The area looks more compact than Pudong to me. Chongqing reminds me of Lower Manhattan. Won't be a surface lot in sight.

IMO, i think the ChongQing island looks a lot more like the Pudong area in Shanghai, and with the iconic building being built at the end of the island, it will become an icon like oriental pearl did for Shanghai. As for the high density buildings, yes, it does resemble NY.

By 我的摩天重庆. Wow! This project has been progressing fast and steady in the last months. First they rushed to complete the podium / shopping mall by year's end. Now they are finally setting the cladding of the earliest tower, a large part of which has been leased already. Hopefully some other tower within the complex will sprout anytime soon.

It seems you've never been in Chongqing, am I right?

China is still currently undergoing a huge refreshment of its cities, to catch up with what they missed before the 90's. It will take additionally 1-3 decades before the cities in China can have the same total standard as any big American, European or Japanese city.

The tower looks nice. :)

^^Here I have a Google Earth image from December 8th, 2010. And the plot of the main tower is empty, nothing in Prep status. Just two towers, one completed and the other under construction.

From this we can see that R1 is completed, R2 U/C and R3 looks on hold.
R5 and R6 we can assume either cancelled or part of a later phase that doesn't look anywhere near started.

Loving this tower. Why does Chongqing always look dirty in pictures tho? It's really ruining these skyscrapers. is it the pollution or just the building themselves?

^^It's definitely the pollution. They are doing everything they can to make it better, though. Just look at Shanghai 10 years ago and now.
