Good news for Southampton - probably the largest development since West Quay was today given planning permission. Construction is due to to start next year:

The waterfront of a Hampshire city is set to change forever after two major developments were given the green light by planners.
On Tuesday, Southampton City Council approved plans to build 1,500 homes in three 23-storey towers on an historic former ship-building site in Woolston.
They also gave the go-ahead for a 15-storey, four-star hotel at the city's up-market Ocean Village marina.
Developers said they hope building work will start in 2007.
The Woolston Riverside project will be built on the site of the former Vosper Thornycroft shipbuilders in Victoria Road, which closed in 2004 after 100 years, when the company moved manufacturing to Portsmouth.
It's reuniting Woolston with a waterfront it's not seen for more than 100 years
Andrew Morris, Richard Rogers Partnership
The South East England Development Agency bought the 36-acre site and its £350m redevelopment includes creating hundreds of new jobs.
Andrew Morris, senior director of the Richard Rogers Partnership, which designed the redevelopment plans, said: "We are trying, not to put the heart back into Woolston, because there is already a heart here, but give it something it's never had before, which is a riverside heart."
But the plans have received a mixed reaction from local residents.
City councillor Carol Cunio, who represents the Woolston ward, said: "I'm disappointed there are not more family houses with gardens, we need more open spaces. People are also concerned about traffic."
Meanwhile, Marina Developments Limited have been given the go-ahead to build a 225-bed Millennium Hotel on a small piece of land jutting out into the Ocean Village marina, which is a regular home for round-the-world yachts.
Found these links below which give some good renders, models of the development. It's not very tall by UK standards, but its fairly tall for Southampton - I reckon about 60 - 70m tall for the largest tower.
