View Full Version : comparing VN to other SEA countries Huy August 9th, 2006, 06:34 AM Comparing VN today with other SEAasians countries like Cambodia, Laos, and the phillippines where does VN rank as far as infrastructure and economy to these countries? skidlin August 9th, 2006, 06:40 AM only laos and cambodia are less developed in infrastructure than vietnam, i would say malaysia has the best and well designed...look much better than what i see in california, usa. BetterFuture August 9th, 2006, 06:51 AM In terms of corruption, here is the ranking as of 2005. Vietnam is in the middle. 5. Singapore 9.4 39. Malaysia 5.1 59. Thailand 3.8 77. Laos 3.3 107. Vietnam 2.6 117. Philippines 2.5 130. Cambodia 2.3 137. Indonesia 2.2 155. Myanmar 1.8 chinatown August 9th, 2006, 07:47 AM VN only stand above Myanmar,Cambodia,Laos & East Timor in terms of anything. christianhoang August 9th, 2006, 08:25 AM highter HDI than indonesia hhee! vkameleon August 9th, 2006, 08:37 AM With all the arrogrance in here, some people here need to face the reality that Vietnam is one of the poorest country in the region. :scouserd: BetterFuture August 9th, 2006, 08:54 AM Wan Tu Hoa :) By 2010, the GDP Per Capita (Nominal) of Vietnam will reach over $1,000. This is very important because it will remove Vietnam from the list of the least developed countries. Vietnam has a lots of potentials. Currently, Vietnam, as a nation, is undervalued. VietnamCalling August 9th, 2006, 09:23 AM And as a nation, Vietnam is dirt poor and corrupted too. As soon as you get out of Saigon, poverty will stare at you in the face. Actually, you don't even need to get out of Saigon. It's just sad. kongla August 9th, 2006, 09:30 AM In the past ,Vietnam is one of the poorest country in the world. Now !!!!, Vietnam only stand above Laos,Bermar,Timor and Cambodia in everything !!!!!! In the future, I am not sure if Vietnam have a good government and developing your infrastructure, Economic , Education and many things that you must have to changing and developing your country ... In spite of ,your economic are immediately growth and GDP are growth in the high rank in SEA . but it is not mean your country are better than neighbour country :bash: Espma August 9th, 2006, 11:31 AM ^^I dont think anyone is claiming that Vietnam is better than its neighbours... its just a comparison, Vietnam is rising on a global stage at a very rapid state, its global influence is clearly increasing, for example, Vietnam condemning Israel for its attacks on Lebanon, wouldve been somewhat ignored by the rest of the world...but since its influence is clearly on the rise...the world pays more attention to what Vietnam has to say about current events nowadays. Its definitely a great thing, in my opinion once Vietnam develops further it will create a spill over effect to its nearer neighbours like Cambodia and Laos. This century belongs to Asia anyways...its about time the world ceases from being the playground of USA and the EU. wulizhong August 9th, 2006, 12:40 PM ^^I dont think anyone is claiming that Vietnam is better than its neighbours... its just a comparison, Vietnam is rising on a global stage at a very rapid state, its global influence is clearly increasing, for example, Vietnam condemning Israel for its attacks on Lebanon, wouldve been somewhat ignored by the rest of the world...but since its influence is clearly on the rise...the world pays more attention to what Vietnam has to say about current events nowadays. And I almost agree with your opinions! :) Nongkhai_tong August 9th, 2006, 02:50 PM Here is my rank and group Singapore Malaysia Thailand Indonesia Philippines Vietnam Berma Cambodia Laos vietguy1 August 9th, 2006, 03:24 PM Oh come on, you guys disgusted me with yours uneducated opinions, as well as those of you just talk crap because y'all hated the commie, or whatever like that. Vietnam of course still a poor country, but not the poorest in the world like y'all claimed once you compare Vietnam and 225 countries of the world. And in SEA region, how long y'all think Indonesia or Phillippines still stay a head of Vietnam? There are many things that involving in this. from politics, trading agreements, investment, policies, etc. But y'all childish's brains never thought any of that. OKKKKKKKKKK Huy August 9th, 2006, 03:59 PM I went back to VN 3 years ago and I was surprised how nice it was. Yes it true that i did not go to the poor areas of the country but overall I thought for the most part it looked good. Espma August 9th, 2006, 05:03 PM Here is my rank and group Singapore Malaysia Thailand Indonesia Philippines Vietnam Berma Cambodia Laos LOL thats a very cute list...and totally baseless as well may I add. Brunei which is among the richest in SEA wasn't even mentioned...and to put Thailand next to Malaysia and Singapore?.....ohh ok..lol chinatown August 10th, 2006, 04:40 AM Here is my rank and group Singapore Malaysia Thailand Indonesia Philippines Vietnam Berma Cambodia Laos oh in the 1st group i think only Singapore (& possibly Brunei) belongs there, coz S'pore is the only Alpha city in SEA.Both S'pore & Brunei has the GDP per capita over 20 000 so they're in a different league than the rest of the countries. In the 2nd group will be Malay & Thailand Indo,Philipines & Vietnam will be in the 3rd group and the last group contains the rest. |
