When are we going to see some towers go up along the coast in SM and OP? there are plenty of bland apartment buildings and motels and could be turned into "Miani Beach" Towers, but we may have to wait a long time with all the NIMBYist?

What's with this obession with everyone clamoring for tall towers? Infill is more important. Makes for a more dense city. 15 story buildings are highly important.

The beachfront is dense enough, no need for high rises. if you really want high rises near the water, go to long beach.

The LA beachfront is loaded with 3 story condos, i like it that way.

I wouldn't exactly call it NIMBYism, you mention current apartments and motels but if i lived in one of those apartments that may or may not be under rent control and be threatened with possibly being cleared out for a tower that will more than likely cater to big money clientele I would be against the project too.
As for the motels, not sure but the city might be making good tax revenue that it would not want to give up especially if a towers porject seeks tax breaks or public bonds.

I would be happy to see Lincoln Blvd from LAX to Santa Monica exactly like Ventura Blvd. Non stop shops, plazas, restuarants and low rise office buildings. Oh wait Sepulveda Blvd from LAX to Westwood to look similar as well.
