View Full Version : How's everyone holding up in this heat?
waj0527 August 3rd, 2006, 10:22 PM According to accuweather, its currently 100 degrees in downtown Baltimore, but it feels like 104. Apparently a cool front is coming this weekend though. Mid-80s all weekend long. Im heading to Delaware to go to the beach this weekend.
DCKenny August 3rd, 2006, 10:28 PM It's killing me!
Xusein August 4th, 2006, 01:39 AM Not enough...
It has not been below 90 for a week...Last thursday to monday were managable...low 90s...
But on Tuesady, we had that deep south style heat come in...97 on Tuesday, 100 yesterday, and today hit 96...I actually took a personal day off today because I could not take that damn heat...
Luckily, for us, tommorow will be cooler...
Yesterday at 3:00, it was 100F...but it felt like 112... :sleepy:
Estopa August 4th, 2006, 02:18 AM yesterday we hit 100F today 97F.................
The Mad Hatter!! August 4th, 2006, 02:25 AM I think you guyz complain to much!
Xusein August 4th, 2006, 02:27 AM Dude, You live in Miami, you're used to it! :)
Now, that's enough discussion for me, I need to get closer to the A/C...
Jimi C August 4th, 2006, 02:35 AM swamp ass
Promiscuous Boy August 4th, 2006, 03:33 AM OMG yesterday we had 108F in Bucks County :S
JAB323 August 4th, 2006, 03:34 AM Yeah, it's pretty hot. It was like at least 100 i think.
DCKenny August 4th, 2006, 04:09 AM I think people down south love this weather!
scando August 4th, 2006, 04:21 AM We've been spoiled in recent years with no severe heat waves and no bad winter freezes, so I guess this is a shock to our collective systems, but I'm getting real tired of the news media trying to make me feel bad. I especially like when they trot out the "misery index' or whatever so they can inflate the already high temperature. It's not like we've never been here before but memories are short.
Having grown up with no airco and lived for several years as an adult in a city rowhouse with no airco, my current cooled house and car make all this seem way too easy. We will survive, cooler times will come and tomorrow we go back to regular summer heat. Come October all this will be just a happy memory.
sjerseyrez August 4th, 2006, 05:17 AM Dying dude. I'm on vacation this week, and I can't enjoy it because of the heat. I'm all for summer vacations, enjoying the sun and nice warm weather, but c'mon now. I should have travelled to Florida to enjoy some cooler weather. Sheesh!!
ROCguy August 4th, 2006, 06:37 AM I think people down south love this weather!
No, they are more used to it but they don't love it. Southerners feel the same about summer heat as northerners do about winter cold; they are used to it, but SICK of it. It hasn't been below 95 here in NC in almost a week! Pools aren't refreshing anymore, you can't go outside. Summer in the south is more of a hypernation period than winter in the north...... one more year; just ONE more year!
DCKenny August 4th, 2006, 08:42 AM This heat just suck man!
BuffCity August 4th, 2006, 09:40 AM the hotter is gets the more the girls take off...I'm doing good. :)

Damn, killed a lot of people, though today was rather tame... I think I even felt a drop of rain or two.
EDIT: I found another article saying most of the deaths were in Cali... so that's irrelevent I suppose. But still, damn. I didn't think heatwaves could shift across the country like that?
Xusein August 4th, 2006, 04:40 PM Yeah, that was weird...
Most storms and fronts that hit the Northeast usually come from the Midwest and the South...getting a system from the West coast is unusual...
blink55184 August 4th, 2006, 04:59 PM Alot cooler out today, but pouring in boston now
AndySocks August 4th, 2006, 09:23 PM Screw that, from now on I'm boycotting systems from the west coast :gunz:
scando August 5th, 2006, 05:25 AM All of a sudden, after an entire week above 95, 4 consecutive 100 degree days, all of a sudden it's 70 degrees and distinctly unhumid in my front yard. It's night but recent days have only gotten down to about 80 at night. I almost miss the heat wave... or maybe not.
StevenW August 5th, 2006, 03:51 PM The heat has been just terrible! It has been well over 105 to 108 degrees here not counting the heat index of course. :(
My ideal temp is between 65 to 75 degrees with a light cool breeze and sunny skies. :D ;)
Silver Springer August 5th, 2006, 07:05 PM I don't know why but this heat doesn't feel that bad to me. Cold showers help I guess.
DCKenny August 5th, 2006, 09:01 PM Like I said this heat is a monster.
DCKenny August 6th, 2006, 02:11 PM OMG- the heat is gone!!!
Jaybird August 6th, 2006, 05:19 PM I was holding up ok, I guess, but it's gone for now. At least all of us get a bit of relief. Tuesday and Wednesday were REALLY BAD.
waj0527 August 6th, 2006, 05:43 PM DCKenny is right! The heat is gone and has been for a couple of days now. I can't stand always having the AC on, so I welcome any opportunity to turn it off and let the breeze blow through the house. Right now its 83, no humidity, slight breeze. Its great.
Xusein August 7th, 2006, 01:11 AM Nice here...a "cool" 77F.
