View Full Version : U/C: LE 400 Sherbrooke Ouest
malek August 2nd, 2006, 02:56 AM Enjoy !:)
Bon visionnement!

Gjm130 August 2nd, 2006, 03:48 AM WOOOO, I want it, I want it, I want it !!
Gjm130 August 2nd, 2006, 03:50 AM I counted the foors, and it seems to me, it's about 35 floors high!!
And I think it's the same project as the last red building in this link:

Ashok August 2nd, 2006, 04:14 AM it could be ...

malek August 2nd, 2006, 05:09 AM yes its the same project. the one in red was a conceptual schema.
The one I posted is an advanced render. A forumer from SSP says there's already some activity on site.
Its hard to believe because i haven't seen anything posted about it on the Citys' site.
Gjm130 August 2nd, 2006, 05:27 AM yup, but this is huge for Montreal!! Already, Place Metropolitain is about 35+ floors, and now this. This is just amazing.
Now, SuperManMTL thinks is has broken ground, I'll go check it out 2morrow.
habsfan August 2nd, 2006, 03:04 PM Place Metropolitain is about 35+ floors
Huh? Are you talking about the Mega CLinic project on René-Lévesque?
Anyways, i like this project. Hopefully they'll use good quality materials! Added bonus, this would become the tallest residential tower in Montreal(at least I hope it will be taller thean the Port Royal[120meters])?
malek August 2nd, 2006, 07:50 PM c'est vrai! ils ont déjà commencé à nettoyer le terrain!!!

De Snor August 3rd, 2006, 12:10 AM very nice building
a residential I presume + what is that lightblue thing on the top of the low rise ?
MTLskyline August 3rd, 2006, 03:33 AM Nice height but I'm not crazy over it....
I find it looks a bit cheap, maybe its that greyish brick at the bottom?
elkram August 5th, 2006, 03:20 AM Blech, what a blight of yet another embarassment coming about only to end up scarring this city.
Are we to have perpetually poor tastes and standards here? Please, pitch better standards to your city councillor here, or it'll become to late to!
Cheers,
Chris
stickers August 16th, 2006, 08:04 PM That's great for the city!
I like the "De Stijl" inspiration of the central glass part.
Someone has any info about who's the architect? about who's financing it?
What's the height? purpose? year of completion?
Preliminary render looks good
habsfan August 16th, 2006, 10:29 PM What's the height? purpose? year of completion?
I'd say anywhere between 120 and 130 meters(390 to 425 feet)
I think it'll be 1/2 hotel and 1/2 rental appartments.
Completion date? About 2 years
stickers August 16th, 2006, 11:57 PM any idea about who's the architect? a Montreal firm for sure
habsfan August 17th, 2006, 03:31 PM any idea about who's the architect? a Montreal firm for sure
UNfortunately, i have no idea who the architect is? The thing with this project is that because it will mostly be rental units, the promoter didn't have to make any promotions for this tower(like he would have for a condo project). WE(over on SSP) found out about this project about 3 or 4 months ago. Then all of a sudden, this rendering comes out like 2 weeks ago. Now, Malek has taken a few pictures where they have already started to work on the site. I don't think any project has ever been starteed soo fast!? I guess its good news. Hopefully we can get a few more surprises such as this in the near future!?!
malek August 18th, 2006, 05:57 AM I passed by today and there's some huge cylinders and beams... i don't know enough to know what they would be used for.
habsfan August 18th, 2006, 06:50 PM I passed by today and there's some huge cylinders and beams... i don't know enough to know what they would be used for.
Les cylindres vont probablement servir à couler les colonnes de Béton!?
Ashok August 18th, 2006, 09:06 PM I passed by today and there's some huge cylinders and beams... i don't know enough to know what they would be used for.
I am not sure, but maybe its for their foundation (Caisson Foundations). Like habfans said its for the concrete. The cylinders will be pushed into the ground then filled with concrete.
malek August 18th, 2006, 10:20 PM nice nice...
trois grues mobiles aujourd'hui !!
ca devrait pas tarder avant qu'on voit une grue fixe poper la... surement moins chere que 3 grues mobiles.
malek September 6th, 2006, 07:17 AM someone should change the title from PROP to UC
De Snor September 8th, 2006, 11:10 AM any new pictures of the site ?
malek September 8th, 2006, 03:13 PM I have but nothing really special about it. They are preparing the lot to pour the foundation.
BlocQuebec September 13th, 2006, 03:25 PM Nice, but I'm afraid that this was not on the Emporis database. So I'm assuming that this is not an official project?
malek September 13th, 2006, 05:25 PM Emporis is never up to date.
I posted pictures of the lot being dug how more official do you want it to be ? :)
habsfan September 13th, 2006, 07:02 PM i was at the Delta Monreal yesterday, and we could here them working over at the 400 Sherbrooke ouest. can't wait to see this baby stick its nose out of the ground!
azzurri.chris September 15th, 2006, 12:40 AM SO is this another Condo project? or is this a hotel?
What will be the official height of the tower?
malek September 15th, 2006, 01:47 AM half hotel, half rentals (monthly rentals of the sort)
habsfan September 15th, 2006, 04:56 PM SO is this another Condo project? or is this a hotel?
What will be the official height of the tower?
My guess...about 115 to 125 meters.
36 floors X 3.3 meters per floor = 119 meters
azzurri.chris September 22nd, 2006, 04:03 AM OK Thanks for the replies!
