Oger come from? Don't tell me it is from Ogre.:laugh:

They are about 2-3 floors high now. according to their website the project will be finished by the end of 2008. The site is about 300-400M North from Faisaliya on King Fahd. Maybe someone with a digital Camer can take some photos of the site.

XP, the Tawaniya towers are 101 M high, so that makes the tower the third highest as of now, other projects like Al Rajhi and Jawhara are not under construction yet. I also beleive it will be a commercial tower, since its a business district.

For the pension fund, i'm not sure but i think i saw something like that being built on Dabbad street a yr ago.

I am very disappointed with this tower. It looked great on the render, with the beige cladding. But this?!

^^ Actually.. I consider this tower one of the few towers that sticked to their visualised renders. It looks the same as the render except for the spire part and for the thing holding it & since the tower isn't finished yet we can only wait and see if it's gonna turn out as hoped or not
