don't ya think this is stupid , wasting land and money?

if ya watched Van SOn in Shanghai you'lll see in China they built film studios in the images of old city of shanghai and old cities of china....scenes in the past that you can't not find anywhere anymore.

VN should do that...rebuild replica cities of old saigon, hanoi, and old cities of vn.....from what i know our cities in the past only had 1 storey buildings.....no one allowed to build multi storeys building that exceeded the royal palaces....so it's very cheap and simple....unlike chinese cities with multi storeys and elaborate decoration.

Not really the same thing for Beijing in the past. You cannot build anything higher than the temple of heaven.. And NO it's definitely NOT WASTE of money. If it's wasted, I don't think the private company would invest in it. It's not out of the government's pocket.

The money to build something like the Shanghai studios are tremendous and they KNOW that it will give them benefit because of the Hong Kong and Taiwan movie industry who will rent it, not to say the quickly growing Chinese movie industry. Vietnamese industry is tiny and so I wouldn't expect people to invest heavily on film studios in Vietnam.

you don't think of tourism do you?
many people read book about: indochine, the far east, the orient. they wanted to see old saigon hanoi in its orginal glory (french empire glory, but still it's glory)

after walking the streets of saigon hanoi, I'm pretty sure foreign tourists will want to escape the heat and traffic and drown in another peaceful atmostphere....that's why so many of them think Hoi An is cool

even if we don't receive foreign tourists, think of all those newlyweds taking pictures....every year around Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan thousands of people get married.....I went back during those time I know......everywhere ya go, you see weddings.
and the only go to the saigon museum to take picture....that is so sad.

the film studio is not only built for film making......you have to expand your imagination, think big, dream big.

notthing personal, but i think for all of vietnamese too....we are too freaking humble..too cautious........I think it's pretty cool that they plan to invest over a billion USD for cailuong.....that is awesome.
