the word is : tourism: It is said that in can have 1.000.000 in august in the zone, another town near that one, Villajoiosa is very similar to benidorm, but maybe with not so many high buildings. ALL of that buildings are apartaments and hotels.

This city is all about tourism......you won't find too many large corporations rooted in this city.....so you may not find the commercial towers we are so in love with......most of the structures are hotels and residential........but where this city lay can be called a vacationers dream.......warm and sunny......topless women to gawk at and blue water to splash in.....+1 for average building height 7.0 /10

Can't deny that skyline, even if it is lacking in good architecture. That proposal looks ok though.

Torre Lúgano is already aproved and construction will begin soon, but 220 m. is not the height of the building, it's the height over the sea of the tallest floor, the real height, with spires must be around 165 m. There is a tallest proposal, "In-Tempo" building, with around 73 floors, architect: Pérez-Guerras the same of the building "Neguri Gane" today's 2nd tallest building in Benidorm with 40 floors and 150 m. (160 with spires) it was completed in 2002.

Has a lot of density of reasonably tall towers. The buildings themselves seem mostly to be ....ummmm....:puke: and there is something strange abuot tall buildings rising out of nothing, in some of the pics looks like Benidorm is surrounded by scrubland, seems a bit strange/funny/wrong. Anyway, the profile of the city is respectable, but needs something more to focus on, and some newer, more interesting buildings.

I must give it ten, is my city!!! :colgate: :colgate:

Benidorm is a touristic point in europe, it had not too much terrain to build, so the result is what you see. It has architecture of the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's... Maybe the old ones are ugly, there are too many only-functional buildings, but in the last years they have built some great and nice buildings.

Actually there is a project called armanello that will bring more tall buildings to benidorm.




P.D: If you could have the oportunity of watch the skyline from the sea... you'll change your vote to a higher one.

But i must say it has its charm, the buildings are of poor architechture and they do not suit the coast at all, however i can imagine hong kong looked similar in the 80s. I would still like to visit it but it is full of chavs on £90 package holidays from the teletext!! That in my idea is what spoils spains holiday resorts, they are too cheap!!

Nice surprise, I didnt have a clue about the existence of this city. It´s skyline is much denser than Spain´s main cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla, San Sebastian, Bilbao or Valencia.

You would never see me near it but it's a great skyline. I have not seen a better one in Europe. Looks a bit like HK. Besides the shiny buildings 95% here is extremely ugly as well.

I have stayed in benidorm a few times and think the place has an impressive skyline but could do with beter quality architecture. If you go in winter be carefull though i was attacked & robbed last time i was there. I was left with a broken nose! gangs hang around old part of town.

Density and height is amazing but it's ugly, it's just an overdeveloped tourist resort.

It's not by seeing photos that you could judge this skyline.
You have to dive in the warm sea at sunset, swimming 50mts away from the coast, and rest for a while on your back enjoying the stunning and impressive sight...
