Tricky August 6th, 2006, 06:30 AM What are the projected passenger numbers for each year? What will be the terminal's passenger capacity? ... I suppose it will be Moscow's largest/busiest airport, right?
Mr. Fusion August 6th, 2006, 08:23 AM Sorry, I am unable to answer the questions with regards to passenger capacity, as the presentation I pulled those images from was in Russian. :(
According to Wikipedia, Domodedovo has surpassed Sheremetyevo in international passengers, and with its extensive domestic network, would make sense to conclude this is the busiest commercial airport in Russia.
cladiv August 6th, 2006, 10:07 AM ^^ This is true but i think figures will change once the new Aeroflot-Skyteam terminal at SVO is completed. As far as I remember It should be completed and start operations in 2007.

As far as overall passengers, probably not, but international passengers I could see SVO taking back the lead.
As you can see, Domodedovo's runway design allows for more aircraft movements than:

Mr. Fusion August 9th, 2006, 08:17 PM Tu-114 Dismantled at Domodedovo International Airport
MOSCOW (RNWire) [1/8/2006] - A Tu-114 aircraft has been dismantled at Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport as part of the reconstruction of the Landside area. The jet was set up as a feature exhibit at the airport in 1977 to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of accident-free operation of this type of aircraft.
"The Tu-114, placed on display at Domodedovo some 30 years ago, was one of the Airport's icons, and certainly the decision to dismantle it was not an easy one for us to make,” commented Anna Krasnova, Director for Government and Public Affairs, EAST LINE Group, Domodedovo Airport Management Company. "Unfortunately, this particular jet was beyond reconstruction and it was not safe to move it to another place,” she added.
The decision to dismantle the plane was taken following an examination of its condition by a panel of experts who considered it to be extremely dilapidated, beyond repair and potentially dangerous for visitors.

btw, model is not full. actually T4 is about 1/3-1/2 of it's planned length on this model.

According to the history/news pages, it already is the largest Moscow area airport since last year (at least going by number of passengers -- 13.9 million at the latest). It just became #1 in takeoffs and landings as well, also with 13.9 million. I couldn't find any numbers for future projections, although there was a vague reference to having the highest projected growth rate out of 150 biggest airports in the world.
