Why?

Concord. Because I lived there, I suppose. It's small, but self-sufficient.

Though nobody in power in the "city" likes to admit the fact that politically it is a "city". Not a "town" or "village" like they always like to claim it is.

Portsmouth, definitely. What a nice, compact, walkable downtown with great restaurants, art galleries and shops. It is the perfect New England coastal town.

And I know it's an easy target, but Nashua is the worst place in NH.

At first when I read the name of this thread I thought to myself, "You mean there are cities in New Hampshire?" But then when I thought about it, I guess it does make sense. That's why I like this thread. I used to live in Maine, and I have always thought that New Hampshire is one of the most beautiful states (along with Vermont and Maine).

Portsmouth is my favorite, because I always try to stop there on my way to see my relatives near Rockland, ME.

Concord, for the same reasons.

Portsmouth.

Never been to Concord, but I've seen a picture or two of its downtown, and it looks attractive enough.

Isn't New Hampshire a suburb of Boston?

Manchester, it's the most urbane.

LOL!

Toledo is the crappiest city in the U.S.... and you have the audacity to come into the northeast forum and bash all our cities.

First of all, chill out. I did NOT bash "all" of your cities and you need to re-read what I wrote because there is not a single word about "bashing". I've stated two statements in regards to NYC and New Hampshire as part of a paradimn of most of the people who never visited in that part of the country. Since you have your panties in a bunch, I was trying to motivate some NH-ers to post pictures of many cities in their state but I guess some people are too damn sensitive.

If y'all want some loving, I think New Hampshire is a beautiful state which is a nature-lover's paradise with their mountains and abundance of lakes. I've really enjoy visiting that state. Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse are cities that reminds me of cross-breed of North Atlantic and Midwest architectures. I like the gritty, gotham-like skylines as much as the next person.

For your comment in regards to Toledo, I will ignore your ignorant statement because it's irrelevant.

So next time think before you start spewing your venom.

NH has 234 incorporated places, 13 of which are cities:

Berlin (most post-industrial, hard-luck city)
Claremont (never been to)
Concord (see above posts)
Dover (decent small city, similar to Rochester)
Franklin (bit hard-luck, somewhat run-down)
Keene (home to the world's widest Main St, nice college town, preservationist and "concerned citizens" groups rule here)
Laconia (most touristy/seasonal)
Lebanon (college town)
Manchester (biggest city)
Nashua (2nd biggest, has some good density in a small core, but mostly suburban)
Portsmouth (possibly among the most "European" in all of the US)
Rochester (similar to Dover)
Somersworth (small, between Rochester & Dover on Maine S/L, never been to)
