The following are big, my apologies.
These are clippings from The Hartford Courant circa early 1980's of a proposed skyline/development plan that would have expanded the city insanely. Remember, Hartford was a huge boom town before its decline in the 1990s. Obviously, this never developed and happened.

This is much much more recent. This was an artistic rendition of Hartford that was prepared to help the hype of the New England Patriots moving to town, which of course Bob Kraft(owner of the Patriots) just provoked to use to lobby the state of Mass. to build a new stadium in Foxboro(Gillete Stadium)

Here is the waterfront with the stadium

Finally, The Bulkley Bridge in the 1940's before I-84 hijacked it. It was a nice city bridge, connecting Hartford to East Hartford and Manchester. I-84 now streams over it and cuts off downtown development from The North End.

Hartford is so big, I mean it's growing really well. It has a reasonable skyline as well, had no idea it was like that!

yup, ugly as all hell.
Can really see how 84 cuts off downtown development from north of downtown.

I would love to see 84 go underground, or see it follow the charter oak bridge and get the F**k out of Hartford.
