Developer: Sligo Properties
Architect: Wood Associates
Year of construction: Most likely 2007 (dependent on planning permission)

- A new building planned for the site of a car park in the centre of Preston, just off Fishergate (planning application submitted in August 2006)
- Mixed use development including residential, office and retail usage and underground parking
- The building will range from 3-13 storeys
- Will take the number of new apartments for Preston city centre to well over 1000
- I've christened it the Bostock Building as Bostock Street runs behind the tower!

I'm trying to work out what the hell this actually looks like. I think they are really trying to hard with this one, sorry! 6/10

Looks like brown/red brick cladding is being used again :bash:

Parts of it are horrid, but other bits are nice. I'll give it a 3 because it looks cheap, I don't like the red brick cladding and the trees look pathetic.

I thought it kinda looks like a casino mixed with some.. other thing? I'm not overly keen on red brick cladding myself but this University building by the same architects: http://www.woodassoc.co.uk/uclan.html actually ended up with practically no brick and was clad in these grey things: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mliebenberg/212426649/
I'm not saying I'd rather see it clad in grey panels but it's still very early days and I'm confident the design will be changed. But overall it's a great scheme that will help regenerate an area of the city centre named as one of the most deprived areas in the country only a few years ago! Hopefully the real thing will be a lot better, nobody wants a repeat of Birmingham's Orion Building :runaway:

I think it looks like with a bit of tweaking, it could be quite a decent building.
